  1. Does anybody know of any reason why a set of 550cc side fed high impedence injectors would work less efficiently than 550cc low impedence injectors with a resistor pack? Obviously the J-spec is designed to run high impedence injectors, so fitting a set of high impedence injectors and a high flow fuel pump should work as well as upgrading to UK spec without the agro of fitting the resistor pack... I know you'll need some kind of A/F unit to sort out how much fuel and when etc. Am I missing something? ps. Excuse me if I've got this totally wrong, I normally fit car alarms, not fuel injection
  2. Is that the correct part number Paul? Do you have any ideas on where to get them from. I recently got some Denso spark plugs locally, so maybe they can get the injectors too... - Don't they do 650's as well?
  3. Rest assured that you have won the competition for the most expensive fog light modification to an OE specification. Does look go though. Very detailed... What's next on the adjenda?
  4. The centre cat is a doddle to fit if needed... Failing that, a friendly MOT inspector.
  5. The other fusebox is in the drivers kickwell. Down by your feet to the right and just under the dash. This IS where the sidelights fuses are.
  6. Sounds good. Do you have any recomendations on who/where would sell something like this?
  7. I've done it now. I bought some DEX 2. The reason I was wondering if T-IV was OK is because I have a load of it here. Thanks anyway. Chris, The HKS intercooler comes with a PAS cooler relocation kit and the cooler itself is much smaller than the stock one. I assume now this is a BAD thing. Is it worth trying to use the relocation kit but retaining the stock cooler? I never realised PAS fluid got hot!
  8. Can you use the Type IV autobox fluid for the powersteering? I know most cars have the same fluid for both, But I thought I'd better ask as the Supra aint no ordinary car I've looked on mkiv.com but can't seem to find what I'm after... I'm sure its there somewhere!
  9. As the title says. I don't know what fluid is in my gearbox at the moment but I know it's been serviced by Toyota. I'm guessing it's going to be either Type II or Type IV. I've got some type IV to put in but will it mix ok with the older stuff or do I need to empty the entire box? (which I don't want to do!). Thanks for any help.
  10. No, I've not heard of them but they are on completely the opposite side of the country from me. Where, was I this time last year... Oh yeah, here. See, somethings never change:rolleyes:
  11. Agreed, the Toad Ai606 is a very reliable and stable security system. Has some good features too. £250 is a good price. The RRP on them is £349. - Of course, I can do it cheaper still! Only one comment on price though. In my experience I've seen lots of installations that are cheap jobs. Not 'jobs cheap'... Badly installed systems, no boot/bonnet switches, no/half/incorrect immobilisation, sirens in easily accessible places... There are exceptions, but try to get recommendations of installers, and at the risk of generalisation, aviod adds in some certain 'performance car' magazines that come to you. From experience, they don't like coming back to you when/if you have a problem. Tracker Monitor is the one that I believe is one of the better ones to go for. As I said before, this is manly due to the active Police support regarding vehicle recovery. All the above, very subjective, very IMHO
  12. That's good to know it was an easy cure. I bet you're relieved!
  13. If you switch on and off the ignition quickly, you'll get a short beep from the alarm. This stops the alarm passive arming for one cycle and stops the windows from closing... Sometimes, they beep as you turn of the ignition for no apparent reason - This would cause the windows not to close. You still haven't cured the intellistart problem... If you get the system "to hand" one day, call me, (01622 683044) and I'll talk you through some possibilities.
  14. If you like gadgets and toys as well as good security then Clifford is probably the one to aim for. Best one to go for is the Concept 600 - Intellistart is good for warming your turbo's up:D Clifford's can be tempermental sometimes. If it's just pure security your after then Toad is my preference, closely followed by Sigma, Laserline. There's plenty more out there like Scorpion, Cobra... The list is endless. Stick to a good brand name. All IMHO of course
  15. Hi Jason. I would expect your insurance company will require a Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser. Check with them first, but that's probably the safest bet for you own peace of mind as well. As Phil says, they come with nothing! If you fancy a long drive to Maidstone, (!!!), I can do you very good deal. Or at least tell you what's good or not...
  16. I would start by removing the MPH converter and going back to standard. See what happens before anything else.
  17. Just out of curiosity, Has anyone ever damaged a diff due to overheating diff oil on a J-spec, (or US spec apparently) ???
  18. I have an account with Motorsport Wheels, who I believe are the UK distributors for H & R... If you have no luck with Leon, let me know and I'll see what I can find out.
  19. Can anyone tell me the colour or pin number for the fuel pump ?
  20. If you just plug in that plug thing, (god, I'm on form with the tecky descriptions tonight!), you can watch the led pulse on each wheel. If I remember rightly, in the wet setting, you can monitor RPM, then dry gives you a wheel, 10% gives you another wheel and so on...
  21. As a guess, I'd say that one of your wheels speed sensors is up the swanny Use the diagnostics on the RLTC and check the reading from each wheel. If they are the same as the little round things, (good tech description), Ford use, they may just need cleaning.
