  1. Well he mite make one for me but i don't want to ask! lol He said it does'nt need a quick spool and i feel if i go back and say i want an undevided manifold then i'm calling him a liar and i don't want to do that. If yourself,Mr Lee P or Mr Whiffin say thats the case who am i to argue i just want a mental supra i can call mine and i let the experts tell me how! Thats why i want a comparison. one car same setup before quick spool on full devided then with quick spool on undevided then i can say what would be the best for me with evidence to back me up.
  2. I like it seems to be a nice bit of kit! I'm sure the s374 turbo with a batcave thingy on a 3.4 would be interesting i might try it just for a giggle. Still want to try the quick spool valve but Mr Whiffins manifolds are only full devided so not setup for running one. It's gonna sound stupid i know but you can't just get the devided manifold and remove the devide on the flange can you? is the actual collector different aswell? He doe's say his manifold don't need one but you can't argue with results and thats what i need to know full devided v spool valve on a car running the same turbo and set up like a before and after kinda thing! Anyone actualy done it?
  3. Mr JamieP is this "Kirk" a member of this forum i'd like to know more about his car? Is it running a stroker kit was the power achieved through race fuel/e85 etc. Your help has been spot on as always and that turbo does look like it can shove the car along nicely in those video's!
  4. To be honest Mr JamieP the actual rev limit is unknown at this stage so i'm just going of the info that due to the longer stroke you loose rpm so i was thinkin it will end up with 7000rpm shift and about 7500rpm limit but i will need to check with Mr Lee P as to whats safe for the kit! The Batmowheel with the new batcave housing thing (can't remember what the housings called)sounds good from what mr whiffin posted on here but need to see results before i commit. I would really like to try the quick spool valve to be honest but again just want some idea of how much difference they make as you need undevided manifold for that and devided spool quicker anyway so which is better? Your question has braught something to light which is a major problem and i don't know what to do! I have carillo h-beam rods but it seems i may have orderd the lesser spec crank by accident which according to his posts max's out at 1200hp! This means if i got the GT42-7576r turbo it could break my engine! I can't believe i did this what an absolute twat i am! I need to contact Mr Lee P and ask for some help, should i drop the turbo size or just not push so hard on the motor?
  5. Ok a while back i posted a question regarding a GT4202r turbo kit and got a few replies but not much! Then at this point Mr JamieP stated that i should just go for a Precision GT42-7576r which is the turbo he currently runs as it is the fastest spooling 1000whp turbo on the market! This to me sounded like a good idea and the fact that he himself recomended it is testamony to its capabilitys (we all know his "beast" is what we all aspire to). Now what i need is input from people running a couple of setups as there is a few options that have been put to me by some very well respected tuners and i'd like to know from the people that own these setups for there actual oppinion on how they run so here goes the options and any input is welcome but first hand experience is preferd! Twin gated fullrace manifold fully devided with GT42-7576r Twin gated fullrace manifold un-devided with Quickspool valve and GT42-7576r Twin gated Whifbits manifold fully devided GT42-7576r Twin gated Whifbits manifold fully devided Borg Warner batmowheel (unsure of actual size required but want the same power as GT42-7576r) Twin gated PHR manifold and iether of these turbo setups with/without quickspool valve Now any combination of these is possible i suppose but obviously for the quick spool valve it needs undevided manifold and whifbits don't do them! I believe that he feels quick spool valves are not needed with his manifold as his manifold can out do the HKS manifold by about 800rpm anyway (i have a HKS now). The Car will be running a 3.4ltr SRD stroker that i have already being deliverd as we speak/type so this should help a little with spool but cut the top rpm back a lot.Thats why i wanted the quick spool valve as i need toget as big a power/torque band as possible but won't be able to rev past about 7000rpm so need as little lag as possible which is almost impossible at these power levels. So anybody run these parts want to give me a review of how they perform i would be very greatfull. Many thanks Gary Crouch
  6. People try'd turbo charging the 3ltr straight six for a long time with some good results but it was so expensive that it put people off! BMW then realised the potential and released there own 3ltr turbo motor and what a car it is i really fancy one of these myself to be honest! They have now let slip the new M5 too... mmmmmm! 4.4ltr V8 turbo 560hp and 501lbf of torque just wait till tuners get a hold of that engine!
  7. Sounds like the ABS valve to me but i do military vehicles! Meritor are the ABS units most of the stuff i deal with run! if it's accesable then i would remove it and take it down the dealers/auto parts store they tend to be all fairly alike but then i work on GM,Oshtruck frieghtliners and other yank stuff! It could be a quick release valve (deals with brake bias stuff they tend to have 3 air connections and a dump to atmosphere ) but then there would not be one per side! they get porouse diaphrams over time and leak when brakes applied but then it would'nt explain the electrical connection! Hope this helps a little but i'm sure someone will know more about Mercedes stuff than me. (I'm just a contractor for the U.S army)

