Well done to all the Supra champs! - Keep it up! Who needs 4WD? Might help me a bit! Rob, you and I both know there's a lot more to come from your car. It's paying off slowly! We now share something in common... We've both had our butts kicked by Fensport! - Only, I had no excuse. It beat me outright and there was nothing I could do about it!

Scotchlocks are awful! - They almost always cause problems. If they're wired up properly, you remove power from the unit whenever the ignition is switched off...

Both cases of bad installtion by the sound of it. In the manual, it tells you how to recall the last 8 trigger events of the alarm. Tell me whats setting it off, and what model you have, and I'll tell you how to fix it

I really can't see how a Toad alarm can 'kick the crap out of a Clifford'. Don't get me wrong, i love the Ai606 for it's simplicity and reliablility, and having been personally involved in it's R&D, I know it's a good unit, but to be fair, it's pretty basic if you compare it to the features on the Concept 650. The C650 has a dual zone proximity sensor. - That means that movement on the inside of the vehicle will trigger the alarm, and a movement too close to the outside of the vehicle will give a 'warn-away' tone. Proximity sensors are unaffected by wind, meaning that you can leave windows open, roof off, and it will still operate the same. The Toad alarm only has ultrasonic interior protection - Great for most cars, but not ideal for aero's The Clifford has RPM dependant auto locking - The alarm will lock the doors whenever the RPM exceeds ~2000 rpm and will continue to do so every time a door is opened. So if you let a passenger out, it will re-lock the doors. The Toad has autolock. - In this case, it will lock the doors once, within 10 seconds of the doors being shut and the ignition turning on. The Clifford has 200ft remote range The Toad has 20 ft The Clifford optional outputs that can be used for many different functions, including ignition over-run/turbo timer. The Toad also has optional outputs, but they're far more awkward to use. (you have to push and hold a button for 3 seconds before the feature will operate. The Clifford has a programmable 'intelligent' siren. - You can choose up to 6 different siren tones from 15 different variations to personalise the siren sound, making it easier to recognise your alarm instantly. - It will also stop chirping on arm/disarm to let you know when the internal siren batteries are dying. - It also changes the arm/disarm tone to let you know when the battery in your remote is going flat The Toad has a standard battery back up siren. The Clifford has an optional feature called Blackjax - Excellent anti-hijack feature that doubles as protection against car theft even if the correct keys are stolen The Toad has nothing similar The Clifford can easily be connected to a remote start system that is also safe for manual cars. Intellistart Toad do not offer a remote start, but aftermarket ones can be fitted with lots of wiring alteration and relays, and ONLY for auto's. What I will say, is that Cliffords can pick up a bad reputation from two sources. Bad installation, and owners that are either technophobic or don't read the instruction manual. In both cases, the Toad will generally still maintain it's reliability. I've been in the trade for 15 years now, and both systems are probably the best out there IMO, (I have tried most). If you want a feature packed alarm and you like gadgets, go for the Clifford. (Avoid people like GAP that just want to throw it in and get away as quick as possible. If you just want a good quality, "it does what it says on the tin", go for the Toad. Hope that helps

Wheelspinning in 3rd and 4th gets boring after a while

I'd guess that my car is around a realistic 500+ in road trim, and yes, I'm used to it. Can't say it feels slow, but it doesn't scare me like it used to either. BUT, I am at the point where I wouldn't really want any more power for road use...
-
440's will be pretty much at their maximum running 100% duty at 1.2 bar. With 550's at least you have a bit more safety headroom to avoid melting a piston or two!

I wouldn't say 105,000 was, but 1,050,000 sounds like a fair bit

Sounds like a good price, for what looks like it could be a good spec. There are a couple of suspicious/unlikely items, put there, perhaps, to impress. My advice would be to ignore them, and assume they're stock components until you can find out more. Strengthened auto box and racing crankshaft, are two of those items, and the Mnes ECU and F-Con V are both different types of ECU. Whilst it is possible to have both of those ECU's in the car, it will almost certainly be the F-con looking after the engine, and the Mines ECU, doing some of the dummy work which a stock ECU could do equally well... Good luck!

Very helpful chap indeed. He does know a thing or two about those E-manage things!

Maybe, but I bet the ratio of knackered TF turbos/installs far outweigh all of the others put together... Again refering to ratios, with all the installs they did, the law of averages must state that they would eventually get one right! Some people don't need anyone to big them up. Their work and/or knowledge can speak for itself. I'm certainly not trying to 'big myself up' as you put it, but I AM pleased that people can finally see what I saw and tried to tell people over a year ago.

