Short answer = no. There is no point to look for an alternative transmission besides the V160/V161. If you are looking for a six speed box. It's benefits far outweigh any possible savings you will gain going with another box and all the custom crap that go with those. Clutches, shifter alignment, etc. just save up and do it right. I promise you it will be worth it.

The WEDS are nice. Love that wheel. Only thing is that unless you are getting them New with custom widths, WEDS usually don't come wider then 9.5 in that style may even a 10. Check the offsets as well.
