Mr JamieP I thought it should be about that but on low i get 0.4/5 bar and high about 0.8 bar i thought that the car maybe made the 611.9 hp on the dyno sheet with the race fuel and nitrouse as i have switch's for both but no nitrouse it was removed before i got it!

Mr JamieP The car feels quick but not fast but the time goes on the more i think it's an illusion due to the crazy noise the turbo/screamer pipe makes. Of course you do get used to the power but i get killed by everything i've ever lined up against and with 600hp+ that surely isn't just my driving technic Mr Canislupus Thanks for the info however the time has come to head home (driving the 800+ miles back this Thursday) it's MOT time end of July. I think i'll have to spend another fortune on this car by taking it to Dastec/ HQ Performance in Dalgety Bay and hope they know about supra's. The annoyiny thing is i just need this to be up to the standard it should be to command the money i want for it. The sooner it go's the sooner i can start the new supra build and get the engine parts under my bed together it's a shame to have 10k in engine parts just doing nothing taunting me! I'm sure Mr Dude will be happy to see the back of the car to when i find a company to trailer it away. Mr thedirtycat YES!!! tbh it's the newer MR2 that bothers me the most i think they're 2-0 na's and we where side by side from 0-120mph+. Now I don't claim to be the stig but that should not happen even if i missed a gear i should have reeled him in but the guy just laughed said some German to his wife in the passenger seat and shot off!

Sorry Mr Alex it seems i missed one of your questions. The car has AEM EMS but i believe that not all of there ECU's have the datalog function. Can i ask how would this help could you pull the turbo ID off it or just to find out what boost i should see on high? Mr Sukhy No my car is not from whifbitz they have supply'd almost allof the parts in the 2 yrs i've had it though!.. top company very helpfull even with people like me who are a very demanding on terms and conditions of trade. Highly recomend them to anyone!

Mr Alex I'll get pictures if i can but my phones camera has decided not to work and i have no other one handy so i'll see about borrowing someones. Mr Guigsy Yes i thout so to when the biggest GT4088R max's out at 675hp surely that would be up in the 2bar region and an aggressive map Mr Jimmenico I'm In Vilseck Germany nearest city would be Amberg and nearest proper city would be Nuremburg about 2hr's away. I'm driving the supra back to Fife Scotland next Thursday though for a stag do and i'm putting it up for sale to help fund the new Supra.

Ok let me start by saying sorry for the stupid post but as i'm selling the car i want to be truthfull and honest and once again i've come across a speed bump so to speak!..I hate speed bumps!! lol So my car was sold to me as having a Garrett GT4088R turbo at 612hp at ???? boost (i've never seen more than about 0.8 bar) . I have no idea if thats possible on this turbo but i have no reason to doupt the sellers word. The other day i started the car and the exhaust had blown (over night!!) so i check it and the manifolds blowing at the collector. Manifold off and an inspection shows that it was repaired badly before and it's cracked all over the place and a section of the afore mentioned pigeon poo had been blown off. This leads me to some things that make me wonder if it is a GT4088R heres whats got me thinking. The inducer is 61mm and i can't find a GT4088R turbo with that size on there site but could be wrong The turbine side has Precision stamped on it There is a .68 A/R stamped on the turbine again i can't find this spec on there site And lastly i've been killed by a MK3 supra with hybrids and also two newer shape MR2's and a Sciroco VW thing (standard) surely with the garrett and the power i'm supposed to have this should not happen! So what do you think i have and what power? No one in this part of Germany can maintain or check my car as they all just tell me to go away due to to noisey, emissions or a bosch centre told me i'd break there dyno!..if it has 600hp+ Any Idea's?

If nobody knows then I've got to find someone who can look at my car in Germany who knows Supra's and i have no idea where i'd find one of those!

I have a quick question for those in the know about a potential problem with my car. How does the greddy boost solenoid work does it control the boost by opening and closing really fast or like the old school Bren/bleed valve just restrict the signal to the wastegate? The problem: When i give it some large (low/high boost no change) sometimes when i back off there's a noise like ABS pump grinding but a little slower but as the solenoids bolted to the inner wing it sounds like some one with a hammer action drill on the wing!..it's really loud! it stop's when say i switch from high boost to low on the toggle switch, back to high and the noise starts again!..rev the engine and it'll stop altogether untill i get on it again and it'll start again. This doesn't happen every time but maybe 75% of the time. Is this normal because i'm really getting frustrated by the "nice car but what the hell is that noise?" comments. Any help/advice welcome Gary Crouch

The car I believe was last mapped at TDI the problem is that the car is in the south east of Germany with me! I don't know any where near here that even has a rolling road. Any way after checking 5 different shops i finally found one that can atleast order the NGK plugs from the part no in the link Mr Nic gave but firstly it does'nt sat they are Iridium and it says that they are for LPG cars does this sound right?? I started to wonder if they are correct ones when he said that they are 11 Euro each!..does this amount seem right with the costs in the UK?

