  1. Yep, that should all be OK. If it's an early version of Smart Windows, it may need manual programming, but other than that, it'll be fine. The exposed port is for Wizard connection. You'll need to connect it to the external port on the 650.
  2. Yes. What version of Smart windows have you got? G4 or earlier?
  3. Also available in PM flavour!
  4. Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm just about to jump in a nice warm bath... That'll be the second time I've been soaked today! Pete, if you want an alarm done, send me a PM and I'm sure we can arrange something.
  5. ... For helping me fix my car! Some time back, my car developed a slight misfire at idle. closer investigation showed a slight loss in compression on no. 4 cylinder. (20 psi lower than the rest). Worryingly, when the head came off, we found that a valve seat had come away, and been pushed back up by the returning motion of the valve. Only now, it wasn't sitting right and as such, wasn't sealing properly. Oddly, the engine actually ran very well aside from the misfire. Thankfully, the valve head didn't come off when the seat dropped! So, big thank you to Mark and Mig who spent all day with me on Saturday helping me fix things, and thanks to John K for supplying me with a new cylinder head to replace mine. Thanks guys!
  6. This is exactly what we are doing now for our daughter. She is going to sit the Kent test (11 plus) because she is more than capable of passing, but she doesn't want to go to the grammer school (we only have one in this area). Being the evil parents we are, we are taking her to look at all the schools, so she can make up her own mind. My son is already at secondary school which was billed as the worst school in the area because it's in the middle of an awful estate. The parents at our primary school wouldn't even go to look around it, they just believed all the tripe everyone went on about. Surprising how my son keeps seeing faces from primary school turning up there after transferring from their "better" secondary schools! My advise would be-look at ALL the schools you are eligible to attend. NEVER take someone else's word for it-judge for yourself. A school that suits someone else's child may not suit yours. Let yourself be guided by your child's feeling for a school-after all it's them that have to attend it-not you. Don't let you child be put off a school he likes because none of the other kids he knows from school will go there-how often do we retain those friendships throughout secondary school? Lastly, be VERY wary of moving house to get into a school. Most "catchment" areas now don't exist in the first instance. Schools have a criteria list to follow and just because you live opposite the school gate will NOT guarantee your child a place. Someone that lives 5 miles away could get preference over your child if that school is their closest school.
  7. I've seen this several times before. Sadly, we, (the customer and I), have always opted for the quick / cheap repair of simply connecting the rear light circuit back to a wire that goes live with lighting. I'm fairly sure that the actual fault lies with the bulb failure unit in the passenger side rear quater panel...
  8. The Avantguard isn't insurance approved, so be careful if your insurance company requires you to have a Thatcham approved system. The C650 is a good system. DON'T use GAP, and personally, I'd avoid anyone from Ebay too. Unless you know they're going to do a good job, and will come back to you if it goes wrong or needs adjustment!
  9. Wood? - What wood?... There ain't no wood here, just a lot of trees... There are none so blind as those who do not wish to see...
  10. Yes. Same with the VVTi as well.
  11. That looks really good! I'm seriously, really impressed. Well done Genna! Next time get Lee to do some of the work and you can take pictures of him working
  12. I believe that belongs to Ben, AKA Soonto"has"soop.
  13. Thats exactly what we thought, hence trying to get them earlier if possible.
  14. My work colleague wants to get his dad a couple of tickets to see West Ham against Arsenal on the 29 September? Apparently the tickets are only available to the general public from the 19th. He's wants the tickets for his dads 60th birthday and obviously leaving it 10 days before hand isn't ideal... If anyone can help, please send me a PM. Thanks in advance
  15. 430 SRR, 500+ on a dynapack. Glad to see it's working out at last for you Jon. Don't get too hung up of numbers though. Remember all dyno's vary, so it's almost impossible to compare results. Good luck!
  16. It should be the inner brake lights that act as fog lights. I don't really understand what you're saying is wrong. If the fog lights are on, and you apply the brakes, all four should be lit up... How can you tell the brakes lights are operating through the fog lights? As for putting wires to ground, before you do, can you show me what diagram you're working from?
  17. No probs mate. If you need/want to come down my way, I'm in Sittingbourne.
  18. If you can get to Watford next Wednesday, I'm at Phoenix all day and happy to have a quick look
  19. I was at the zoo today Phone stayed at home
  20. Same chorus, different artist
  21. I'd guess that you've just cut the single brake light wire in the main loom. You to go the loom on the lights side, (after plug), strip back the insualation and you'll find that 1 wire splits into 2. Obviously you only need to find/cut the one that goes to the inside brake light.
  22. Damn! - I thought text speak was difficult!
