  1. With a price tag of £70000, that is not a Supra. It falls into the same category as the R35 GTR, in the sense that they carried on the name but marketed it to a completely different type of person. It seems they are trying to cash in one the names but make it so that only the upper class can afford them, so what is the point, just call it something else. The type of person that will buy the new Supra are the kind of people that work in management roles for "administration", or "consultants" or "human resources", within companies that don't seem to have any kind of discernible product or service, yet somehow seem to make shit tons of money while everyone else drowns in poverty.
  2. Do you think it could be the converter? The only thing is that it was working fine before I changed the speedo. I changed the speedo as the odometer was broken, now in the new speedo cluster the odometer works but nothing else does. That's another thing, the trip does not work either, when you reset it to 0000, all the numbers roll half way over to 1111 then it gets stuck. Why would the trip not work, but the odometer does? I thought the odometer was driven mechanically by the trip, so if the trip doesn't work, then neither should the odometer?
  3. I'm not sure if the fuel gauge is wrong, it just seemed that when the cluster was replaced the fuel reading was higher than I remember. However this morning when driving to work the needle was getting "stuck" at certain speeds. When I was slowing from 60 on the speedo, the needle was stuck for a couple of seconds before jumping down to the current speed, and it seemed to be doing it constantly i.e the needle was not showing a current speed, as though the signal is getting interrupted or something? Also, when stopped the needle was spiking on the speedo even when the car was stationary. I have driven home this afternoon and the speedo is completely dead, no reading at any point during the journey home.
  4. No, it only sits at 25 when the ignition is on. Turns out the needle was in the wrong place, the speed is still off slightly but it's closer than it was. The fuel gauge might be correct, but since the needle does not return to empty with the ignition off, there is no way of knowing I guess.
  5. I don't think so, the faces on both clusters are the stock Toyota ones.
  6. To update this as well, the leaking of the oil stopped a while ago, but the noise remained. I have taken it to Toyota today for the MOT and they had a look at the differential, and they seem to think that an LSD has been fitted, but it is faulty and that is what is causing the grinding noise. If the differential is faulty, what is the best solution? Should I buy the internals or a whole unit?
  7. Just to update this again, I have got another dash cluster with the correct mileage, and I have swapped the speedo and the odo/trip within over to my car. At first I thought everything was fine as the odometer seemed to be working fine, but I think it is now rolling over in kilometres, not miles. I know the distance of my journey and it is saying I have done more miles. Furthermore, the speedo now does not show the correct speed, I don't think it's a case of the miles/kilometre conversion going wrong, as when the car is stationary the speedo shows 25mph. The faces are identical on the two clusters, and the part numbers are the same, so I don't know what is wrong now? Also, the fuel gauge doesn't seem to be showing the correct amount, but I've got no idea how to prove if the fuel gauge is working.
  8. Same old stupid ricer crap, same old stupid prices. You know what would be nice to see? A Supra that hasn't belonged to a four year old.

    New to supras

Didn't you guys read the advert? It's in brand new condition, and it must be seen, all followed by multiple exclamation marks. They're the signs of a truly legitimate and professional organisation.
  10. Can this differential be fitted to a tiptronic auto?
  11. The Supra was designed to not have any crap on the hood. I always thought it looked like a cheap ricer add on.
  12. Well if the first page of this thread is anything to go by, if you swear it means you are poor. Makes sense I guess, everyone else on here seems to have money to burn.
  13. The days of the humble enthusiast are long gone. The people that buy Supra's now are the "I'm richer than you" types.
  14. But again, that's market manipulation at work. Over the years there has been so much embellishment and conjecture regarding the differences that people have believed it.
  15. You know I heard these journalistic types were smart, but that is way over my head.
  16. No, like his father who assaults people at go kart tracks and beat up his wife. But whether I like him or not is irrelevant, he is considered by the officials to be above the rules, and that is what I am unhappy about. But wait, you already knew that.
  17. I love how everyone is completly missing the point of today's latest ruling. Verstappen is apparently exempt from the rules, that's the issue here.
  18. I guess the moral of this story is, don't bother trying to race Verstappen, the Schumacher effect will only get you penalised.
  19. So you think that little faggot Verstappen did nothing wrong today or the previous race?
  20. This sport just gets better and better, not only is Verstappen immune to any punishment, now other people are getting penalized for shit that he does. Someone kill me.
  21. Why? Because F1 is something I used to love when I was a kid, and it kills me when I see what a disaster the sport has become. I don't have many things in life, and when I see something I used to hold so dear slowly getting destroyed it annoys me, understand? Apparently that's not a legitimate reason to get pissed off with something.
  22. The FIA was to blame for the death of Bianchi. When Sutil had his accident, the safety car should have been deployed without question. But of course, the FIA decided they weren't at fault at all, I guess it's easy to blame the other party when they're in a coma or dead as they can't defend themselves. The most disgusting thing the FIA has done without question. I'm glad the family of Bianchi is taking action against the FIA. Rosberg was deemed to be within the rules, you can't really blame him as such, there was an oppurtunity to capitalise and he took it. The FIA itself needs a complete overhaul, the people making the decisions are out of their minds, and I don't think the sport has ever been this poorly officiated. Even when that idiot Balestre was in charge it wasn't this ridiculous.
  23. This might seem like a dumb thing to say, but I have an A02A differential that isn't welded and it already does this.
  24. Watched The New York Ripper recently, not as bad as some people make out, it's definitely one of Fulci's better films, but too bad the BBFC still feel the need to cut it. I can't believe in this day and age they are still refusing to waive the cuts, for whatever reason the BBFC has a particular complex with sexual violence, but any other form of violence is deemed totally acceptable. I've seen the footage that is missing, and read the BBFC classification guidelines relating to sexual violence, and there is no reason for it to be cut. I guess we'll have to wait for a future uncut release once the BBFC decides to treat adults like adults.
