O/D Flashing + Slip Control Light

Okay.. so i am completely new to the Auto world and i'm still learning what O/D actually is and what the buttons and selections do.

However - with O/D off the light flashes every couple of seconds on the dash. This is partnered with the slip control light being permanently on.

I'm going to check the wheel speed sensors when i get a chance, but is there any other thing that may be causing this that i can check at the same time? I thought it could be a dodgy Slip control switch but that doesn't really explain the O/D flashing.. plus with the switch unplugged it still stays on.

If it is the ABS sensor I did read somewhere that you can get those for £60 off a forum member but that thread has gone. That'd be much better than partting around finding an ECU repair place or a replacement ECU.

There are a ton of threads on this around the Supra forum World so if you google it then you'll find those easily. Invariably comes down to ABS sensor or the ECU.

Just trying to keep the forum active but will happily google them mate

will test the sensors first when I figure out how. Could that be to blame for both errors ?

Ah right - good call.

You'll find out from your pin test if its one of the ABS sensors failed. Not as big an issues as it used to be as one member mentioned he can get sensors for £60. I cannot recall his member name though, maybe someone can remind us. Failing that it's probably going to be the ABS ECU.

Keeping the forum alive!

@chaoticentity @rider Andy is not a trader at the moment, he is talking with Josh about the potential of becoming one. If he decides he wants to apply to become a trader, we will put the proposal to members to vote on as per the new trader process. In the meantime mysterious ghostly spectres will cast and impenetrable shadow over any comments advertising services.

I've been reading around the various posts .. i can see people saying about the O/D Flashing but they are also saying the slip control is flashing too..

On my car the Slip control light is constant, and the button doesnt make a difference wether i push it or not

what does bypassing that pink one do? @Bender

Basically fix all of your problems but seriously im not a specialist in this field... But got that problem with 3 of my Supras and it help on every each one. I think there is some dry older around this area causing this and by doing that you bypassing the problem

I had this fault a while back so looked into it a fair bit. It seems the O/D and/or Slip Control lights flashing can indicate a number of faults so check the error codes first. In my case there were no codes at all so I ended up resoldering some of the dry joints, as described in the link below. This isn’t the only solution but it resolved the issue for me. As I say, check error codes before doing anything. Hope you get it sorted.
