  1. Basically they are the same, gentleman's agreed between Japanese manufactures to stop the BHP levels getting too competitive was to make them no higher than 280bhp.
  2. Do you have a TT or a NA as its a very different job, takes much longer on the NA.
  3. Supragal cars finished then:D To be fair sure it looks a bit crap but that must have taken some work!
  4. I always listen to music when driving, but I know what you mean. Because if I get lost or get into a situation where I have to get through small spaces or enter a car park etc I always turn it right down or off. I have more of a problem with the radio always being a load of rubbish and being bored of all my cd's.
  5. Take a look at http://www.modelreports.com for a better idea.
  6. Almost, anything younger than 10 years old needs an SVA.
  7. Its only the cars without model reports manufactured after 1998 that are effected. All the imports you've seen coming in are pre 98 cars.
  8. Going up from a Supra isn't easy but I would also consider a skyline, a Honda S2000 and my favourite although not to everyone taste a C5 Corvette.
  9. I always click 'view new threads' hence never really look at what section I'm viewing. I also always log straight onto http://www.mkivsupra.net/bbs. Never go to mkivsupra.net, then click BBS.
  10. I made the same mistake and ended up with a plate that didn't fit from fancy plates! Dude posted a number before of someone that I used that make the correct plate size to fill the hole in the bumper and problem solved.
  11. Did have to question that myself but couldn't be bothered so left it, so 'Larry Grayson' it is then.
  12. Had the pleasure of a short test flight in this beast today. To summarise its ridiculously quick! To start with I thought ok this is nice, the roof was off, nice music etc. We get onto the first bit of straight road and all of sudden the turbo spools up and bang the power just hits you like you wouldn't believe! Dude tells me its not running 100% at the moment but its without a doubt the faster car I've ever been in and I cant imagine that changing any time soon. I followed in mine for a bit afterwards and the sound which I believe is the external waste gate, sounds suburb it certainly got a few looks:D All in all very impressed so thanks Dude.
  13. Got to see your car today CJ and its coming on very nicely indeed! This is going to be one larry, everyone look at me, attention seeker so I hope your not shy:D
  14. The price of the mighty Supra varies so much! They are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Current owners should just enjoy the car and not look into values too much. A old friend of mine said a friend of his bought a manual TT for £4350 at the auction unregistered straight of the boat and I said I didn't believe him and it must have been a NA but maybe not then? I'm still waiting to see it as the guys not local. What's it like down there cptsideway, are they accident repairs or very high miles?
  15. BTW I agree that the gold is very good.
  16. Mines always been blue and watery and separated I just thought that was how it came and hence never thought much of it. Its a very, very gentle cut so possibly would not get rid of swirl marks.
  17. Looks lovely, your old ones arnt bad either though!

    Newbie!

Hi and welcome, £8000 for a non turbo seems a bit expensive to me unless it really good. If you look hard enough you can get TT for that sort of money. Fuel wise on a mixture of roads before the new exhaust I was getting 200 miles to £25 of petrol but that's pretty calm driving, city driving does use up noticeably more fuel If its a non turbo it will be an import as all non turbos are. Touch wood I've had no problems with the non turbo. The TT is obviously faster with the risk of the turbos blowing which seems to happen quite a lot on this site. NA is still fast and I'm happy enough with it as I don't really drive that fast but then again I've never been in a TT. Insurance wise get lots of quotes from specialist companies like Adrian Flux but UK TT is the cheapest for sure. I'd wouldn't mind buying a UK TT to replace my NA in the future but I would want a manual like my NA so finding one in good condition with less than a million miles for a good price isn't going to be easy. The cheapest car to buy and run baring insurance has to be the NA, much less to go wrong but its about weighing up what you want really. I've put about 4000 miles on my tires and they still have at least 80% wear left. Good luck making a decision.
  19. Thats really nice looking, are you replacing the Supra with it?
  20. Agreed. I'm surprised so many people dismiss Supras because they are a bit cheaper. The person that got that TT aerotop on eBay the other day for £8500 got a bargain in my eyes, and the person that got the TT 6 speed for £8K last Friday too. Even if it needed some tidying like scooter said having a look cant hurt. You just have to keep an eye open there are bargains out there.
  21. Well done on your purchase. Sounds like you got it for a good price too which is always a bonus. Enjoy:cool:
  22. 400 miles!!! Hope you enjoyed the trip. Nice to meet a few of you today. Would have been nice to have a bit of a convoy but maybe next time. I was surprised how interested the old people on the coach where in the cars! Supragal go and kick your bodyshops arse we want to see you in your Supra at a meet this year! Even if it means just putting it back together and just getting a few "minor" modifications. Did anyone take any pictures at the services? Hope everyone had a nice day.