    Twin vs single

I had an idea how much it was going to cost to build my project then i came against issues that are causing problems! main problem is tuners make these high end parts shiney and i can't help myself! That of course is down to me and can't say it was unforseen just i'm weak! lol Spent 9K in 8 months and i'm still about 10k plus from the engine being ready to put together even! After that theres the rest as stated drive shafts, diff, prop, roll cage, wider wheels, swap from AEM EMS to Syvecs and the list goes on and on! Would i buy one ready to roll....no! it would not be mine like buying a Ferrari nice motor but nothing to do with you really. Also when it comes to tuned cars you never know theres always some tyre kicker chav that says "it's mint man good for 1500hp and 1000 shot of nos and you'll hit 350mph in 4.6 seconds man" Don't think so son! It's gona skin me for a year plus to do it right but it will be quality at the end and more importantly it will be truly "MY" supra.
  9. Damn did'nt see the graph there sorry! Very impresive though bet when you screw that turbo up to full chat it'll be mental!
  10. Very "pokey" looking indeed! What power was that run and is it running spray or all boost? Also do you think your turbo's big enough.lol
  11. Can't help but know the problem getting my tripple plate HKS out was a nightmare thought i was gonna have to take the engine mounts off to tilt the engine and allow it to come off! Ended up just jacking the front of the engine up a bit and two of us just got it past the bulk head. The twin carbonetic went on a treat after to so that was a bonus! Good luck!
  12. I'm going to need a cage soon so i may be interested if the numbers add up and the mods alow it! Also is it possible to have the cage chrome or is that something i'd have to organise myself after the fact? Only ask as i don't know what cusco offer.
  13. Thats the proper wheels look the same when you look straight on but they don't stick out to snap the shins of the people on the pavement! that is a lovely shell aswell perfect to start a project on! Mr JamieP you have too much time and money yet another potential legend amung mere mortals! iether way i'm sure it or your V8 will be a lesson in perfection again!
  14. Can't believe they sell these on ebay and they wonder why our insurance goes through the roof! they sell the thievin gits the stuff on Ebay for god sake! Surely there is no excuse to have one of these legaly so should be made to stop selling these to the general public.
  15. Nice combo of engine and shell i've had two sierra's this shape heted them try'd for 8 months to kill the first one(it was my first car so just 1.8ltr)but have to say i have a real soft spot for them now go figure. two things i noticed though firstly they are about the worst wheels i've ever seen on a sierra as the face protrudes about two inches from the rim. second never ever grab the rollcage like the passanger does thats a sure way to lose your fingers if the worst happens! If anybody can do this with both class and insanity i have complete faith in Mr JamieP!
  16. Would i buy a single turbo supra again!....no to put it straight forward! Great car love it to bits but should of built my own so it was how i wanted it. The car cost 17k and i've spent/spending the same again to strip it back and start again to my specs! Only have half the engine parts and i've done 9k in 8 months and still no where near ready to even start bolting the engine together yet! buy standard and do it how YOU want then you can take extra pride that you did it!
  17. To be honest mate i've just started so not much to tell yet just putting an engine together on the side untill i can get the diff/prop and driveshaft to take the power. so far i've only got Hypertune plenum, corbonetic twin plate clutch, billit main caps, carillo H beam rods, just sorting the custom pistons and crank with Mr Lee p at the moment. i was planning on a fullrace turbo kit next week or two but seems theres others to check first! is this not what you use Mr jamieP? do you rate the fullrace manifolds or would you say theres better out there as they are devided i believe.
  18. Nobody had one of these turbos then? I'm sure Mr Whifin said it was a good turbo but what others would be recomended in the same 1000hp bracket? Feel free to chime in at any time honestly anybody its something i need to know before i buy a fullrace kit and find it's cack!!
  19. Well its time for me to post one of those threads that everybody hates as it's been gone over fifty million times but i have to ask as the turbo i'm considering isn't found much on the search function. The question is this... the turbo i'm thinking of is the GT4202r but the thing is on the fullrace site it states this is rated at 1020hp but is this fly or wheel hp? would this be the rating at 2bar+ boost levels with race fuel or nitrous? Will the fact that i'm going to run a 3.4ltr stroker effect the power out put of the turbo? it should help the turbo spool but does it effect actual power as in two engine identical spec in all ways but one strokerd would they get different top line figures? Sorry for the daft question but lets face it the turbo makes such a difference in the way the car behaves i want to make sure i have as much info as i can get for an informed choice. Any input welcome. Gary Crouch

