  1. You can have my ticket, free of charge. It may as well go to someone who can use it, as I'm not going to be able to make this unfortunately.
  2. The UK spec and JSpec are different sizes. (I presume, as the first decat pipe is UK/Jap specific) You have probably just ordered the opposite of what you need.

    TTC How to do

This. If you have not heard of BPU, then click the blue text, then do a search.
  4. Right, I started her up today (with my eyes closed, and gritting my teeth ) The only way I can describe the sound is like two metal plates rattling/banging against each other. So, I'm kind of leaning towards it being clutch/flywheel related, rather than gearbox. She should be heading to Whifbitz South Wales in the next couple of days for diagnosis, but I'm pretty happy it will be a quick fix.

    Turbo troubles?

In that case, I stand corrected. I never experienced it in higher gears, probably due to the RR in place. I only ever had fuel cut in first gear.
  6. All depends on the extent of the problem with the Supra mate. I'll let you know when I do.

    Turbo troubles?

Fuel cut won't stop it boosting higher in higher gears though. I only ever used to hit fuel cut in first gear.

    Turbo troubles?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! If you are removing both cats, it WILL NOT be ok without a restrictor ring. Your turbos will boost way too high and pop.
  9. Not sure if we will make this now Rog. All depends on what we find when my gear box comes off next week. If it's just clutch/flywheel, we'll be fine. If it's gearbox
  10. I'd aim off about £2k for the engine, then at least another £1k labour for the transplant. i'm just going by how much it cst me to get a new engine put in a celica a few years back. However, that was a straight in and out job. Really, labour cost is garage dependent.
  11. I'd be looking at the crank pulley as Dnk says. There is a resaon the stock pulley i dampened.
  12. Whoa nelly. Check eBay. You can get them for £6 a plug

    advice please!

Did you agree to them doing the work? Supplying parts? That seems massively excessive to me.
  14. It was a typo....he meant "ass hammered"
  15. Hello. Anything can be made to fit, if you have the money to make it fit Also, please try to type full words, rather than things like "wld" and "iv". We appreciate it
  16. I don't remember there being any noise when I was being towed (engine off in neutral) but being towed in gear there was, unless the clutch was depressed.
  17. To be honest, with the amount spent on it since I got it, I would have been better off
  18. Not when it went, but I was not long before it went. (A couple of miles)
  19. I just remembered something else too. When stationary and out of gear, revving the engine made no difference to the sound. Am I right in thinking this pretty much rules out the engine?
  20. I can't, the Supra is a non runner right now. Either the gearbox (hence the thread) has pooped itself, or something in that area.
  21. Not a clue on the diff. It's NA-TT so could be anything. I'm not sure if the diff was changed before I bought it. Any way of telling visually without taking it apart?
  22. Simple one hopefully. What parts (other than the box) do I need to go from W58 to a 6 speed Getrag? I'm thinking I may need different props? Or are they the same?
  23. It all depends on what Mr Whiffin can do for me really. I won't know what direction I'm going until tomorrow. What I do find odd though, is that all gears went at the same time Makes me wonder if it is something else related to the box, but not the box itself.....
  24. You can buy a pair for £250 ish. Replace them yourself Probably what I'll be doing, then rebuild the old ones, ready for when the replacements go
  25. Lately, she has been getting a good blast seeing as it's been nice and dry and sunny. I have been driving her quite hard at times. To be fair, it was only a matter of time until it gave up.
