  1. Have you something wedged in the runner on one side?
  2. I read in the papers a while back that a good private dentist can now make £350k plus a year, thats why they charge so much. I had a filling replaced after it fell out last year. It was done by the same dentist who originally put it in, yet even though it was his work that failed and fell out and he still charged me £140 for 20 mins work. Rip Off, I only go now when i have too
  3. What bushes could you change in 20 minutes anyway!!!

    Wheely Lucky

Changed front wheel bearing today and while i was there i thought i'd give the UK spec brakes a test fit to see if they clear the wheels. HOORAY, i think they will be okay unless you guys tell me otherwise. I have at best a 2mm gap to the wheel but nothing fouls. The yellow sticker on the caliper is the one covering the Supra logo, and has peeled a couple of mm at one end. The spokes of the wheel catch the 2mm peel but obviously the sticker will be gone when fitted. These will be okay without spacers won't they.
  6. Im considering a gallon of petrol and a match right now!!!! Didn't want to buy another box and have the hassle of fitting it if it is something silly and electronic. Has this ever happened to any Supra's
  7. Im no PC geek and what i know you literally could put on a stamp. If thats called a restore great, hope it works, did for me!
  8. Can anyone shed any light on what this problem might be. First of all, cars an MR2 SW20 with an autobox, 3 speed with overdrive. 1) A while ago it started dropping out of overdrive 2) then overdrive stopped working altogether 3) Overdive came back but would stop working intermitantly 4) Then car not returning to first when in Drive so have to pull stick to L to move off 5) Now no 3rd gear or overdrive unless car decides to let us have it. 6) Now O/D light flashes sometimes but not always Ive changed the fluid and filter but with no luck, problems just gradually getting worse. Wont be long til shes down to 1st gear only. This is a £500 car so not worth getting a garage to look at it but i don't know what else to try. Do i need a new gearbox or what can i do. She wont sell/scrap it cos she loves it to much but its getting to the point where we can only do short journeys as it goes everywhere in 2nd at 50mph. Even trucks pass it on the Motorway. Please Help!
  9. I had exactly same thing with mine although different virus. Spoke to IT bloke at my girlfriends work and he showed me how to reset PC to a date when it was okay. I moved it back 2 days prior to virus and all okay now. Did install Norton360 afterwards for a good clean up, worked great but now very slow on start up. If you don't get any joy with the above let me know and i'l give you the instructions for the reset

    ABS Rotor

    I thought as much, cheers
  11. That don't sound good
  12. Spoke to Charlie at Thor today to see how long the waits going to be for new stock of the delimiters. He reckons they are unavailable at the moment due to moving premises and lack of time, but should be availabe again in about a month. Just a heads up if anybody is wanting one
  13. Hi everybody, Just a quick daft home mechanic type question. Just putting front wheel bearing back in and wondered if the abs rotor should be greased. When it came out the teeth were caked in white grease, as was the sensor. Not sure if this has just squirted on it from the bearing or if its meant to be greased. TRSM dosen't mention anything about grease so im guessing not. Any help greatfully appreciated Al
  14. I saw a plumbers van in oxford years ago where below the drivers window was a life size graphic of the bottom half of a person sat on a toilet with his trousers down. Poor bloke driving it looked embarassed but advertising worked cos i remember it even know years later. Sadly before the days of cameras on phones
  15. Again with the roof rack, are trailers becoming cool too!!!! I want to know what would happen if you undid the mole grips on the front corner!
  16. I love the rat look which is great on classic yanks, but modern cars look bad enough, let alone purposely making them look worse. Generally all models seem to be heading in the same ultimate computer design driven aerodynamic shape with just subtle differences to tell them apart. What ever happened to charachter?
  17. Is it just me or do you need a crap roof rack to complete the modern rat look
  18. Its called a feeler guage, very cheap from any motorist shop. Wouldn't go hitting the plugs with a hammer though, justs needs a very light tap to adjust, remember you are only bending a very thin piece of metal.

    LSD or Not

I might just bring it up to you one of these days, long way from Oxford though

    LSD or Not

This is a bit advanced for me, im just a bloke working in his garage at home. I don't have a boroscope and even if i did i wouldn't know what the differences were to look at. Are you saying though that you can have an lsd or non lsd in the same outer casing, hence looking inside. Apologies if i sound a bit thick, im not, i just don't know much about the internal workings of supra diffs, or any others for that matter.

    LSD or Not

Just given this a go and yes if you turn one wheel the other dosen't move. I thought with an lsd they were both mean't to turn the same way and non lsd turn opposite ways. Hope nothings broken!!!

    LSD or Not

Hi All Had a 6spd conversion done a while ago and am just trying to confirm whether i now have an LSD. Spoke to Toyota this morning and they have given part no 41110-14730 as the diff from the donor car, but couldn't tell me what type it is. Do any of you Supra Guru's out there recognise or have come across this part number Cheers:search:
  23. All cleared up now. Original definately buggered as before removed, if you held ball joint and pushed/pulled it front to back on car the bushes allowed it to move and there was a metallic clunk. Will put new arm on this morning to check its ok but it does feel much better. I just didn't realise before that they are spherical bearings and not bushes. I still learn something new about this car every time i do some work on it. Thanks for your advice guys
