  1. Whatever it is, it's something to do with voice recognition. That's definatly microphones on top of the cowling. What type of stereo do you have?
  2. Come on then... What's my prize
  3. 30,000 are kept in owners garages and barely driven due to stupidly high running costs and stupidly low reliability. 50,000 are sitting around in dealers forcourts waiting for rich people to have a moment of madness 9,999 are currently being repaired 30,000 have rusted away 1 is currently in use.... Expected to joint the 9,999 in about 5 minutes
  4. I would guess that the thing on the top of the steering column is a microphone, and the button to the side, tells the thing it's connected to to 'listen' for a voice command. Could be linked to a hands free kit, or a stereo with voice recognition, Sat nav etc. Do I get a prize if I'm right
  5. Count me in. I'll give it to my son for Christmas! I'll wrap it up in serveral boxes Russian Doll style!
  6. Whilst I'm not disagreeing with these reasons, I'd say it's because of these reasons that the car is cheap...
  7. Anyone fancy testing this theory? - But only test it if you know what your looking for if something was to be affected. (Preferably with an AFR gauge, to be safe).
  8. Can't you tell us on here in case someone has the same problem?
  9. Ignore that, I didn't look at the picture and see that it was an NA
  10. Does anyone know for certain, if the MAP sensor on a UK spec does anything other than monitor boost for over boost/fuel cut purposes? It has nothing to do with the fuelling as that's all done by the MAF sensor. I'm sure I remember Alex simply disconnecting the MAP sensor on his VVTi, which also controls fuelling via a MAF sensor. If that's the case, you may not need an FCD. Simply remove the vacuum hose and block it up. I stand to be corrected if anyone knows for certain that the MAP sensor plays another part on a UK spec Please note, that other than a VVTi, this is NOT the case with a JDM Supra. The JDM Supra DOES use the MAP sensor to control fuelling, and unplugging this will result in all sorts of problems
  11. LOL, you need help! Thanks to everyone that voted. Dana's school have got through to the finals. They won by 65%. Dana was so happy she screamed with excitement when they announced the results this morning.
  12. Thanks guys. Voting still open until midnight!
  13. LOL, I didn't expect you to have to listen to them! Thanks guys! Keep it up!
  14. My little girl has done a Christmas carol with her school for the local radio, and is desperate to win. Obiously I'm biased, but I do think theirs is the best anyway! If any of you could see your way do posting a vote for GROVE PARK SCHOOL, I'd really appreciate it, and so will Dana http://www.invictafm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=476876&spid=392&pollid=16458&iframe=
  15. Has anything happened to the ignition wiring ? - Turbo timer perhaps? If you can make it to Phoenix in Watford on a Wednesday, I'm happy to have a look for you. Or if you fancy a drive to Kent one evening,(although that sounds cold, dark and possibly damp!)
  16. Do the ignition lights come on? Specifically the battery and Engine Management light?
  17. Sounds more like James May to me!
  18. For Intellistart to work on an auto, it needs to see the bonnet closed, and an earth, (return), on the brake light wire before it will even crank. If it's cranking, it needs the crank time adjusted properly, and an RPM input programmed so that it 'knows' when the engine is running at idle speed. Is it flashing the indicators? - If so, how many times? If it's flashing three times and not even attempting to crank, Its 'seeing' something wrong. Either a small amount of voltage from the brake lights, meaning you may have a high resistance earth connection at the rear lights, or it could be seeing an earth on the bonnet switch line, which could be corrosion on the bonnet pin switch itself causing just enough continuity to earth to mess up the intellistart. You can try disconnecting the bonnet switch to see if that makes any difference...
  19. Get yourself four new wheels and tyres and you should be OK!
  20. I'd put large amounts of money on it being used as a form of monitoring rpm for an alarm with remote start.
  21. One of my work collegues is selling his Mitsubishi Evo 8. It's a really good genuine car with very minor modifications and has been very well looked after... Needs a good home! Offers over £15k Full details here:- http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/272582.htm
