  1. so the stroker kit has pistons that have a crown thats closer to the wrist pin! by the looks of the crank it has larger counter balance sections to offset the longer throw also! it was Farndon yes i'm just waiting on an email about if they can do it and how much it would cost. Mr JamieP i'm going to be using mine on the road and i'm very keen on reliability and i'm hoping that if i go stroker with 800-850hp that it will do 5000miles between refreshes. This of course being road based will not be 5000miles at redline but lets face it i'm not building this for getting a loaf of bread from tesco's quicker!.. know what i mean!
  2. Mr jagman i hope you don't think that i was being disrespectful or slating your oppinion! i was just pointing out that when i discovered that i may have stock rods (i was under the impresion that they where HKS as the pistons are) that i would like to stroke my engine to reduce the lack of knowledge of my engine and tune by replacing everything with new,At this time you pointed out the toyota r+d then and the lack of it from some after market tuners and i agree totaly! I've always wanted a stroked supra due to the increase in torque and power handling abilities my goal is to build a high power engine but reliability is a must and really the top of my prioritys 800-850hp is the dream but may not be the reality! The turbo i'm after can produce up to 850hp but the mapper/builder will decide the outcome! Mr Dude the crank is not yet decided on if there will be any special features all i know is that Mr Wilson said that i should get a billet crank to run the power i'm after and i go by what the more knowlagable people tell me (jagman,Chris wilson and you etc) The company he told me of apparently used to do cranks for HKS so are supposed to be good at building strong lasting cranks! One question though the crank has not been fully arranged yet so to stroke the engine is it just the crank throw thats increased or is there other things? over bore/sleeving,shorter rods etc
  3. I'm was thinking of having the billet crank custom made due to not being able to find one for sale! also i was told by Mr jagman that stroking the engine would result in guaranteed failure!! That every stroker kit on the market is made with only short sharp drags for the purpose and not good for long duration applications! ( i would like to do track work) and the only person whom had a stroker track car (Mr Whiffin) was having " nothing but problems!" I've just checked it was "H" beam rods i got sorry I'm an ass!
  4. i'm building a 800hp engine on the side! ( the engine i have is 612hp so just building one on the side for the jump) I purchased carrillo "I" beam rods for my build. they should be fine right?? also Mr Chris Wilson said that for that power level i should be trying to source a billet crank! i have billet main caps only bearings and pistons left on the bottom to get! Also thought that cosworth where only just developing there pistons (in a drift car i think) so are they try'd and tested at these power levels??
  5. is there a difference between "H" beam and "I" beam or is it two ways to describe the same type??
  6. Mr Wilson i have heard from many sources that an uprated one is the best way to go on high power cars. I'm intending on pushing mine to 800hp give or take a few ponies. the uprated one's are stated to be safe to some 1200hp and 10,000 rpm ( i know they'll tell you anything to sell you one) Do you have an example of why you think the standard one is better?? i know that toyota done vast R+D to get the standard one but 800hp is no longer standard so what specificaly is the issue with after market ones?? Please do not take this as an attack just wondering why you came to your conclusion? experiance, preferance, knowladge of harmonics them selves?
  7. are these the best, the cheapest or just the alternatives. do these last longer than standard? excuse my stupidity but it not something i know about and don't want to have to learn from another mistake! once bitten twice shy and that you know what i mean!
  8. Well got home from some over time today thinkin some extra money will be good for the 800hp project i'm collecting for and noticed that i had a message i missed! Fair enough i check it and its my mate saying "phone me regarding your car" Still not worried as he was pricing some tyres for me and should be giving me the quote. I call him and notice he does'nt sound happy infact a little worried i'd say, now i'm thinkin this is gonna be bad! he starts by the way i'd feared!.. "you know your car well i was driving to get some petrol and erm!" at this point my arse collapsed waiting for the "i was coming round a corner and the next thing!" so he carry's on "i was driving along a sixty road and there was u huge bang then the sound of what i thought was things decintegrating to put it lightly!" anyway at this point i'm thinkin the whole engines let go ( i have aem ems and heard the horror stories) i expected him to tell me about con rods peaking out the side of the block and chunks of piston skipping down the road past him. after he calmed down a bit and stopped appologiesing i find out it's not as bad as i thought but it was something i became more aware about only days ago!! The crank damper bottom puley had exploded... Damn!! a few days ago i read that a screech when pulling away was a sign to check it and i had that. i am in the south east of Germany working and thought the car is only being started to keep the battery charged for the alarm it it will be fine till i get home in a month or so it was'nt bad. however the car needed petrol and the first time it's moved in three months boom!! Aint that some sh*t!!! So does any body know where i can get a ATI damper or one like it to replace the standard one that gave up for a good price??? And let this be a lesson to others a simple check goes a long way. i don't know how much damage has been caused but it will hold up my build for the sake of a tipex line... bollox!!!
  9. now that you mention squeel during parking and such i've got that!!! i was thinkin that sucks... nice car and then scrreeechhh!!! destroys the car in my eyes. i just checked the belt tensions and thought no more of it!think i'll check again! Now where's that tipex??
  10. Holly cr@p man i new there was some quick supras out there but i did'nt think even full on top fuel supras could run that much wheel power!! what the hell parts he running to get that or more importantly what they made of?? some sort of unobtainium i guess.
  11. I've seen loads of people with these but if i remember correctly these are illegal are they not! It was said that they create to much distraction for drivers when it's flashing away. it was a cop who told me some time ago that the rules changed but he/i could be wrong.
  12. I know your probably going to hate me for messing about but was wondering if you still had the con rods?? been thinkin they would be good for a project i'm considering! still want the new caps of course just was thinkin if you had these i'll take the rods and caps and get them sent together! one money transfer and one big box of goodie's to send let me know if not i'll sort that money for the main caps asap! cheers Mr Ryan.G
  13. are those the "billet" main caps from titan?? was thinkin about getting these to raise the rev limit of my car! the new ones still there mate??
  14. is there intructions on where to place these grounds on the car or is it just a universal ground kit for whatever you like?
  15. All's i can say is "you big soppy git!!!" but good luck to you hope your happy now and for a long time.

  20. Nice looking supra broxyboy! need to keep it really clean though white supras are mint when there clean! The wheels look nice but i would look around for something else, they are nice but not my cup of tea!..no offence. I'm sure i'll see you flyin around eventualy i'm fae Dunfermline. Black 93 supra TT (singled) good luck with the car you'll love it.
  21. i know the oil talk is done and dusted all the heat/pressure waffle but just wonderd why nobody seemed to mention dry sump conversion! i heard and i don't actualy believe it but there isn't supposed to be a single dry sump supra in the U.K due to cost and technical issues! is this correct?? would allow good temp control larger volumes and of course would be cool as f#ck!! I'm new to this supra building as i'm only starting mine in the new year but it's something i thought of if i was going time attack or the likes! long duration high rev applications.
