We won't be able to make it that early as we have kids. We'll just need to catch up.

Is it best to get you at the green weekly Scott?

We aren't looking to leave there until 10:30am

Have you accounted for the day 1 schedule for sunny being late?

He was on time last year, so we will see ;)

That'll be most likely. Need to take wee one to the mother in laws and the big one has school.

Cool well failing that we will be at glencoe after that and now you have the schedule so you know where we'll roughly be and when.

I'll also put up on the Facebook chat with some of our numbers in case they Are needed

I don't have a walkie talkie, any reasonably priced recommendations?

I bought my Binatone handsets from Costco for £30 with the vat added on, which is pretty readonable. I can get anyone a set if you don't have a Costco near you or a Membership.

I know most of you have one but thought I would show this anyway, if wer not sure about compatibility this should sort it. Just wondering what yous think. Be about 11 quid each if we wer willing to take one each.

I've bought one of those radios from Amazon, under the brand name Baofeng. They get a good write up, but have to be re-programmed to UK frequencies, which seems to be straightforward enough. Whisper it, but apparently they're slightly too powerful to be used in the UK without a licence, so with that and the larger antenna that I purchased for it, I should still be in contact with everyone else, even if I get left behind! :D

They look good John but I think with most people already invested we might have missed the boat doing a group buy ;)

I'm going to go for one of them too Graham. Do you have the links handy for info and how to go about re-programming it for the UK?

Remember you need the USB programming lead, info on programming here: http://www.essexham.co.uk/news/baofeng-bf-888s-review.html

All things considered it would be easier to buy a PMR446 ready to use walkie talkie, but I like a challenge and these seem to be almost pro quality at a toy price.

I'm more curious about the range of this thing! 3 mile contact with the standard aerial :D
