  1. Welcome to the club Pete, there will hopefully be a NW meet next month maybe? Should get down to it!
  2. PM me whatever you want to know dude. Have a look at the link in my signature for more info and specs.
  3. You shouldn't be able to hear the turbo. They're prone to popping inter cooler pipes off which could cause the problem. I'd get it fault code read. See what stored faults you've got. There may be some. Worth getting the MAF checked too.
  4. My standard recirc dump valve used to make a noise similar to what you describe. Not all the time though.

I know mate, sorry, couldn't resist! There's a good long stretch of bypass near where the car is. I know how savage kickdown can be, especially in the cold / wet. It needs to be treated with the utmost respect! - - - Updated - - - Cheers Simon, I'll speak to you tomorrow.

I have to go up there tomorrow afternoon to pick up some paperwork for my private plates, I'll ask him and see what I can do. It's no problem at all.

I'm only in Leyland, my Supra is for sale at JRR Cars in Much Hoole. If you want a drive to see what they're like, I may be able to arrange it? just to see what a BPU TT Auto is like...

If you try HIC, they will probably ask if you have experience of powerful RWD cars. It helps if you have had a few. Where in Lancs are you?

Try HIC for insurance, I paid £555 fully comp on my Jap Spec TT with all mods declared, that's using it as a daily driver as well on a 5000 mile per year policy. That's at 33 years old with 12 or 13 years no claims.

You could buy my TT and save yourself a shed load of money on mods, plus you're only in Lancashire too!
  13. Welcome mate, always liked the look of the GTO!
  14. I had EBC Redstuff on mine. Again, mixed reviews on them, but once they were warmed up they were spot on.
  15. I'll double check, but headgasket, intake gaskets and turbo gaskets are definitely there. The cam end seals, valve stem seals and cam cover seals have been used. PM your email, I'll get some pics and send through what's still there.
  16. It will, but it alters the compression ratio I think. Part number for the full set is: 04112-46056 from Toyota. This is for a TT set, but you get all the gaskets for cam covers, stem seals etc. I've actually got part of a new set including the headgasket if you're interested? I bought the full kit when I did my stem seals and cam cover gaskets, but it worked out cheaper to buy the full set as opposed to separates.
  17. Just spotted, that's my M5 at the side of the Supra in the first picture! By all accounts, the Supra is a clean one and drives well.
  18. I've just bought my M5 off the trader selling this Supra in question. He's a sound bloke, but I know what he paid for the Supra. There is definitely room for negotiation in his price.
  19. It was similar with the Escort RS Turbo though and the likes of the MKII Astra GTE, they slumped in price and now they're on the up, as the chav's have moved on to newer things. I reckon the same may happen with the Supra.
  20. Mine was exactly like that before I had my stem seals done. Doesn't smoke at all now!
