What diff you got out of interest says after market if it's TRD big dif then i'm interested?
-
Ok Mr Dude may i please have your terms and conditions for the sale ie do you want a deposit or full sum,if so how much, when etc if a deal is done i'll send you my address and post can be arranged if thats ok. if not just let me know.
-
Ah!..is this a problem with carbon props as it would be going on a road car?
-
What condition is the prop in Mr Dude? I will be needing one of these or similar but i have to say i've just spent almost 6 grand on the turbo kit so it will be a couple of weeks before i could pay you but if it's mint then a bargains a bargain perhaps if it's what i want then we could come to a deal?. deposit or something.

I looked at the instructions for a BOV once and it said you had to mount these as close to the throttle as possible as the throttle closing is what you need them for so pressure just leaves there instead of bouncing back and stalling the turbo or blowing pipes off? Also how can they rate BOV's in HP if the power is not dictaded by the boost pressure ie a small turbo at 1.6bar might be 500hp my turbo now is 612 at the same pressure but someone like Mr JamieP's would be over 900hp?

When i was at GIMotorsport not long ago they where just finishing there second Rav4 Celica GT4 engine transplant for the same guy now that would be worth a laugh if you just want to chuck money at it because your bored!

I run an AEM stand alone system and have asked Dastec/Bosch service centre if they can do AEM stuff and they said not a problem to do any of there products. I'm sure they said it's based on GEMs stuff with more "fancy un-needed American bells and wistles" Don't know if this helps you but might be worth contacting them.

Clutch Issue, Twisted main shaft or something else?
Crouch replied to JamieP's topic in mkiv Technical
Had this problem on the HKS tripple clutch i pulled out not long ago(don't know what you have) really annoying you'd be in traffic go to pull away lift your foot and nothing pedal on the floor then all of a sudden "twang" stall and you look like a numpty! Happened maybe 8 times or more but despite the clutch being supposidly new it slipped on high boost so ripped it out and installed a twin plate carbonetic and now half the travel and no issue's at all! I'm going to get the carbonetic tripple for the new engine to and leave the twin on my spare 612hp engine. -
now that think about it is the hot side of your turbo not coated?
-
I think the coatings help by reducing hot spots ie the piston crown or valve head lip. This is my point though is it marketing waffle or does it actualy help. Some coaters say they can basicaly coat everything in one way or another check the claims made by swaintech.com they are one such company. I'll be running the same manifold and zircotech coating you have Mr JamieP, I've heard the theorys behind the tech because of the hole tubular manifolds V log type heat arguement just wonderd if anybody had try'd it.

Hello people i'm afraid it's time for another random question that you'll all hate me for asking but i feel some research is in order and whom better than people who have done it before me so just abuse me lightly! So i'm currently aquiring parts to build a 3.4ltr engine and my next purchase is the turbo kit as it's the next expensive bit and i want the pricey bits delt with first. I'm going to get a turbo kit from Mr Whiffin and as part of the deal i'm having the zircotech coating done. This got me thinking everybody knows about shot peening and cryo treatment but actual coatings still seems uncommon, I've checked some of the high profile members with scary fast cars (Mr JamieP,Mr Ricky49,Mr Dude and others) however i can't see any one who's try'd coatings. Is there just no details in the spec lists or do they not have any "special coatings" etc? can anyone give me first hand experience of technics they have try'd? what company did you use?(ie swaintech.com etc) So that you know i was thinking about crown coatings to help prevent det and reduce the hot spots and the same with the valve heads also i'm wanting a friction reducing coating due to the increased load on the thrust side of the piston as this load increases with the long throw crank increasing the rod angle. As always excuse my poor spelling and grammer i know it's awful and any and all help/advice welcome Many thanks Gary Crouch

Nice Supra but you thought you'd wash it and celebrate by parking in a field!

Dreaming about being home from Germany next weekend to play with my toys! (Supra,CBR 1000rr and motocross bikes) and might just order my new turbo kit for the 3.4 motor on Friday, Thats what i'm really excited about shame it'll take 5 weeks from whifbitz i'd love to see it when i'm home! still i'll get my chance and play with it another time.

