  4. im pretty sure the UK turbos are CT20's and the Jspecs are CT12/CT12A, but what is the difference between the CT12 and the A variant ? EDIT- looks like "wikipedia" says that Jspec models have CT20 turbos and the UKspec has CT12!?!? i am really confused now
  5. bump does anyone know? or a way to find out? Please help!!
  6. does it come with periwinkle cushions and some "dags"?
  7. amazing machines really thats 100 bhp per litre and not a turbo in sight. obviously not as good as a supra:D
  8. I have a 1993 J-spec TT auto and need to replace my turbos, I was looking at CR Turbos website and they seem to have a couple of different turbos listed for supra heres the link: http://www.crturbos.co.uk/product_list.php They have CT20 for the UK spec but CT12 and CT12A for the jspec, does anyone know what the difference is between the jspecs and which of the CT12/CT12A I have? Many thanks

    turbo recon

Hey Jay its Fergus! how are you? I heard from James that you got a 6sp TT. I have just been over to AFR in crawley to talk about my turbos as the first turbo oil seals have gone on mine as well. I think its around 500 per turbo to be refurbed apparently its quite a job to get the turbos off and on again!
  11. Thanks Rob, yeah I will ring Matt at AFR tomorrow hes only 20 mins away. If anyone can shed anymore light on this I would be very grateful:)
  12. hey again Rob, cheers for your quick reply, I am BPU, double decat blitz nur spec rx ehaust, HKS EVC4 boost controller, autobahn 88 FMIC, otherwise completely standard 1993 auto tt
  13. I know smoking exhausts have been extensively covered and have read many threads, but I need to clear up a problem I have; I went out for a spirited drive tonight and all was fine until about an hour in when I noticed smoke behind as I was going along, I pulled over and there was no smoke, so I blipped the throttle and absolutely vast quantities of white/light blue smoke literally billowed from the exhaust, and then settled again until there was no smoke on idle. From reading the threads I gather this is either valve stem seals or something is up with the turbos? can anyone point me in the right direction of what this could be and how do diagnose what it is? BTW it is a 1993 jspec TT auto with around 40k miles on the clock recently gone BPU. Please help!!!!
  14. is there an average operating level for the displayed mmHg on idle ?
  15. the gauge is an 'AutoMeter sport-comp' some american junk which i believe reads from the throttle control side?? and the BC where the air intake side is, sorry not tech minded:taped:
  16. sorry the Gauge shows InHg for -ve and PSI for +ve whereas the EVC4 BC displays mmHg for -ve and bar for +ve. strange I know, however I am interested in what the correct level of mmHg or InHg is on operating idle and also which of the two gauges are most accurate
  17. Hey, Im just trying to do a bit of DIY diagnostics on my '93 auto tt, I currently have a HKS EVC4 boost controller and an 'AutoMeter' boost gauge. At operating temp on idle; the BC displays circa 520 mmHg (or 20 InHg) the gauge shows 18 InHg (or 450 mmHg) which of the gauge and BC is more accurate and are these normal readings??? any help much appreciated:D
  18. just won this on fleabay, didnt realise you were selling it on here! whens a good time to come and get it dude? i take it you would like cash on collection?
  19. just read through the thread and the guide for TTC but cant see if TTC would maybe have some negative effects like damaging the turbo's ? anyone on here done TTC ? many thanks
  20. Don't be silly, I was asking James as he already had them on his car, im not a complete rem I think
  21. James, did you have any trouble fitting these to your supe?
