  1. Shouldn't need to 'prime' an auto. My guess is that the Intellistart is 'seeing' a low voltage feeding back through the new tail lights instead of a clean 0v. I assume the alarm doesn't chirp on arming any more than twice?
  2. Pleasure as always Gerry. Glad it didn't take you too long to get home!
  3. Yeah, he's alright. Still as 'happy-go-lucky' as ever. Bit stockier than most will remember him now though as he spends most of his time in the gym!
  4. Dudes old car has now been pretty much stripped. Finally, the bodyshell needs to go. The shell has no doors. The roof panel, wings, glass, tailgate and bonnet are there, although the tailgate has no spoiler and the bonnet is... personalised Pics of the bonnet, (and shell), here, but since those pictures, the bonnet has been painted matt black. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=31544&highlight=bonnet It will need to be collected via trailor from Phoenix in Watford. Please note, it's NOT a rolling shell. (Although it could be made to be a rolling shell quite easily) I have no idea on the value of this, so please feel free to PM me with any offers and I will forward it on to Dude for approval.
  5. I've got lights in mine and never had any issues. I'm not aware of any legal implications with spacing. How they're used, is a different matter Mine are wired up to the high beam.
  6. John did map his own car, as did I, but that's only on an E-manage piggy back which is soooooooooooo much easier than than a full standalone. Even people that have experience and mapped several cars still don't get it right. As mush as I love tinkering, I wouldn't dream of attempting to map a stand-alone without someone to by my side. All MHO of course
  7. Gav, it's CAN communication, and yes, you do need software and a converter cable.
  8. I can't tell you who the company was specifically, but it was arranged by Dude by a machine shop local to him in Brighton whilst the car was owned by Whitelightning. HTH
  9. Not that I need it... I'm really busy at work... Honest I'd just feel happier knowing that it's still there
  10. You should only hear that noise on lift off really, unless something is wrong elsewhere...
  11. I wouldn't want to try to record it! Does the car have an AFR gauge? - If not, I'd suggest getting to the nearest rollong road, (off boost), as quick as possible, just to make sure that isnt what's happening. - If it is det, it's just a matter of time...
  12. In case you're still looking, the climate ecu/control unit, (whatever you prefer to call it), is a cream coloured plastic box that normally lives on top of the radio.
  13. Did it sould a bit like a few small screws rattling around in a tin? - If so, that sounds worryingly like detonation - Too weak AFR possibly? If was a fairly quiet repetative clicking coming from an auto gearbox, that has something to do with solenoids, but I can't elaborate any more than that.
  14. You're correct that the stock ECU. Run it on SUL, (97+) and you'll be OK. 95 with tolly maybe, but I wouldn't advice 95 on it's own. I don't think the stock ECU can retard the timing enough to cope with 95 by itself and you may experience det, leading to broken engine...
  15. I'm sorry to have to say this, but you Sir, are a blithering idiot. TurboFit have cocked up many, many peoples cars and cost many members on here lots of money. When TurboFit went pop, (which was inevitable due to the 'quality' of their workmanship), most of the TurboFit staff, and cars, went straight over the road to JDP. Do you honestly expect people on here to believe that, because it's a different company, they will change their working practices? - Come on!?! Secondly, considering the above, you expect people on here to recommend other people go to where these people now work? - Please!?! As for the advertising. Again, you really are showing your severe lack of intelligence. Yes, TurboFit paid to advertise on here. At one point, many people thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. Now that it's become apparent that they are the automotive equivalent to the black death, can you see any advertisements for them? People thought Milli Vanilli were good until it was discovered that they were a farce! JDP motors may well have many satisfied customers. Great. If they stick to servicing and MOT's, I'm sure they'll be fine. The Tuning/modifying market is a very different game. Now, be a good little boy and go back to your Audi club where spark plugs are the pinnacle heights of performance tuning.
  16. From memory, it's a light green, possibly with silver bands. It's the lightest green within that section of loom. It will alternate from 12v with the boot shut, to ground with the boot open.
  17. Whilst I can see where you're coming from, I think that known bad traders should be here for all to see to prevent the same thing from happening again. A non-authorised trader doesn't mean they're not good. IYSWIM
  18. Me neither, and if it is, and if he has employed the staff that from TurboFit that caused so much heartache and financial loss to many of the members on here, then quite frankly, I really don't feel sorry for him and I'm not surprised that no one would want to take their car there If it does transpire that this is the company that is threatening legal action, I'd suggest they spend their money more wisely in employing properly qualified technicians, or attempting to train and qualify the technicians they do have, then demonstrating their achievements publicly to improve their public perception. Or, if it is true that this company have indeed bought out TurboFit, then maybe they could offer to spend the money they were considering using on legal action, to reimburse those previous TurboFit customers, or offer to rectify any issues free of charge, to show that they are people of good character. All my humble opinion of course
  19. Someone's fitting a Clifford and can't find the boot wire! Light green wire in drivers side sill loom
  20. Soooooo, just to clarify... In case I'm missing something... There is a company, which openly admitted to employing the staff from Turbofit, (probably the worst tuning company this club has ever seen - Check the clubs search facility to find out more), is not happy about the fact that club members on here are 'unhappy', or 'unwilling' to take their cars to this company, or recommend any one else to.... What's the problem? - I'm sure that this company would have sufficient time and staff qualified to high enough levels to quality control check every nut, bolt, screw and clip that their new mechanics touch. Other than a couple of newbies that have miraculously just bought Supra's, and immediately had them serviced at JDP, and a couple of other longer standing members that used to avidly support Turbofit, so obviously happy with their 'style' of workmanship. Has anyone else, that can identify a good quality of workmanship, actually had anything done by them?

    V reg cars

A car registered on V-car means that it has been subject to a total loss claim in one form or another. IIRC cat D is most minor, cat C is usually fairly serious, cat B means it can only be used as spare parts, and cat A means it must be crushed. - I could be wrong on that lot though.
  22. BL, 3 years 4 months, 12,000 miles, heat wrapped and no issues
  23. Hi Si. Sorry I didn't get to call you last night. I was late leaving work, then had to rush out to a family engagement. I didn't think you'd appreciate a call at 12.30 last night, so I thought I'd call this morning. I would have left a message, but you don't seem to have an answerphone facility.... I'll send you my numbers and try again later
  24. Errr, yeah, but you might want to edit that post so that the whole world doesn't know where it is
