Sounds like a top idea, but a bit bleeding expensive isn't it!!! You could buy enough sets of pressure monitor dust caps to last 7 years with them being nicked every month at that price!!

Do you get out and check them mid-lap or high speed run?

I'd like as much warning of a semi-rapid deflation under those circumstances.

Also I think I'd find it useful to see what's going on under non-failure operating circumstances, e.g. at a track you have to very quickly get off the track (no cool down = bad) and equaliiy as quickly then get out of the car and run round each tyre to read the pressure before they cool down, especially on a cold day when they will lose some of that heat-induced pressure.

How would this work if you had multiple sets of wheels Wez? Can the receiver store profiles for different sets or do you need to re-register the transmitters each time?

You would need to have transmitters each wheel and then when you swap the wheels over its an approx 2min per wheel job to register the different wheel.

Wez, would you mind asking the supplier if we'd need to start using a 'specialist tyre fitter' (i.e. someone who takes care) once these are fitted? I remember something about Renaults and possibly the new Skyline having stuff like this and as a result, being picky about how tyres are fitted if you're not to break anything during the process.

Depends how you have the sensor mounted, I would just make sure that you tell the tire fitter that the sensor is in there and to be careful.

Would the sensors cope with being swopped to new rims, and if so how would you go about re-bonding them on? If they can be swopped over to new rims easily then count me in if we can reach magic number of 10 :-)

Removing from the wheel would depend how you installed them. You can either bond them to the wheels or use the valve mounts, its upto you.

I'm up for one of these.... have been looking before but not buying due to the price.

£145 sounds spot on

And luckily my new tyres arrived today for my new alloys on the Focus. Just in time to buy these :D

Is that the magic 10 then? ;-)

It is indeed, I will contact them tomorrow for payment instructions etc and update the thread

If others still want to get in on the buy let me know as we may get them even cheaper with more numbers.