Thanks for the reply Mr Nic to answer your questions. The car has a GT4088r single and i believe that the car should run about 612hp @ 1.6bar (although i've never seen it go past 1bar on high and 0.3bar on low boost.) The car done a 1000 mile journey with no problem last weekend all the way to the south east of Germany but when i took it out i try'd to hit boost and it started missing really bad. If the HKS twin spark turns out to be faulty i was wondering Mr Whiffin does coil packs 10% better than normal OE ones can i use them without the twin spark amp and be fine? I'll order the plugs (they don't stock iridium ones where i checked) and try them first and the clips will follow if the problem persists! Many thanks Gary Crouch

So here's my problem that i need help with people. I have a problem with my car when i come on boost it misfires, No big deal i know the plugs are needing changed but of course i've read how bad coil packs or clips cause the same problem and they look like they've been in there a long time (I've owned the car just under 2yrs and the car came with the ones in it). Now just for peace of mind i looked up info on here about the HKS Twin spark amp. This is where i think i may also have a problem the info stated that the led should pulse with the ignition! How often and how bright? i ask because my led seems dull all the time and just gets a little brighter when you rev the engine is there a video/demo of how it should look? can this be tested in any way? I don't want to replace plugs,coils and clips and find the twin spark amp thingy's goosed and i've blown over 400 quid for nothing! All help and input welcome as i need this sorted as the cars for sale to fund the new one i'm building but i can't sell it if it does'nt work. Thanks Gary Crouch

I've been thinking about this for a while now my car was mapped on v-power and i asked if i could run other high octane fuels and was told not to it was mapped on v-power so stick with it. The catch now is i want to bring my car to Germany in the summer for a play will i have to limit the boost or remap it? Can you tell by watching the AFR's on the gauge as i have an AEM EMS and have no EGT read out or any other warnings ( need syvecs on the new car). I would rather not find out the fuel was bad by having it pink so bad it puts a hole in the piston or some thing equaly horrible.

No is the simple answer. The EU got all wound up about us using the British kite mark and performing our own tests and said we had to get inline with there tests and standards they introduced things like the sharps test ( resistance to puncture from shap objects) some of the best helmets on the market failed (carbon ones etc) and the cheap plastic ones passed (due to being hard plastic) so don't just assume that it has the stamp on the back its as good as the expensive ones. I have a Caberg 170 pound helmet and a Arai rx7GP worth about 600 quid then and the difference is huge both are safe but the arai has better fit a "D" ring strap better noise reduction lighter and less head bob at high speeds,The caberg has the internal flip down sun visor and a buckle type strap (not allowed on some tracks) but better than having to carry extra visors and stopping to change them all the time. When it comes to helmets spend the money be safe and comferatable.

Yes you can you can have mine for 14,000GBP! lol In all fairness it looks and sounds like a good bit of kit and i can't wait to get my new supra together and try my stroker and see what all the fuss is about.

whom do people use for European deliverys? I have a supra in Scotland and i'm thinking of getting it out to Germany after Christmas, If i'm going to work here for another year i need a toy with me and the CBR1000 isn't really ideal.

I'm unsure of what lift mine are but they are 280's and i have 1000cc injectors. The idle when cold goes from trying to stall and the car shudering/rattling to 2500rpm ish, warm it idles as it should smooth at little under 1000rpm. The big thing with my cams (don't think its the turbos fault) is the power climbs and keeps doing so and feels like its still gaining power when the car runs out of revs!..it pulls harder and harder and then the shift light comes on despite still trying to surge forwards.

I took a HKS triple plate out because it needs refurbed it was insane interms of how hard it bit! everybody thought i was a yob reving the car hard then just shooting off at every stop but i stalled it 3 times in about 2 miles trying to slip it. Fitted a carbonetics twin plate from Mr Whiffin and it's a bit lighter and so much better in traffic but i've heard bad things about the tripple of this forum, I've only just completed the 1000 mile run in of the clutch so we'll see how it responds to some proper abuse next time it's out.

Quick random question..is there a tablet/powder form of HGH?? want the results of the stuff but NO WAY am i stickin myself! I'm sick of goin to the gym and tryin to watch what i eat and getting nothing for my efforts.

The V8's are quick but i just love how in the states you see a huge yank tank comin screemin out the burnout box or what ever and you think nice then it stops and you see a 35 stone monster squeezed in the seat and cage!!! all you need is to see a bucket of chicken on the floor of the other side and the steriotype is complete! lol

Try the carbonetics twin plate then chap!..instructions state 1000 miles run in then all kinds of strange prep just to give a hard launch!..By the time you do what the instructions say for hard launches you've lost the drag race! lol

well every so often i throw up a thread that people roll there eyes at and think i'm a pleb so heres the post for this month get ready to groan! Insurance no claims the situation is this i have about 7yrs no claims on my vectra i have just got my first year on my supra and i have 2yrs on the CBR1000rr but this is not important the bikes a whole other thing. So my Supra is most going to be sold to make way for a bare shell that i'll build but i want to keep the 1yr no claims i have from the supra so how can it be done? is this 1yr just lost now? if i try and put it on the vectra is that possible if it is i can't use it on the next supra surely not like i can say "can i have that back please i've got another one now!" I'd like to not have to inssure a bare shell just to keep the bonus going as it's likely that it'll take a year plus to put the next one together. So fellow supra owner/builders what have you done in the past to get round this type of sittuation? Many thanks Gary Crouch

OK here's my e-mail address [email protected] if you can give me as much info as possible ie it's a rolling shell so is it standard suspension, is there wire looms in it, is there a diff/a fuel tank just let me know whats actually there so i can look for how many parts are missing?

Can you send me pics of the cage and how much of a deposit you would be after? also what kind of stowage is it in? is it something i could pay per month for and leave it untill my supra sells or do you have it stored in your own shed/warehouse etc?

if only you had the shell for sale in a few weeks i'd rip your arm off for it as if i'm right about what a 8.5 robson cage is then its exactly what i need and i'd just re-shell most of my parts and sell my supra as a 612hp play thing it is! DAMN!!!!
