Haha a 3JZ!

If/when Toyota do that, I can see them going to a 3SGTE style setup with 4 cyl turbo engine and some kind of hybrid power. I6 would be nice, but packaging that would be tough in todays market, so I'm guessing it's a V6 or I4 of 2.5-3.0ltr displacement.

They wouldn't make it 4WD/AWD would they?

What is the point in making something similar to the GTR? Customers want a range of options to suit their driving styles, making it ADW/4WD only targets the GTR crowd and not the people who want a RWD GT car.

This!

If people want a GTR they will go buy one. Has to be RWD Inline 6. Porsche have stuck with that and so should Toyota with the supra.

Also I agree a 3JZ sounds awesome :D

I really can't see Toyota offering a 4WD version since Toyoda decided the GT86 was a good idea, but saying that, it's incredibly difficult to package a RWD hybrid sports car. This is why the new NSX will be 4WD.

A bloke down my local Toyota dealership told me it's definitely coming out next year, but that it will have a 27 litre Merlin engine.

I heard it was 29litres ?

You guys are wrong.... it is a 31 litre engine! I should know, my mate Bob works for Toyota, yep he cleans the windows so sees everything!!
