jazz1
Try graham Sykes, Adrian flux, sky insurance.
stevie_b
At 21 years old you're likely to get stiffed on insurance. Those numbers are the top end of what I'd expect though with 3 years' NCD: West Sussex isn't Helmand Province.
Pig
Wow, how times have changed - I remember paying £1000 on my UK TT at 20! That was with admiral

Josh
I paid £800 on my UK Spec when I'd just turned 22, with 3/4 years NCB. That was with Admiral. Bear in mind they won't cover mods, or if they do, it'll put the price up.
ripped_fear
That is bad I pay 700ish on my na-5speed all mods declared with sky. and another 400 for the Passat with no claims mirrored. Im 24 with all no claims since I was 17. Had the supra since 20 and never paid more than 900. Sky quoted me an extra 200 per year to upgrade to a TT6. Mods are like for like too. They don't have a premium rate number making calling them easy, and the People are always very helpful and friendly. Cant recommend them enough. Dnk
Bear in mind if the worst happens Admiral will try to give you peanuts for your car
stevie_b
Bear in mind if the worst happens Admiral will try to give you peanuts for your car True. When taking out cheap insurance (car, health, holiday, etc) you're taking an implicit gamble that you won't be needing to claim. The claims dept is where the bargain insurers save their money. If I were in the OP's shoes though, that wouldn't put me off taking out cheap car insurance.
James
I was £950 fully comp on a J-Spec NA-TT at 21. Definitely shop around

mattdavies
Just been quoted £366 for a year fully comp on a classic policy. Who is that with ? Sky couldnt touch my Admiral price due to accident history
Dnk
Just been quoted £366 for a year fully comp on a classic policy. My TRD widebody all mods declared with LWIB was a bit cheaper at £330 with guaranteed value, it does obviously vary massively on your personal circumstances, age, history, ncb, points, postcode etc
Guest haydon
Just quick quotes With no mods declared Seems a tad high

Not sure i'd gamble on a car i paid say £10k for and Admiral value it at around 2-£3k, okay on a cheap NA i guess
mattdavies
If trying with admiral add your mum and dad as named drivers, this may lower your quote
Josh
Not sure i'd gamble on a car i paid say £10k for and Admiral value it at around 2-£3k, okay on a cheap NA i guess Admiral would have charged me £630 for both the Supra and the Yaris, but the lack of insuring the mods and getting agreed value wouldn't be worth it if I had a crash. Now at least I'm with Sky with both cars covered for £960 with agreed value and mods declared
stevie_b
Just been quoted £366 for a year fully comp on a classic policy. Good price, although a classic policy is a different beast: you don't accumulate NCD, and you sometimes can't use the car for commuting.
Swampy442
Just quick quotes With no mods declared Seems a tad high Don't think its that high really, Supras are high performance cars, you're a young, relatively inexperienced driver, the insurers are obviously going to load you up. You're already paying 1200 for your current car
tkddav3
I paid about £1500 for mine when I was 20 through admiral multi car. Had 1 or 2 yrs Ncb then it's gone down ever since. Owned it 3 years and it's the cheapest car I've ever insured. Much cheaper than my navara
kitch79
I was getting quotes of £1200 in 2002! I was 23 y.o. I thought that was fantastic as the best I could get on my celica st202 at the was 800. I then got a DC2 ITR costing 900 to insure. My supra is about 700 now, 10k miles a year, fully comp with value at 15k.

You're already paying 1200 for your current car I know its not silly high iv had 10-12k insurance quotes on other cars before lol Undistandibly they bump it , need an insurance company that see's it differently. I.e : expensive car club member on a few car forums. Therefore a safer driver than a pleb in a chaved out clio. Sky sound ok?