Toyota Supra RZ-612hp Vauxhall Vectra-125hp (manufacturer figure most horses are lame or dead now!) Honda CBR 1000rr-170hp Kawasaki kxf450-50hp...ish! Yamaha yz250 50hp...ish! I got four figures!..whoopie!! was going to build my new 3.4ltr engine to four figures but seems i've got four already think i'll give the project up now! Now where did i put that gaffa tape?.. strap these bad boys together!
-
Easy answer supercharge it! throttle response will be as before but little more power and a good linear torque curve!

I had an MOT inspector check my car because it's near MOT time and wanted to know if it was just emmisions that it would fail on ( there about 8x the legal limit as my 93 RZ is supposed to have a cat) i asked about all the debate on HID kits as there is so much conflicting info going around. His info was that they made a mistake on some brake requirements for this year so he had to pass some awfull brakes (corrosion requirements)and that it will be sorted next revision of the test along with the affore mentioned HID converted cars. I really want some but he stated that it was already in the pipes to be made ilegal on cars with no self leveling lights. As i said it's just an MOT inspectors word but he only done his refresher course 2 months ago so i believed that his info was up to date. My appologies for my spelling i try but am dislexic so please excuse the spelling of a ten year old. Gary Crouch
-
Just a warning they are supposed to be going ileagal next year so make sure there cheap because you may loose them next MOT! as of next year i believe they said that if the car does not have self leveling lights then it can't have them fitted. I've try'd to look into them and was told not to bother but it's just what i've been told by an MOT inspector it could be wrong.

JamieP's Black Beast (update 1132bhp & 840ftlb at hubs)
Crouch replied to JamieP's topic in Supra Chat
You know Mr Jurgen i've always like you!..15% you say hmmmm! lol Sorry Mr P thought that you were considering the shafts as a potential cause of your issues! As i said i'm going to be making seriouse enquireys about these shafts myself as they can take the power i want and come as a kit with everything you need i believe including the modified hubs for the bigger splines. -

Have you thought of http://www.driveshaftshop.com they do good props and drive shaft it's what i was thinkin of tryin on my build rated to 1200hp so should take what most cars put down on this forum with the exemption to just a few. just an idea but may be worth a look if Mr Wilson is accurate. -
Mr Whiffin i was not questioning your say so on your manifold i was just trying to find the best solution for my application. Due to not going to be able to rev the car hard i wanted the best spool time possible for the turbo that you suggested and i keep hearing about these quick spool valves and how there great! I however am not fust for "it's great" i'm interested in here are the results of the back to back shoot out if there is one. If you say the car does'nt need it then i am not and will not question your knowledge and proven track record. I hope you did not take it the wrong way and if so then appologies for this. I hope the batmowheels are as good as they're said to be as i'm rather looking forward to running one now!
-
I will Mr P just collecting the parts and then once i have everything i think i'll need then i'll seek profesional help with the rest! My bedrooms turning into a warehouse of expensive parts in boxes but trying to reduce the cars down time and make it easy for the final assembly. also means i don't have the car sitting at a tuners paying storage fee's while parts get orderd it's expense i can do without.
-
Really i've got Mr Lee P pricing 280's for my new head! i have HKS 272's in the current setup at 612hp. Sayng that though it's not just the duration it's the lift and timing that make a big difference right?
-
Well after some debate on here it seem its time to see what these latest and greatest batmowheels are all about! I've sent a mesage to Mr Whiffin to find out the damage for for a kit with the batmowheel with batcave cover. I've asked him to recomend the turbo size but it's going to be iether the S374 Mr JamieP suggested or the bigger S383 turbo. There has to be someone running one of these already so hopefully Mr Whiffin will know exactly which route to take and we'll see just what these turbo's can do! Just need the quote for a head from SRD i asked for then can start thinkin about beefing up the drive line and see what numbers she spit out. Fingers crossed for four digits when the time comes!

It is a copy i believe of the fullrace so is an excellent piece of kit from the testamony's of those whom have it or seen it. Also Mr Ricky49 i hope that i am being polite as i come on here to ask for help and info so there is no reason to not be polite and respectful of those whom have owned and tuned these cars for many years, mutual respect is a minimum until someone proves they deserve more or less thats my thinking anyway! i always read my posts twice as my spelling/grammer is awfull and be sure that it makes sence! Besides those that come on here shouting of about there knowledge and txt speak etc tend to get mullerd by the members! Yes Mr JamieP i just want to get it right the build will take as long as it takes and costs what it costs research is the key to something like this and bragging is not of any use proven figures are where it counts speed, acceleration and wieghts are what matters.
