  1. We are always getting trouble with this and returning goods to our suppliers. It reached a peak when the suppliers refused to accept a return because the goods were inadequately packed - just the point we were making to them as the goods were sent back exactly as received. We ALWAYS take pics of damaged goods in the packaging etc as soon as damage is discovered - well worth it when the arguing starts.
  2. It's just another headline grabber while the scum slip something else out which will be totally missed and will happen a lot sooner than 10 years from now. Does anyone keep a count of the number of 3,5 and 10 year plans Blair currently has running? Must be scores.
  3. probably not much good in a bedroom, but mine came with a letterbox adapter which is handy as it stands by my unused front door. No hot air seeping back in or stuffing cracks around hoses As I live in a terrace which fronts directly onto a path quite a few pedestrians have had a shock from the hot air blast which is noticeable 4-5 feet past the door
  4. do do do the funky pipex!

    Whistleblower

Handy to know they are nearly all bent so you can get a discount though!
  6. She's better than my lot, they would have simply deleted everything in sight and then bitched because nothing worked any more
  7. Brittania did mine with no problems - I even stressed that it was an import.
  8. Not Supertyres at Maldon by any chance? They didn't get mine right the first time so I took it back and they sorted it properly.
  9. You probably won't be surprised to hear that TB has given the yanks the power to haul anyone in from over here for questioning on mere suspicion. No burden of proof, no way out. You will be even less surprised to hear that it only cuts one way.
  10. The first time I went there it was ok to start with but went out again really quickly on the front - took it back and they did it again gratis and it stayed fixed. I've often wondered which bit they didn't tighten up properly the first time around
  11. Those were the days, all the evidence you needed that the world was in an irreversible slide to doom was the existence of Rick Astley.
  12. I was wondering the same thing about the cost. Last time mine was laser aligned it cost me £110 and that seemed pretty cheap compared to what I had heard. The guys spent about an hour on it, so I don't reckon they would have made much out of it at £23

    What jobs?

Well it wasn't as easy as it sounds - we were having a bespoke system written for us and I was the only one there who really knew anything about computers. For about 3 years I was actually doing two jobs which was heavy going but worth it in the end. IT was a lot more interesting in those days as well, Microsoft hadn't got a total stranglehold on the software market and there were loads of competing solutions for whatever you wanted to do (admittedly many of them were cr*p). I would say IT is picking up if anything, rather than slowing down. No vacancies at the moment I'm afraid

    What jobs?

Another notch for the IT counter then, but didn't bother with Uni as I couldn't see the point. Spent a few years as an insurance underwriter which was ultimately boring and switched careers when I was 30 ish into IT. Winged it all the way to board level
  15. I remember Toyota doing just what they wanted to their turbos in WRC and they were thrown out...
  16. You can't channel-hop anywhere at the moment with out running into it somewhere on satellite In fact it is on right now
  17. Good luck if you have shorted a relay m8, I've always hated toyota lighting circuitry - in my long and dishonourable list I have fried the relays in a Carina (don't ask) and not content with this I went on to do the same with a rwd Celica a couple of years later. Last time I touched them!
  18. Oh great - so as well as being "transmissionist", "ageist" is now also thrown in for good measure. Obviously anyone over 40 is incapable of counting to 6 or using their left leg....
  19. Not really into that stuff, but you've gotta say that is an afternoon well spent!
  20. Oooerr - I should vote for UKIP apparently which came as a bit of a shock.. With postal voting and boundary shifting the system has been massively rigged in favour of this bunch of chancers and spivs - it would take a massive swing to unseat them. I think another 4 years continual twisting of the truth will make me vomit - actually it is not even twisting it is outright lies day after day and they know we know and they don't care. They are laughing at us all. Needless to say I won't be voting for this lot, as the lesser of two evils it is Tory for me. The other parties are all irrelevant
  21. But there is a point :- 1. They aren't normally going to do that, it is up to you to provide it not them to go running around for you. 2. Even if they do you never have your evidence yourself and you are back to square one next time 3. Since January no insurer wants to rack up unnecessary complaints which they have to then report to the FSA
  22. I think he did well to get a quote at all on a car like the supe with a DD - most people have to drive a micra or something cruddy and then still beg on their hands and knees.
  23. Tell them that you are not satisfied that they will not provide written evidence of your bonus as well as the number of years you have been claim free. Ask to speak to a manager and repeat the above. If they don't agree to give it to you tell them you wish to make an official complaint and make sure you use the word "complaint". If they won't let you speak to a manager use the word "complaint" sooner. This will kick in a whole set of procedures they probably won't want to go through - it won't do any harm to mention the Financial Services Authority either.
