    F1 2022!!!!!

Could you imagine the chaos if Alpine won the Pisastri contract arguement
  2. Impressive numbers for the Whifbitz kit! Did you get a dyno graph at all? My only advice at that power level would be to watch EGT's if you can. I cranked mine up and then dialled it back a bit as the EGT's were through the roof on that manifold. It's pretty much an identical setup to what you have and I've installed an EGT sensor on both the downpipe and the 6th bank of the manifold. It gets hot!
  3. Agreed I’ve seen a lot of people shouting the bottom is in and, to be fair, a good few indicators have flashed but I don’t think the lows we saw resembled a market cycle bottom. No large capitulation being the main thing it was missing for me. ETH has been pretty surprising as of late to be honest too. With the merge pencilled in for the middle of September now, it’s been on one hell of a rally. It’s reached some major resistance points now at the 20wk MA with the 200 day also not far away at ~2300. So let’s see if it can continue. I would like to think BTC’s continued rally will help it through but September might mark a “bit the rumour, sell the news” kind of event for ETH

    Tax question

Seems like a bit of an odd statement to be honest. I reckon I could send 10 times that to a complete stranger in a single payment and no one would bat an eye. Or do you self employed lot get scrutineered to the n'th degree? I'm probably completely niave to this sort of thing

I'd heard they'd halted contract negotioations with one another but that was more to do with the fact that the Aston seat has been filled by Alonso. Schumacher hasn't realistically got anywhere to go now so Haas seem happy to squeeze his renewal out a little longer and knock his price down.
  6. That bike tyre trick is genius wish I'd thought of that when I did mine

I think he's got one more contract in him. Hard to place him though as the seats are filling fast

So where's Piastri going to end up? My guess is McLaren once they come to a mutual agreement with Danny Ric to let him go. Could make an interesting dynamic at McLaren, I wonder if Norris will be on the phone to Mercedes to ask how long Lewis plans on staying for. I doubt Pisatri will want to be a number 2 driver for long. Then where does Ric go? It's a reach but maybe Alpine go all French and pinch Gasly from Alpha and Ric goes to them. I just don't see Ric going back to Alpine so soon after the Renault days.
  9. What exactly have you bought? I don't think you really perform a boost leak test on the engine, but on the intake system. So from the air filter all the way to the throttle body. I'd imagine it'll be difficult to leak test a stock TT system with how many vacuum lines etc there are. I'm NA-T so not too familiar with the TT setup but you'll probably need to take off the hose at the intake manifold / trottle body and plug it, then do the same at the air filter(s) so that you have a (sort of) closed system. Any vacuum lines you can see, you'll need to plug those as well and then pressurise the system. Listen/look for leaks and if you can't find anything, try spray some soapy water around suspicious areas to see if it bubbles. That should cover the majority of your intake system, any remaining bits that weren't pressurised you will have to do individually.

Might need to start putting money where my almost sarcastic mouth is I gave the Ferrari strategists too much leeway though in thinking the drivers would screw things up for them. Why on Earth would you go Med, Med, Hard when Pirelli never even suggested it as a likely strategy... Semi exciting race at least. Would've loved a down pour at the end but I guess Max deserved it after starting tenth, pulling a perfect mid race 360, gubbed his tyres and still won by a margin. Fair play

Verstappen win, Merc's competing for a podium (except first) and a complete roll of the dice for Ferrari. They haven't wiped one another out yet so that could be the next option for them.
  12. His old man passed away and they ran the business together
  13. For the majority of owners on here, a modern standalone ECU will do the job regardless of brand. It's all down to what the mapper prefers really. Until you're building some sort of all out / balls to the wall machine a ~£1000 standalone ECU will do just fine. The best process, imo, is to find a competent mapper that you're happy to go to and go with the ECU they're happiest working with. Car will run fine on any of them, provided it's healthy elsewhere and mapped competently. Link ECUMaster Haltech AEM Syvecs - Top end of budget Motec - Top end of budget
  14. Have you swapped out any of the distributor components at all? Might be the the distributor cap and rotor arm could do with being refreshed. If it's overfuelling, then it sounds like a spark issue and if it's missing on 4 cylinders it could be distributor based.
  15. Yes, @keron is usually quite active on here and is probably your best chance at used parts inside the UK

    Power banks

I've got a few bits and pieces that are Anker and quite like them too. Have never let me down and had them for years I got a Charmast power bank as I wanted something that could charge multiple things at once, several times while on camping trips etc. It's been great so far, had it about a year https://www.charmast.com/products/charmast-usb-c-power-bank-26800mah-portable-charger-usb-c-slimline-type-c-battery-pack-with-3-inputs-5v-1-5a-2a-2-6a-4-outputs-5v-2-4a-3a-compatible-with-macbook-galaxy-s8-pixel-iphone-ipad

Yeah, Perez wouldn't have been anywhere near without the safety car and then the Ferrari's were sitting ducks on older tyres. Could've easily been avoided too, God knows why Ocon didn't park up at the old pit entry. We would've missed some epic racing though I suppose

Totally forgot Perez was in a fully working car with brand new softs on when the Safety Car was out. Thought for sure Hamilton was going to pass the Ferrari's and win after the restart. Happy for Carlos and good to at least see the Merc competing. Lost the race in the pit lane unfortunately.

    High oil pressure

Absolutely, if the pressure is too high it will look to escape somehow. Are you running higher than ideal oil pressure?
  21. Giving the 4hr 50 a test now so let's see. I've been liking the higher highs and lows that have been built on the smaller timeframes, even though anything down to that degree is just noise/mumbo jumbo to me

How did Sainz not win that? Fresh tyres, right behind Max and couldn't even get a sniff in. I guess his time will come but that was a great opportunity.
  23. Certainly sounds like a boost leak. Even though you've refreshed all the hoses etc. there may still be a leak somewhere. Maybe a hose has been rubbing against something for a few months and a hole has appeared. So a check of the new hoses would probably be a good place to start as it's a fairly easy task to rule out. See if you can listen out for air escaping as well.

Concluded that his entire wheel didn't cross the line apprarently. I've not seen the footage yet, was expecting it to be a boring race so haven't paid too much attention. Sounds like it was manic lol
  25. Page 35 if you'd like to catch yourself up. Your argument has been around the enviro impact of an assest class without comparing it to anything else or considering the source of the energy as was mentioned before. If BTC was to be killed off because of it's impact on the environment then it would at least be a hot topic. But because it's no better than other asset classes or traditional banking systems... They can create their own assets, as you've mentioned, to utilise blockchain technology (which is looking like where things are going and will be welcomed as adoption increases) but they cannot control a decentralised asset. It's literally the point of BTC. People can buy and sell it if they want, nothing a VPN won't sort out if it gets 'banned'. As time goes on, BTC trends up. Cycles will generally lengthen and/or returns diminish until you find yourself in a traditional market structure that people will be happy to store as "digital gold" and watch appreciate. Other cryptocurrencies will likely surpass BTC one day, a several trillion dollar asset class won't just disappear forever. You could even argue that power consumption will cool off as this happens due to longer terms of holding.