Oh dear.... I wondered how long it would take before someone tried to imply something...
-
I very much doubt it. But the reliability of Supra's should shoot up
-
I really can't see that happening in either case. What probably will happen, is their bookings will become even further advanced though. I doubt that anybody that takes pride in their work, would sacrifice quality.
-
Ian, I'd have more faith in letting you re-wire my entire car blindfolded, with one hand tied behind your back, using the same coloured wire throughout, and nothing more than Selotape to hold the joins together, than let anyone from TF plug in an AEM to my wiring loom.

Chantelle is registered on another forum which displays what 'section' the user is most prevalent in. For example, I'm fairly is you were to check Ian C. most of his posts would be in Technical. This 'could' work. I also don't want people thinking that I'm always right either. I'm not. I remember a post a little whle back where someone asked if going BPU would shorted the engines life expectancy. I replied 'no' as it's been proven that BPU Supras done properly are generally just as reliable as stock ones. However, Jake replies saying that 'yes, it would shorten the engines life, as any modification to up the power over stock, will have a knock on effect'. Obviously Jake was right, I was wrong.... Can't be perfect all the time

Thanks Ian, I thought it was fairly obvious too She's just airing her opinion based on what shes seen 'behind the scenes', and how it affected both me, and the people we know and saw. Sorry if that's a bit confusing

lol-now you sound like Matt! I only screen chit chat for him really and let him know if there's something he should read Chantelle

I did just send a huge rant by e-mail to Matt at work, but now it's retracted it's unnecessary In short Matt was also threatened, and as Tom says not a lot of people know what sheer hell he was put through. We saw a lot of Tom while everything was going on and it wasn't good at all seeing a friend suffer like that. We'll see what happens when the next "tuner" that knows their way round a supra turns up. LOL, It's nice to get 18 months worth of frustration off my chest

You were one of the few that did listen. I don't blame people for not wanting to hear bad things about them. Sooooo many people were saying how good they were. Sadly, I'm not sure many, if any, could spot the poor quality work. And those that did, didn't want to speak out for fear of being flamed.

Appologies in advance for another marathon post.... From my point of view, I DID try to let people know the appaling work done on Toms car. Now, very briefly, the deleted thread where all this started, started with Tom stating some facts about the bad work on his car, then, along came Jamie P and accused Tom of 'stealing' the kit from Turbo Fit. (They had shipped the car down to Kent, because they couldn't get it to run - What a suprise! ), after seeing the abomination they had done to his car, and the extra expense Tom was having to pay other people to get the car to a position where it would start, Tom told Sam and Greg that he would give them a chance to fix the problems, (and gave them a list), before he would pay for the kit. I thought that was fair enough, but Jamie didn't. At this point, Tom and Jamie with some other TF fans, were starting to make Tom look like the bad guy, and making out that Tom was lying. That's where I started posting, and gave a true account of what I'd seen. And I got exactly the same treatment. Jamie and the others all made out that Tom was still trying to steal the kit and leave poor Turbo Fit out of pocket, never mind that poor Tom was without his car for 3 months at that point alone! Whilst I was accused of dramatisation, and general stirring. I think the thread ended with Paul Evans making a statement that he thought Turbo fit were great and implying that I was acting as a puppet on behalf of Terry S, and that it was out of order to slate Turbo Fit as they had put everything into their business and they are great guys..... The thread got locked at that point, and I was left feeling so angry that people just couldn't see the wood for the trees. I did continue to tell people face to face, or sometimes via PM if I was asked an opinion, but after being treated like that and being accused of not being able to speak my own mind, I couldn't see the point of speaking out against these 'heros', when people on here worshipped both Turbo Fit and the likes of Jamie P. I also declined to post against them as I was, at that time, an authorised trader, and I considered it bad etiquette to run down another trader. - As I'm now a 'free man', I feel I can say what I like Both Graham, and Gaz have already said that I had warned them about it, but in both cases, other people persuaded them otherwise. Can you imagine how sould destroying it is to give advice to people and then see they choose to ignore you? They weren't the only ones, just the ones with enough balls to admit it. Lets face it, Turbo Fits PR machine was indeed flawless.

Oi! - I'm not strange! Fantastic time and terminal speed there Leon. Bloody well done. Keep going! :D:D

Does it state anything in your contract about them being able to terminate employment? I used to work for a huge electrical company and everyone who gave notice there was told to go immediately, but I do think they were paid up until their notice date. It came into force after someone at head office gave a months notice and then messed about with the computers changing wording on items so when we printed invoices we got stupid phrases instead of model numbers. Funny at first, but annoying on a very busy Saturday. Matt's new employer also seems to be doing this, but I think it's more in case they poach other members of staff when they go. Chantelle

Terry needs to comment on the work regarding Phoenix. Most of the work done on that car was way before the days of Phoenix...
