Just a thought. Instead of getting the car sprayed matt black, Why not get it Vinyl wrapped?, There is a company in Hampshire, just near where I work. It's called RACCOON http://www.raccoon.co.uk/homepage.php. They had a Demo car at Broadlands Recently which for vinyl looked quite good. There was also a Porsche 911 I saw at the weekend which had been vinyl wrapped in matt black, the joins were bearly visible, it looked awsome IMO.

Just a thought have you checked the fan at the front of the engine? is it damaged at all/ fitted correctly/ Viscous coupling on the fan ok as this could cause vibration? had that fault on a mates 3 series BMW where one of the fan blades was missing causing the engine to shake. just a thought?

Spent today finishing up my 3 week "Resto" project + full service on my Mums 1984 Volvo 240 estate which we've owned since 1988 lol!. Needed It as MOT is this Wednesday. Should be all good now for another 25 years, its clean n shiney with a new coat of Underseal and Paint here n' there. It's done 176,000 miles total and still going lol!(fingers crossed) , it does 2,000 miles a year now my Mum drives it. -
I don't own one, but I work on Lexus /RX`s (MCU35) RX 300/ (GSU35)350/ (Hybrid MHU38) 400H and are quite good cars with lots of toys as standard. My Dad has a Black RX400h SE-L which he thinks is a fantastic car. On a recent trip to Cornwall from Hampshire we averaged (according to the trip computer) 36 mpg which think is good for a car with thre aerodynamics of a brick, fully loaded/5 up. With just him on a long journey he's seen 39 mpg, but can drop to 20mpg if gunned everywhere, lol. Also being Hybrid it's Congestion charge free for London. and the road tax is cheaper than the 300/350 models. If I was to buy one (Other than the hybrid) I'd go for the (MCU35) RX300 SE W/SAT NAV. I wouldn't bother with SE-L RX300/350 as the Air suspension is a bit gimmicky IMO and the height sensors on the Air suspension have a habit of siezing up making the supension drop unevenly (like a dicey looking Low Rider lol!) or the Air Compressors can pack up/ get noisy and can be expensive to repair. I'd Ignore the RX350 as there arent many about as most people went for the 400h when they came out so resale maybe better on 300/400h IMO and to be honest all I ever service are the 400h/300. IMO Don't even get me started about LPG lol!pita. Nice Idea, but I'd avoid at all cost IMO on these as had too many experiences of rectifying faults on these engines from my experience . i.e burned out valves/pistons/ cats/ oxygen sensors/ ECU's etc..because of the LPG conversion. IMO the engines dont like these conversions and spit there dummies out (Although someone on the Lexus owners forum will correct me wrong!) . Plus the how long it would take to recoupe the money saved from the coversion to benifit, and again resale value IMO. So in short, IMO I'd wait that little longer and spend the extra on the 400h bearing in mind Resale Value/demand. Servicing/ running costs on the 400H maybe cheaper as the 300 & 350 eat front Discs and Pads every 10-15k approx and require differential oils front and rear every 20k/ Higher roadtax/ fuel mpg unlike the 400h. But another add is that all RX`s eat tyres especially front on the inner and outer edges which is normal and see 10-15k approx average, more if just motorway driven (Again IMO another don`t get me started response on how the tyres on an RX should wear lol!). Just keep an eye out as they have been around a while and there are a few dogs out there that have been used and abused. IMO, Full lexus dealer service history is a must, especially on the 400h. Apologies if you lost the will to live for this long blog, lol!. Any questions ( Dunno how usefull my answers will be if asked?) Cheers.

Cool (IMO) Volvo Amazon -
I use the Turtle Wax Extreme Wheel wax on my 18" TTE wheels after I wash it. (about once a month) Once a year I take the wheels off, Clean and Polish/Wax them inside n out using the Meguires 3 step/ Paint Cleaner, Polish, Carnuba Wax on them. I've had my wheels for just over 3 years and they still look like new, considering they have a Laquered Diamond cut finish on them. From what I've read, Poorboys wax appears to be fairly popular for wheels and Bilberry wheel cleaner for washing them off. But still like said does'nt take much to make a decent set of wheels corrode unfortunately. A full refurb would possibly be the only way to ensure a decent lasting finish imo.

My daily run around is a Silver 99' Toyota Starlet SR 1.3. I absolutely love it as it's (IMO)the other end of the performance scale from my Supra, it's nippy (But wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding when compaired with the Supra,LOL!.) like a Go Kart around town, and (IMO)good on fuel. I get about 300 miles on about £30/ full tank. Plus I'm not paranoid about driving/ parking it any where, as I am with my Supra. It feels nice to drive my Supra now and then rather than all the time as I dont want to get bored with it. (or so it wont kill my wallet and enthusiasm for it, LOL!.)

Unfortunately I can't make this now, as quite busy with work. -
I would like to apologize to the following people for this "Repost", and that I shall not make such a mistake again. I did try and search:search: under most of the Tag's, but not obviously hard enough:rolleyes:. Now can we put the Pitch Forks and Burning Torches away now. I'm going to sit in the corner now and think about what I did;). Could be worse. Could have been another "Ken Block" post, LOL!

I've not seen this before. Thought it was quite interesting . Not something I'd do to my car IMO. Maybe a replacement for the "Lambo Door" design? . http://www.disappearing-car-door.com/

6 Years and still counting.. As and when I get time to drive it, which is usually once a month to the local meets if I'm lucky. Still makes me smile when ever I drive it though!

Heres two on white supra's. One is with red uk calipers (I know, cliche)with supra logo in white with black underline. And one with white uk calipers. Like themodifiedkid said, I have also used hammerite (both spray and brush) paint on my calipers and not had an issue.
