  1. Bolt(for front disc brake cylinder slide) 90109-08214 EDIT: You could also try Lexus. The same front brakes are used on the GS300 (JZS147 and JZS160).
  2. EBC do list front and rear discs for the "J-Spec" brakes.
  3. Possibly the pads moving slightly because the little spring steel parts Toyota calls "PLATE, PAD SUPPORT" (J-Spec) or "SPACER, FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD" (UK-Spec) are missing or not springy. Does it happen if you reverse, then drive forward and apply the brake? Other possibilities are wear in the sliders (J-Spec calipers), or loose wheel nuts.
  4. What is marked on the dipstick? Early Soarers say Dexron, later ones say T-IV (although I doubt if the internals changed ) . Don't know about Supras...
  5. 10mm spacers will use stock or extended wheel studs.
  6. Unless it's a 6-speed N/A, it's a different gearbox, therefore a different clutch, therefore a different flywheel.
  7. The TT box won't work because it has electronically controlled line pressure, and I'm not sure if the N/A version will work because, IIRC, the V8 'box has an extra solenoid (to smooth the gearchanges?).
  8. Speedflow have a few options http://www.speedflowshop.co.uk/hose---100-series-200-series-400-series-200-series--aeroequip-startlite-241-c.asp
  9. A Torsen (TORque SENsing) diff operates like an open diff if one wheel has zero grip (no torque to be sensed ).
  10. You can buy adjustable flasher relays. Mostly marketed for bikes and caravans/trailers, though, and it may not be worth the hassle of wiring one into the Supra if there isn't a direct replacement.
  11. What's the condition of the control arm bushes? Is it better or worse if you increase the damping? (Not that I know anything about suspension tuning, you understand. )

  13. How much oil is it actually using, and which oil is in it? Even new car handbooks usually say that acceptable consumption is up to a litre per 1,000 kilometres. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?110621-Oil-level-dropped-after-spirited-drive&highlight=normal+oil+consumption
  14. The EPC says: 32101A BOLT(FOR DRIVE PLATE & TORQUE CONVERTER SETTING) 5 of 90105-10340 10-1.5PX12.8 - 9.8, YELLOW 1 of 90105-10341 10-1.5PX12.8 - 9.7, WHITE There are Japanese characters that Google translated to yellow/white. EDIT: I should have just looked at the EPC for the export model. Google is correct. What do the numbers mean? Is one 0.1mm shorter than the others?
  15. I do - gas cooker if I can't be bothered to find the butane torch.
  16. TUV approval is a good thing as well.- H&R or Eibach, for example.
  17. Brake cleaner will be OK (or just water if you dry it off immediately ). I used a drill bit (can't remember the size) turned by hand, to clean the old grease out of the sliders, then brake cleaner. Re: grease for the sliders >> http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?282397-Caliper-refurb-request-for-advice&p=3576165&viewfull=1#post3576165 You may know this already, but you can buy stainless pistons from Chris Wilson. Should last for ever. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?285257-Stainless-steel-caliper-pistons-UK-pad-retaining-pin-kits-Seal-kits&highlight=stainless+pistons You can buy "caliper paint". Hammerite smooth seems to be quite popular as well. Some people have them powder coated (but I'd use someone who specializes in motorcycle/car parts because they should understand which areas should be masked).
  18. Perhaps these guys could help? http://www.clutch-specialists.co.uk/files_bespoke-clutch Seemed to know what they were talking about when I needed a clutch for the Soarer.
  19. Mk3 MA70 (7M-GTE) clutch is OK, but I thought the flywheel was different and you need one for a 1JZ-GTE (Soarer, Mk3 JZA70, Chaser, etc). .
  20. Upload them to the forum (that way they are here for ever) and save the post, click on each thumbnail to see the full-size image, then edit your post with image tags around the URL of the full-size pic.
  21. Aussie drivers are restricted for a couple of years after passing their tests. I'm not sure if it's different from state to state, but IIRC it's stuff like no forced induction, no V8s, power to weight ratio limits. Mods are also restricted in Oz, unlike here, hence the defect notice for the car being too low. I think the minimum ground clearance is 100mm (4 inches). There are rules about the difference in wheel size from standard, and on the size of engine for transplants (no SB Chevy engines in Fiat 126s), for example, and stuff like the car has to have engineering approval if there is more than one modification to the induction system. We really have it easy (at the moment).
  22. Unsurprisingly, that looks identical to a Soarer kit. According to the EPC. Toyota used the same WRENCH, HUB NUT BOX (or wheel brace ) for just about everything from the IQ to the Hilux.
  23. If the club traders can't help... burrowsmotorcompany on eBay.
  24. Quick 'n' dirty fix - just bypass the cooler with 10mm oil hose. My GS300 has been fine for a couple of years with a "temporary" bypass.
  25. He's right you know! It's in Tempcover's FAQs: What Vehicles We Cover What vehicles can I insure? Can I insure an imported vehicle? Yes, in most cases we are able to insure an imported vehicle. When you add your car registration number on the quote it will tell you immediately if we are unable to insure the vehicle. That's useful to know.
