  1. I've got the option to get a set of new D2 coilovers at the right money as their main distributor is literally round the corner from me. I realise you get what you pay for etc, but I just want to know if anyone has used them and what are they like?
  2. Daft question, you are doing it from cold on level ground? Mine is always pretty spot on.
  3. There you go! Was only a year out, getting confused with the Mr's Clio, that's every 5 years or 60k strangely!
  4. Me too, I'm much the same with my RS Turbo, had it 3 years now and it's still not finished. I wouldn't sell it or break it though, as once it's finished, to me it'll be priceless. Although will have cost me a load less than a Singled Supra to build!
  5. I agree with Johnny, just think of the satisfaction of standing back and looking at it and thinking; "I did that". At least you know that once it's done, it will be right. (Hopefully)
  6. I'd be up for it, Ste and Ian were talking about it last week. Not sure what's happening as Ste is going to NY in December isn't he?
  7. I would do personally, it's normally advisable to do it every 5 years I think regardless of mileage.
  8. If you think it's good now, wait till it's BPU!
  9. http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?51682-How-To-Overhaul-starter-motor-contacts There you go.
  10. Contacts in the starter itself. There's a guide in the technical section on how to change them.
  11. The one that I bought didn't have gaskets, they are separate. The part number is 90916-03093 for a stat. I've just dropped a spare one that I had in boiling water and it opens approx 10mm. if it works, when you put it back in, there is a "jiggle pin" that is in the ring bit of the stat, that should sit at the top when you reseat the stat.
  12. You may do, I'm not over sure, depends on the state of the old one I suppose. A stat isn't a lot of money from Toyota
  13. The stat will only open at 82 degrees mate. If the stat isn't opening, that's why the bottom hose is cold. Check the dash temp gauge, stat should open with the gauge at half way. Failing that take the stat out and drop it in a pan of boiling water and it should pop open (i think). Once the stat opens, the water level in the stat will start to drop
  14. Do what I said mate, run it with the cap off and keep topping the rad up, once the stat opens, the heaters should start getting hot.
  15. Run it with the cap off mate to get rid of air locks, every now and again, raise the revs to about 2000RPM, keep watching for bubbles in the top of the rad. Once that stat opens, provided it isn't stuck shut, the level in the rad will drop. Keep topping it up till the rad is full, leave it running till the temp gauge sits in the middle, the heaters are hot and the bubbles stop. The leave it overnight to cool, repeat the process in the morning with the rad cap off and run it up with the cap off till warm make sure there are no bubbles in the rad filler neck.
  16. Your rad cap may also be knackered? Have you put a new rad on or anything? The cap might not be sealing. What was the temp gauge in the car reading?
  17. It might be rusted shut. Are your heaters hot? - - - Updated - - - Don't think so mate
  18. I'd check the stat mate, might be rusted shut
  19. What boost is it running at the minute to make 460? (Just out of interest.)