    MOT Worries.

Excellent i'll give it a bash mate see how she does but at the moment i'm thinking that iether the car will need re-mapped to get under the levels required or the car will unfortunatly be taken of the road for a while so that i can get a standard engine in it MOT it and swap back to the new engine i'm doing as a project just now (not that it will be better but i can try)

    MOT Worries.

Hey nige i'm from Dunfermline! think i seen your car before at Knockhill september i think! Anyway i'll give it a go but think that'll just clear a little bit crud and not sort the problem entirely. Is it safe with additives i've heard loads of problems with them perishing rubber seals and effecting running? I'd be willing to use a more lax place for MOT but don't know which ones are more relaxed in these matters!

    MOT Worries.

Well it's the time we all dread coming up really soon and time to start making plans! Here is where the problem is the car is sound but as with alot of us emisions are horrid (about 7x legal amounts during a recent check) now the question is this is there a way to have the car mapped to get under the regs or is there somewhere that i can buy a 4" cat for test purposes? so that we know the lay of the land i have 1000cc injectors and AEM EMS all running 612hp on high boost (550hp low). Also i've been told that they will pass the car for noise but should i plumb the screamer pipe back in will this help emissions? I'm sure i'm not the only one thats had this problem so how did you do it? Any and all help will be appreciated as always Gary Crouch
  23. I do have. One has a ciggy burn, please email [email protected] for pics. Replied I hope there was a lot. They are in need of some love for sure. They will go with the headlights, as I presume anyone that purchases them would require them. PM replied. Pictures and things of that nature will be posted shortly of all remaining bits. Currently these parts are sold. Transmission Flywheel Clutch CMC Clutch pedal Differential Feel free to inquire per email, as this usally will net a faster response. Thank you [email protected]
  24. Thanks for the link Mr Whiffin. Where would i locate the code on the clutch is there some where in perticular that this will be stamped?? As for the stroker kit i did have a look its a good price but i already have conrods its just the crank and pistons i need. Is the BC stuff any good as i've heard people talk about them as if they're "bargain basement" but i've never actually heard of there stuff failing and pushing good numbers to!
  25. Is there a part no somewhere that i can check as i think it may be a HKS GD Pro clutch but with the price of the refurb i don't want to order the wrong bit! The carbonetic was baught for the 3.4 engine i've started as i'm starting from scratch,If this is however a GD Pro then it can handle more power than the carbonetic so the carbonetic will be installed on the current 612hp engine for better drivability and the HKS will go on the big build engine!
