  1. Well they were 'till you started having a go at them!
  2. Sorry to spoil your day Charlie, but the rear lights went a few months back...
  3. You can buy good quality aftermarket cruise control kits for about £150. Would be relatively easy to fit to a Supra too
  4. Start the car, (preferably warm), then just push the button and floor the throttle. You should have an 'artificial' rev limit at about 4500rpm. If it just sweeps up to the redline, it needs backing off. If the buttons there, you have the feature. It may just need setting up.
  5. I've had that on a couple of cars now. It seems that if the bolt is overtightened, it flares the end of the fuel pipe. Only a little, but enough for the end of the pipe to catch on the thread. As you say, I don't think you've got much option now. Once it's out, you may need to file the end of the pipe down very slightly to allow it to re-fit. Also check the thread on the pipe as it may be a bit nasty if someones overtightened it previously.
  6. Do you rebuild every engine when a customer wants to fit a single turbo ??? I think Mr Chief was reffering at what a standard engine can take. Assuming a 2JZ engine is in reasonable condition, it should be able to take 500 bhp without issue, providing it's set up correctly.
  7. 500 bhp should never be a problem provinding it's all set up properly.
  8. IMHO, one single kit performs very much like another one. The PHR kit on the car I drove had a larger turbo than mine, so a fair comparison isn't possible. I do believe that outrite drivability is mainly down to cams, injectors and mapping. The later being the key that should bring them all together successfully.
  9. In your opinion maybe... James, the offer of a demo drive still stands mate
  10. They're cheesey, tacky, tasteless and already been done.... Sorry, I don't like them
  11. As said, not by itself but with the E-01, (which is a boost controller in it's own right), you can then make most alterations of the E-manage 'on the fly'.
  12. The switch is in the catch on the B post. There's a pale green wire that picks up the doors and boot running along the sill loom on the drivers side.
  13. You can always take out the EFI relays if you want to be safer Alternatively, I can supply a remotely activated relay for about £60. Simple installation, and nice addition security against key theft.
  14. Really great night out. Thanks to Colin for organising it. One question though... Who do I owe a tenner to? - Blame Adam, he sidetracked me on the way out!
  15. Must get some of these! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOT-SUPRA-TWIN-TURBO-O-E-IGINITION-LEAD-SET_W0QQitemZ4636063662QQcategoryZ10428QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Might have helped if he'd added VVTi maybe?
  16. LOL, so who was the tuner then? - Bear in mind the car's got far more potential now than it could ever have with the stock twins. The next question is, which injectors and cams to go for when i do get the work done! Prob 6 months down the line! Or do i just go for cleaning my 550cc and stay with uk cams?? I's suggest 650's for a T61. Mild high lift cams and raise the rev limit slightly.
  17. It's yellow. It's bound to be fast... ... Not sure where mine went wrong then!
  18. Hung a new light fitting, fitted a plug to a DVD player, cleared some boxes in the garage.... Exciting stuff How did YOU get on?
  19. I wouldn't say you'd need to go that far. The Mines has some nice features, like raised rev limit, no speed limits, no boost cut and a more aggressive map. With 550's, you won't need too much fuel correction, so I'd say stick with it. The problems I had with one only started once I had 800cc injectors fitted. At that point, I ran out of adjustments to reduce the fuelling happily. 550's will be fine.
  20. I'm sure Iam could send you a rough basemap that would allow you to drive the car safely off boost and to drive to his place. Get the E-manage, even if it's the old Blue. Far superior to the S-afc.
