  1. Marty, are the files you want to move around already on your home network?
  2. I'm disappointed not to see any photos of you gaffer-taped to an office chair whilst wearing a gimp mask, or are they the ones you're not publishing?
  3. I use a pair of homeplugs from ebuyer and I'm pleased with them. Each one has a 100mb port inside it. I'd recommend the ones with a passthrough socket unless you've got more sockets in your home than you know what to do with; they much prefer to be plugged straight into the wall, not on an extension bar. ...or... Put in a telephone socket extension, so that the router can sit beside the PC.
  4. No amount of modifying that another owner can do to their Supra would make me feel ashamed to own a Supra myself. No-one on here, not even Mr G6, has made me feel ashamed. When I see hideously modified examples, I just have a little chuckle to myself and continue eating my cornflakes.
  5. I thought AFR had moved to Pease Pottage.
  6. Sounds like it's the same person. Nasty piece of work, a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
  7. The bit in bold is indicative of a knackered rad cap. A towel wrapped round it won't help, not even close. It is possible that there may be a crack in the rad near the rad cap; to investigate this I'd thoroughly dry the area with a towel, run the engine to temperature and look for where the steam is coming from, and look where the rad is getting wet from the steam. Hopefully that would reveal something. Or, get a garage to do a pressure test on the cooling system: that would find the leak. If it were me, unless I can see a crack in the radiator, I'd change the rad cap and try it again.
  8. I'd keep the horns. They're part of what makes a UK supra a UK supra.
  9. You deviant. I bet you go shopping in shopping centres too, and see shoppers doing their shopping. I think that's disgusting.
  10. That's probably either be a 2nd hand refurb from a random ebayer, or a cheap pattern part.
  11. Quite good that. Some of those women in the lift *desperately* avoiding any kind of eye contact with him! Don't worry love, he's not going to kill your children, burn your house down and sleep with your husband. He's just a man doing some public beatboxing. (Or is that banned as well now to make the shopping centre a safe, pleasent environment? Read the prominent signs forbidding it on your way out.)
  12. Very nice supra indeed, I do like them looking stock. A bit of a theme developing regarding garage recommendations: AFR or SRD are both safe hands with lots of experience.
  13. It could be that the rad cap seal is faulty, and doesn't hold pressure in the cooling system. Under this condition you'd expect some steam to come from it once the engine is up to temperature. If you can, I'd get hold of a replacement rad cap and see if that helps.
  14. I heard you the first time. Glad you found what it is. At least you can read up on what it does, and have taken a view on whether it's salvageable or not.
  15. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-15236758 The central story raises a few eyebrows (and journos have probably written it to do so; I'm not sure if we're getting the whole picture). But, is it usual for shopping centres to have a "No Photography" policy? Why would they do that? It sounds like yet another blanket rule to protect against a perceived (and not necessarily real) risk of litigation. Bizarre.
  16. I agree that the best thing would be to get the PC re-built, but if it were me and I wanted to avoid that then I would try to identify the virus. Is there any behaviour or text that you can google to find out what it is?
  17. When you say the car "shoots up hot coolant", where does it shoot from? The rad cap? I'm not sure if your logic is correct although the thermostat is a cheap part so is probably worth getting changed. IIRC, car thermostats prevent coolant from circulating through the radiator. When closed they confine the coolant to within or near the engine block. If my thermostat was stuck shut, I'd expect the radiator to stay cool for a while then only get moderately warm. Have you changed the rad cap and checked the cap is sealing properly against the radiator?
  18. For a UK auto, I'd say £6k was at the low end. For a UK manual, it's way too low.
  19. I'd bet all the drivers at the Ring would agree it can be dangerous. But for many people, that's just an abstract word that means nothing until they themselves are involved in a crash. When they're told that it is dangerous, a lot probably just think, "Cool!" or, "What-evva!" To use a different example, most people driving on UK roads would admit that driving can be dangerous. Yet lots and lots (a significant proportion) still text or make calls whilst driving. They don't modify their behaviour because it's not real enough for them until they've put their own car into a ditch or stuffed it into the back of another vehicle.
  20. I think you give the Average Joe way, way too much credit. There are a lot people who are not as good as they think they are.
  21. Yes, post photos on here please. If you pass muster people will vote for you.
  22. I feel for you chap. Not much concrete advice I can give, but hang in there. The uncertainty is perhaps the worst part of it.
  23. Nice! He's very fast and smoother than a pint of Old Sparrowfart.
  24. These are things that can lower your insurance. Most come with a sting in the tail (i.e. they will restrict how you can use the car, or sting you if you do need to make a claim). Increase your optional excess Limit your mileage as much as possible (3000-4000ish?) Some policies limit your insurance to not be valid for night driving with a corresponding drop in the premium. Don't insure it for commuting Add your mum to the policy as a named driver (I don't know if this old chestnut still works, but it might be worth a go). Try a good insurance broker. There have been one or two cheap-ish (
