  1. No you can't! Lol No objections from me, can't see why not. See you tomorrow I guess.
  2. Will agree that for the average Joe an auto is better off the line, after the torque converter has locked up. If you stall the torque converter by holding power and brakes it aint going too last long though. Its horses for courses. A skilled driver will generally be quicker in a manual car due to the additional control. Thinking motorsports, its manuals all the way. Even the the systems used in F1 cars are not traditional autos, the are effectively robotised manual gearboxes. Most are now using DSG style gearboxes. Not a torque converter in sight. Well thats my 2p worth. Not into a waggling competition as its too small!!!!!!! Lol
  3. Saw this yesterday when I popped in. Not at all jealous!!!!! Paul, just dont mention cheque books....................
  4. Hello skippyboyo1, looking for the same thing myself at the moment. I got a price of around £750 from Custom Cages (Daventry Northants) for one of their clubman 4 point with diagonal bar and harness bar and powder coating. They dont need to measure the car as they already supply a full weld in cage for the Sup so have the dimensions from that. They supply this as a bolt in and I believe there are weld in plates that the cage bolts to. I'm sure you could have as a fully weld in if wanted but they wouldn't be able to powder coat it of course! Paul at Whiffbitz is looking into this to see if he can save me a couple of quid (hopefully) and if you are interested contact him as he should be able to get better discount for a few.

  8. Hey Mike, picked up some bits for you yesterday. Guys, I need to ask a favour. Yesterday found out my lad is going to a party on Saturday afternoonfrom one of his old mates he hasnt seen for a while and I need to be away by 12 to get him there on time. Its a bit of a bummer not being able to stay until the end to say the least. Does anyone object to me jumping up the order so i can get my car done before I have leave?[OOPS][/OOPS]
  9. As above between J18 & J19 at just after 10 this morning.
  10. Hopefully you can see the pictures now? Probably go with a Custom Cages Clubman Spec 4 point with diagonal and harness bar. They will make this as a bolt in and also powder coat it too. Just waiting for a bit of commission to come through and it will be ordered!!!!!!
  11. Thought I would share my first few mods and don't really think it warrants going in the Projects Cars section quite yet!!! First job was to remove the black plastic "gills" either side of the number plate. Much cleaner look in my opinion. Next up was a rummage through SteveL's garage which turned up a Toyota Logo that looks nice on the front. Finally for now is the installation of the Whifbitz Airbag delete boss and a lovely suede trimmed OMP wheel. Allegedly used once on a show car but almost like new with only 2 small marks. Ebay special if you are interested! Next up will be fitting the new door mirror on the drivers side, new right hand dash panel, sorting out the front towing hook and getting the cage ordered! Couple of pics below. (If I have managed to work out how to add them! lol)
  12. Does it work? Refund if faulty?
  13. Hi Mike, just wanted to check that there will be no problems in bringing my 11 year old son along. Understand he will have to stay well away from cars when they are on the dyno.
  14. Have a look at mine at tdi. I have kyb and tein.
  15. Yeah sounds good. Might be easier at the services just down the road, Charnock Richard is it? What time?
  16. That means I'm looking for a cool 1k. Anything else just wouldn't be fair! Neil are you Blackburn area? If so fancy meeting at the M65 services and heading over together? Anyone else anywhere near? We could dig out our old CB radios and get ourselves a convoy lol.
  17. Not sure the ridox would work. Is your car lowered or STD? I have a ridox with Tein springs. Virtually no angle on my drive but have to shuffle backwards so I can reverse straight off at an angle with no steering lock applied. First time I reversed off I cracked it!!!!! It's ok driving onto it though and with STD suspension should be much, much better. Paul at Whifbitz also has a splitter for these that will protect the bumper, though it will make it a bit lower of course. Hope that helps? I can take some measurements if you want? Was thinking depth below the headlights at most forward part and the distance this is from the centre of the front hub. Let me know if you want me to do this and will sort it on Saturday for you.
