I started to respond and list why Steve's car was superior, but then I thought why bother. Maybe the keyboard warriors will take a look at the spec of Steve's car and explain how, other than having a FIA fuel cell, that car is a superior race car? Steve's car had a pedigree through Time Attack and also Eurosaloons and was highly developed. I wasnt just talking about power. Suspension, brakes and Aero all figure here along with race dashboards and plumbed in fire extinguishers that might get some excited. Maybe this car is exciting because it is not known on here, but please, do not make out is unique or in any way better than the Whifbitz cars. It is different and built to meet a different set of regulations and wouldnt see which way the Whifbitz cars went on track.

Unless he meant the rear only? Thought they would have tied this into the upper seat belt mount too.

Much lower spec than SteveL or Paul Whiffs cars. No information about its success (or lack of) either.

I seem to recall that round ones work best. Other than that it's all down to personal opinion. Get what you like and ignore everyone else.

I have the same issue and have had for over a year. It's not getting any worse and it will be a head off job at Whifbitz. At least £1k. Chris Wilson will do it using the rope trick for considerably less and will be doing mine when they need doing. SteveL ran his race car for a complete season in time attack a few years ago with this problem with no consequences. I know how you feel, it's not nice seeing the smoke on start up and it looks worse when you have side exit exhausts, believe me! At least you know the pistons are well lubricated on start up!

It will only need sorting if it has been fiddled with. If I get a chance tomorrow I will let you know what settings mine is on as it is the same BC. Might be a good reference point to start from as mine was set up by Paul or Darren.

It may be nothing to do with the restrictor ring. The boost controller will be controlling the amount of boost. You can still get 1.2 bar with a 1 bar restrictor ring. With boost controller off it would / should limit you to 1 bar. Has anyone been playing with the BC settings? Sounds like you have low and high set the same. Likewise you can play with the amount of boost you get. What make of BC is it?

What boost controller are you running. The gain on mine is set at 20% for all to run well.

Also the act of rolling the lip pulls the arch out by a couple mm as well. That's what the guy who did mine said.

Something for the anoraks. The exhaust pipes on the GT86 are each 86mm in diameter. Have seen a few on the road now. Black and red seem to look best.

What size wheels and tyres are you planning to put on the front? I am running 255/35 18s on a 9.5J rim at ET35 (I think) and have no issues. You may be making work for yourself that you don't need to do.
