  1. Colour Magic will only make it worse imho - used some once on the bonnet of a red celica and it was a mess. Only way is to cut down to naked paint and hope you hit the good stuff before the primer
  2. Awful where I work as well - always bangs and scrapes and people always try to worm their way out of it and claim it wasn't them. I actually saw a guy hit my car once and the paint was transferred car-to-car and he still tried to deny it
  3. A**hole Probably right 'coz I AM the Boss
  4. Normal - which can't be right as the $^%£$^% thing never leaves my side
  5. Good try Pete! - I need people with their own uk-wide backbone and a big unbundling programme, which narrows the field a bit unfortunately :eek2:
  6. I can't say too much but one of our providers is about to discover that screwing us around wasn't such a bright idea....
  7. Too right! Two whole days without having to hear any more BS from one of our ISP's
  8. hehe 20 mins to go and silvestre butts an opponent right in front of the ref - OFF
  9. Never heard of that one before - what is the housing stock of the UK and how many sparks would it take to recertify them all at what intervals? Even Prezza couldn't pass something as mad as that could he? :upside:
  10. More Euro Directives brought to us by Pointless Prescott. What is the point of a law which is impossible to enforce? When the law came into force there were exactly 0 councils set up to carry out their duties

    10W-60 oil

I'm not a member of the club they are a bit up themselves for my liking You'll no doubt be surprised to hear my 996 NA is swimming in Mobil 1 0-40 at the moment - what is the non-member's price please? Not sure how much I have left in the garage at the moment.
  12. Ahem - apologies for a slight but as one system is being touted over another here goes! I have a proposal in front of me to spend shedloads on a Mitel system for a multiple branch setup. How do you guys rate Mitel? (I've been itching to use the hijack smilie for ages)

    10W-60 oil

I very much appreciate the insight oilman has given us into why some oils are better than others even though they look the same on the tin. ISTR Silkolene oils are very highly thought of in the motorcycle world where levels of tune regularly exceed that achieved in the car world. PS. It's simpler in the Porker world, they simply approve the oils you should use by name and/or detailed spec and you can't really complain if you use something else and it goes bang.
  14. Texaco SUL feels the same as well although it is rated 97 and not 98. Supposed to have whizzo cleaning agents also.
  15. Might be a dumb suggestion but it caught me out and you aren't getting many replies. Is the hub one which can be (optionally) powered ? I had one of those and unless it WAS powered my 2000 box simply didn't recognise it for what it was. I've also seen problems a couple of times with usb 2 devices being plugged into usb 1.0 connectors - should work but hey this is windows. XP seems much better than 2000 at sorting this stuff out. PS. you do know that the pc connector is good? Good luck
  16. 850cc mini van with regulation mattress in the back and speakers glued to the sidewalls. Turned out the front was mainly cornfllake boxes (really) BUT it had a starter button in the floor way before all these Hypercars got them!
  17. I've got a Valentine One and I hardly ever hear the laser alert go off. As Matt rightly says, they have actually got to be using it to emit laser and as there is very little scatter they have got to be aiming it at you or a car very close to you to get an alert.
  18. Depends where you go really - are you sure they are laser traps you have been going by, they don't use it much in this part of the world. I've only ever seen handheld laser twice around here, they are much keener on handheld radar or mini gatsos
  19. By never opening his mouth again ?
  20. Damnit! I was going to use it myself :)
  21. I was never one of those people who always wanted a porker - they always reminded me too much of a volkswagen variant in looks and I hated the handling even though you got amazing traction from having the engine over the rear wheels. As I said mine is a C4 (996)and the difference is unbelievable. I can take this onto a wet roundabout at ridiculous speeds and it never so much as twitches. No way you could say that about a Supra, in fact no way I would attempt anything like the cornering speeds these things can cope with in a Supe. Anyway I didn't raise this, I know it is the wrong place and extolling the virtues of a porker on here is not going to win any prizes Trouble is most of the porsche forums are well up themselves and not much of a laugh
  22. So you're not too keen then
  23. Well - I would be gutted to be shot by a burglar I didn't think had a gun when I had a perfectly good shotgun upstairs for instance. The present system seems to have an emphasis on the householder evaluating the situation maybe half asleep and paying the penalty if his assessment of the threat is incorrect by either being injured himself if he uses too weak a defence or being arrested if he uses too much. I know we cannot sensibly advocate blowing all burglars away but I think the emphasis should be strengthened in favour of an entitlement to defend yourself with whatever means are to hand bearing in mind that your opponent will in all likelihood be brandishing some kind of implement at you while you consider your options. There isnt a perfect answer I suppose but I would like to see the scales tipped a little in the favour of the householder rather than the person who simply should not be there at all.
