  1. That is a really sad sight to see:( How did it happen? I hope you get it sorted quickly and without an hassle.
  2. Luxury barge with a Supra TT engine very nice. I think they look fantastic too, surprised they aren't more popular or maybe they are over on the Lexus forum?
  3. Could be a real fun car, surprising people that have no idea of its potential. I wonder if there are any modified ones about?
  4. Manic is that 217 KM which is about 130 miles on a full tank? If so that sounds wrong to me. I've got a manual NA with an aftermarket exhaust which makes it use a bit more fuel and out of £25 I get between 150 and 200 miles depending on which roads and how I drive etc. Andy I agree that all the power seems to happen much higher up the revs. Low revs and the car feels heavy but about 5000 rpm (I think) in 2nd and there's a huge surge of power. I guess that's a bit what its like when a turbo comes online.
  5. Solar sensor is on the top of dash board in front of the speedo, just under the glass. Cant miss it if you look in from the outside.
  6. I've been using that oil without any problems.
  7. Good luck with the project. It seems one persons idea of a damaged repairable varies to another:eek:
  8. Paul £2791 are you mad! Rosie is there something your not telling us about your car, is it finished? If not why pay £1800 whilst its being worked on? Dont take this the wrong way but if I were you I'd wait till the big day to insure it.
  9. That what I was thinking.
  10. Insurance is weird, as is the way I'm going to express this: If car A is faster than car B. If you then modify car B to make it the same performance as car A. The insurance for car B will cost twice that of car A.
  11. As unconstructive as this comment is, the answer is simply because they are complete morons. No other business would get away with the shabby operations of insurance companies but we have to except it because firstly we all have to have it and secondly because we get locked into companies for a year in view of not losing any no claims bonus, and because if you cancel before the end of the year you lose most of your money. Adrian Flux handles things better than most because they have some staff that know about cars. But insurance companies and imports are bad enough but none of them like the idea of ANY modification to a car. It implies that you think your in the fast and the furious and go around racing every night.
  12. Hi and welcome to the site. Sorry I cant answer your question but I thought I'd say hi as I've been over to Vancouver a few times its a nice place. Didn't think there was many Supras there though.
  13. Cheap stuff and the word petrol can not be used together I've run my SZ-R on 95 and Optimax and in my opinion the Optimax is a waste of money on a NA. Its much more expensive, makes the car do lower MPG and I cant even notice any difference in performance, hence dont use it anymore.
  14. I got mine done for £47 via Dudes contact so I knew it would be done properly. £90 is ridiculous they probably just pay a mobile person that charges £55 whilst they take the rest for the Toyota receipt. Sorry I don't know anyone in your area though, tried the yellow pages? Its so nice to have the air con on in this weather.
  15. Have you done the diagnosis on it yet? More likely its low on gas I would have thought which stop it engaging to avoid damaging the compressor.
  16. It does seem to depend on who you talk to. I called them in January when I going through the worst bit of owning a Supra and they said they not insure under 30's on imports.
  17. Rosie hope you don't take this the wrong way but Liverpool Victoria sound like the best bet for you due to your extensive external modifications;) But if you 25 in 6 months that's about when the car should be finished isn't it? That sounds perfect to me or am I missing something?
  18. That look really nice! I'm sure it will stay that way as no one will sit on them:D
  19. Excellent dude well done, that cars a beast! I love that sound at about 43 seconds on that video is that the external wastegate?
  20. Coming on nicely, its actually taking shape at last! No offence but I'd still stay at least 6 months to go but I'm sure it will be very good when done, the spoiler looks perfect too.
  21. I think thats a good idea mate. When I went in Dudes it was absolutely mental. Plus this one was a bit expensive you will get a lovely TT for loads less than that.
  22. 91.9p Could that be the record for the UK?
  23. Petrol prices are getting even more stupid, if I carries on it will start to effect the value of big engine cars. Normal unleaded that I use is 80.7 to 82.9 around here which I think is bad enough. I heard if the government go ahead with there 1.5p (I think) increase in September or when ever it is. The price is predicated to be about 89.9p. I hate to think how much optimax will be then if there is already 9p a litre between them now. A tax reduction is needed but this country is such a rip off I cant see it happening. Instead there will be a tax increase whilst the oil is at record costs!
  24. Not you my post wasn't that clear. The performance from the JAP and the UK cars are very similar about 326BHP I believe, but the imports are more expensive to insurance because insurance companies fall off their chairs when you say the word import and then charge you for the privilege.
  25. Hi by the way. You will be able to find a Jap manual TT much easier for less money and probably better condition and lower mileage than a UK. But dont we dont want to start another debate about the UK and JAP cars!
