w41k3r
excuse me..... thats just stupid, you dont jam something in the shaft ever!QUOTE] As i said i read it on club na-t who i thought would have been a decent site as its for non turbos going turbo He can discard the info i gave if he wants
Kirk
Wasn't having a pop at you mate I'm just saying that jamming something into the blades to stop it from turning is a no no. Nothing should ever enter the shaft as it risks damage to the turbo itself and the last thing you want is your engine injesting a broken off blade. Club NA-T is a useful forum but you won't learn a huge amount off there, just the basics realy. You want to speak to the guys who have done it big in the NA-T scene like I did, there's the ones with the true knowledge Edited March 30, 2010 by Kirk (see edit history)
w41k3r
Why have you done a supra na-t, or do you mean just in general ? it would be good to have a thread just for na-t to help out when i start mine ill do a thread like this see how it goes bish bosh lol
supspower
To be fair its not uncommon to get a fair bit of white smoke with NA-T setups depends just how bad the white smoke your getting? Best thing is to get it all aligned up correctly and go from there.
dr_jekyll
after my car has been standing for a week it allways has pleanty of white smoke for a while but it clears when its been run and dose not come back untill i leave to car standing again for a few days. Im fairly confident i could build an awesome performing NA-T hell if i had the budget to do so now i would but i dont so... As i keep saying there are alot of things to think about when you start pushing for big power, hence why i look at going NA-T in the same way as going single on a TT. Slapping a kit on is easy and doesnt take long at all with all the right tools Edited March 30, 2010 by Kirk (see edit history)

Davey001
Hey had a good look at everything today, was alot of oil around so took the turbo back off and the housing was full of oil too. Stripped it down and took some pics. Do you think i'll be able to get new seals for this? Wouldnt know what to get as there isnt abit of rubber anywhere. Iam guessing there should be o rings. If some one could let me know where there should be seals maybe i could get it going again! There is no play on the shaft and bearing is all in tact!So this explains the smoke, pleased it happened now rather than later! Even tho iam gutted

Homer
Ordered new turbo so will be back on track next week! Just ordered similar type but cant wait to get back on! What turbo did you go for?
Davey001
Just a similar one to the one i had, only cost me £250 think it has a faster spool up than the one i had. Not sure of the make yet, just have to see when i get it. Iam pleased it happened now, rather than in the middleof the summer when i wana get out in it! Homer
Just wanted to check you'd got the T60 or ideally the T70 (or whatever it's called now) and not the T04r one. XS power one right? At that price it can't be much else! Do you have a link to the seller (PM if you prefer)
Davey001
Are these better turbos?
Homer
Are these better turbos? Depends on what you bought mate The original looks like a T70 XS power one, but they are difficult to identify due to lack of marks. Do you have a link to the new purchase? Davey001
Think its this one i got http://www.xs-power.com/turbos-2.htm
icemanv6
Looks like it says T70 from the webpage.
Homer
If that is the one it's the T70. A fairly shitty turbo all things considered, but they "work" and it's possible to get some reasonable power figures out of them on the NA-T. Can't argue with the price though Just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of the T04* type turbo's from XS or similar Chinese brands, they're garbage. Keep us posted on progress please
dr_jekyll
did you confirm this was a t4 to manifold fitting because the 3 super t70s i have handled have all been t3?
Davey001
Yeah defo t4 fitment, will have a look tomorow to confirm the one I have bought!
w41k3r
On the manifold i have it has 8 holes in the flange is says t3/t4 so i presume this means i can have either t3 or t4 flange turbos Also the turbo that come when i bought my kit looks like real chinese tat lol so i will whack it on see what it does then prob change it can i ask what would be the best turbo for the n\a for no more than 350bhp
