  1. I was ripping some bit out of a dying Supra a couple of weeks ago and found the airbag module/sensor mounted underneath the centre console armrest section. FWIW it was a J-spec aero
  2. I think you've missed the point Do you know of ANY UK car that won't have foglights as standard within the last decade?
  3. Pete, could you make up something that could visually warn you of detonation? - You can't always hear it, especially at WOT high revs/speed.
  4. Mine starts at around 1200 when really cold, then drops to 1000 until warm, then idles at 600-700 ish. Takes about 3-4 minutes to warm up.
  5. I've found that my Clifford Intellistart cures the problem:D
  6. Mine does that only when its cold and on high idle. I assume theres a fair amount of torque build up at about 1000-1200 rpm that causes this. Either that, or both your's and my box/prop/diff are f**ked. I'm kinda hoping i'm right on the torque thing:)
  7. I was at Eurospec on Monday getting some bit's for my car. They're breaking a Supra at the moment and they had the complete airbox inside the car. Try giving them a call on 01276 670628. - They do mailorder. HTH
  8. Paul, if you fancy a trip to Maidstone, we can try to fit one of your wheels on my car...
  9. What aRe you thinking of PhiL ? They only have the Crap TC system:eek:
  10. Try here http://www.torqueic.com/shop/
  11. I'm in Maidstone, about 25 minutes away. I could meet you somewhere if you like and follow you. A2 has some nice open bits without speed cameras:D Until you get to my neck of the woods with all the road works:mad:
  12. Highly recommend the man above and well worth a ride in any of his cars... If you like white knuckle rides!!!
  13. I'm running UK front's and J-spec rears. No problems here... Except that my rear disks are warped:(
  14. Thanks Martin. Very helpful.
  15. Easy, loads of screws along the bottom edge, poppers and covered screw's on either side/edge,( the poppers are the type that need the centres pushed in lightly before withdrawing the complete popper), a screw under a cap in the armrest/door handle and a hidden screw behind the release handle cover (which unclips). Then lift out slightly, lift the panel up and with your third hand, unplug the wiring:rolleyes: Don't know where the motor is positioned but I'm sure it'll be easy to find.
  16. I had a feeling that it would be the cars solenoid. We get that problem a few times and it's rearly the alarm, (unless we've forgotten to extend the locking pulse on VW, Audi, Merc's etc. - On the right track Phil:thumbs: I would give you 8 out of 10 but you lost a couple of points for blaming the alarm ). The solenoid will be located in the door. I've never looked at a Toyota solenoid before but usually, solenoids are not serviceable items - You're probably going to need to replace it:(
  17. And what happens when they do go? - Lack of power or lack of funds to repair the engine? Any idea how much a stock one is compared to the big aftermarket ones?
  18. Is there any actual performance gains with an aftermarket BOV other than the noise? Is the stock one not very good or prone to failure? I don't really want one but if they actually DO something....
  19. Nigel, I'm fairly sure it'll be one of two things. Firstly, can you sit inside the car and operate the central locking a few times from the switch on the drivers door. (push lock, then unlock, leave it about 30 sec's and do it again. repeat five or six times) - Always unlocking without fault? If it does unlock faultlessly, you need to check some of the alarm connections. The central locking on the Supra is a negative trigger type. The alarm will have a couple of wires, probably joined together and probably on a ring terminal screwed onto the bodywork somewhere. It is possible that either the ring terminal has worked loose or one of the wires is not making a very good contact. What alarm do you have? - I may be able to tell you what colours to be looking for.
  20. I know the car is no comparison but I had a 3 litre Capri that kept overheating and my local friendly Ford dealer did a pressure test on the cooling system. I don't know exactly what they did because I left the car with them, but apparently it did show up fault. If I remember correctly, (bear in mind this was 10 years ago), it was a leaking inlet manifold gasket. I'm not sure if the pressure test showed this up or they were just lucky by removing this bit first!
  21. Whats with all this big colourful text ??? I might be late in on this one but, Alex, have you had the system pressure tested?
  22. That'll be Martins bestest friend! Sorry, couldn't resist
