Speakers are attached to the wooden brackets I made as pictured above

I bought the mdf rings which I wood glued too them from eBay think £6 delivered

There are diagrams which are helpful on here just search fitting 17cm speakers - I can find them if you need links

The brackets essentially replace these standard pods..

image

You can snip the existing connectors off and use them rather than buying new spades.. That's what I did :)

You will need to use the surround from the existing speakers to neaten the fit up and if you want to install your own grills..

This will require separating the plastic ring from the fabric covered grills which simply is held in by plastic pins..

image

Snip them off and they come apart.. You then want to get rid of the inner plastic so you can screw into the wood easier - I used a blow torch and a Stanley knife

Should fit together like this ..

OEM surround

Speaker backing

Speaker

Then grill clips over the top

Very good speakers! Enjoy :)

No way.. Thanks mate :) :) I feel honoured haha there are so many absolutely amazing machines on this forum!

I've gotta say I'm loving working on it so far.. Supras are great cars to learn about and restore!

It is bleeding me dry at the moment though so progress may have to slow down a little till after Christmas!

Still.. This is how my garage looks at the moment plus an engine block going in soon as my crane is fixed to get it out the van!

image

Absolute Mess!!! Luckily It's my birthday the end of the month so I'm hoping to spend some birthday money on getting the carbon bootlid on and get that out the garage

I set about taking the lights out earlier

image

So I could remove these for Scott87

image

And tomorrow I can fit these..!

image

Josh and rich popped over to say hey and drop this off for my NA-T build, thanks guys great to meet you :)! Midlands meet soon!
