  1. Someone walking in to a shop and walking out with something without paying doesn't fall under civil law. and yes I used the edit button. in exactly the same way you did on your last post (I doubt you were you trying to be ironic????), to correct spelling. No further sentences were added or deleted!
  2. "The police did arrive at one point after a report of a stolen car being made, but little could be done at that point, as certain people had indeed taken as much as they could, including we fear customers cars." "The final chapter of the evening was arranging for transportation of the 2 x Civics back down to Cwmbran, where the Chorlton brothers' usual car transporting crew were interupted by a sudden swarm of Police, who insisted that unless the original owners could produce a logbook, they would arrest anyone who attempted to move the Civics" If the police had been there from the begining to anly allow access to the staff to collect their possessions then people would not be left without cars and parts. Maybe I should give up my job seeing that you have now explained this all to me Scott. - All those years of exams and studying and working 12 hour days!!! I wish I'd met you sooner to tell me that what I was learning and practicing wasn't true:( At least now I know so I will hand in my notice and find the true path
  3. I mean about calling the police and taking proper action at the begining rather than at the end of the event.
  4. Quoted from post The police did arrive at one point after a report of a stolen car being made, but little could be done at that point, as certain people had indeed taken as much as they could, including we fear customers cars. These people, were all owed huge amounts by Max and Albert (up to a reported 380,000 pounds to one guy), and the more we discovered about how much Max and Albert had dug themselves in, the more likely we we would find that we would have to fight for parts/cars that were ours or our customers. It was a horrible environment, with altercations, by the time I had got into the office to begin scavenging anything worth while keeping, it had already been ranshacked by a group of randomers working on behalf of someone else. The final chapter of the evening was arranging for transportation of the 2 x Civics back down to Cwmbran, where the Chorlton brothers' usual car transporting crew were interupted by a sudden swarm of Police, who insisted that unless the original owners could produce a logbook, they would arrest anyone who attempted to move the Civics. With the logbooks being over 2 hours away with the owners, and the time closing 11.30pm, the frustration of the day got to me, and I just felt that I was on a losing battle. After a bit of cry, I was pulled to a side by the reporting Sergent. He asked for the entire story, and I gave it to him straight. He made the decision to allow the Civics to go, given the risk that they may get taken away by somebody else if left in that area. As the surrounding drama was a Civil Matter, and not criminal, the police refused to secure the area, offering a drive-by every now and then to ensure the unit was not broken into. The police refused to cover the costs to take the 2 skylines to the police impound, and said that we would need to leave them, or cover the costs for transporting them. Show me what you read Tell me where the police said they couldn't do anything?
  5. Then the police were imbeciles. I have read the full post and many have the same view as me on the matter
  6. I thought so but just wanted to make sure you didn't get the wrong end of the stick mate;)
  7. I did not call him a thief. I said that he obviously panicked and thought that he would get as much out as he could before the proper process began. He would have got his money, etc. if he went about this the proper way. By delaying and not seeking advice, he may have caused others to lose out. I am not saying this was done at all maliciously, but it certainly wasn't the best thing to do. He did what he thaught was best and some people have got their possessions back. Others however will not. Just clearing up that I neither said or implied anything of the sort
  8. In my job I see this very very regularly, especially nowadays with the vast amount of businesses that are going under. As I said before, by way of accounting records, the creditors could pursue their claim to ownership through the insolvency practitioner and let the gangsters, etc. chase after the owners. This is a business and therefore not a 'personal' matter as the business is an entity in its own right. Give your fantasy land reasoning to the guy that turns up and finds that his car is gone and probably in pieces in some dodgy parts yard. BTW, this is covered in the Companies Act 2006 and Insolvency law so this is not a personal matter by any means. All I know is this would have probably worked out a lot fairer to the genuine owners and creditors of the business if the police were called in and secured the premises until the winding up process was started by the genuine creditors Applying your own logic does not make what you say right.
  9. It's not a civil matter if people you don't know are walking in and taking stuff. That's theft! If the people were owed money then they should get on the creditors list and get it back if and when the company is liquidated. The owners of their vehicles would still have been allowed to drive their cars away after showing proof of ownership.
  10. Don't you mean 'pain in the neck'???
  11. That was handled in a totally wrong manner!!! The police should have been called immediately, and the guy wrote that explanation was as bad as the rest of the thieves. Because they were so fixed on getting what they thought was rightfully theirs, they allowed enough time for others to just stroll in and take their pick. A sad story but the police are there for a reason! (Even though I have my issues with the police - but that's another story)
  12. My brother has one of those (225) and his cam belt tensioner gave out and buggered the valves. He had to skim the head and install new valves, gaskets, etc. Nice car though
  13. The business is worth approximately 2-3 times the NPBIT (Net Profit Before Interest and Tax) plus net realisable value of assets plus goodwill for a business your size. Will you be selling the company or just the business? Get a professional valuer in to handle the sale for you otherwise you'll be regretting it in the months to come. I would be inteested to see your balance sheet so that I could advise on your tax position as that has to be taken into account.
  14. They couldn't get Al Capone for boot-legging and extortion and eventually sent him down for for tax evasion........... He ended up going mad as a result of his syphilis and and died a nutter. .................It's a slippery slope:no:
  15. Admitedly I really like the spoiler......... It's ironic that the 'spoiler' is the best feature
  16. Dude that's terrible! I take it that it was parked on your property and not council/private land?
  17. Emissions tests are carried out according to engine model not car model. Therefore if they test you on the GTE they are in breach of the rules and you will have good cause to report them. My advice is to be as clear as possible with them that the GTE engine and GE engine are NOT the same.
  18. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?221716-Latest-car-gone-for-MOT-and-Decat-fit-this-morning&p=2806305 Read my post (No 10)
  19. I think I have the inlet manifold. It's in the shed so I'll check and let you know.
  20. It's kind of like the X6.......It has no real 'place'. Nice all the same but not my thing
  21. Leave him a response feedback stating that he hasn't even collected the items and is a liar!
  22. I practice Ju Jitsu and Kick Boxing. I have also dabbled in Wing Chun, Krav and Shotokan karate. My personal opinion would be Ju Jitsu (not BJJ), as it is effective and very disciplined. Krav is just a more violent and less disciplined version of traditional Ju Jitsu. On the other hand, Shotokan karate is mainly a competion based form of karate, and good if you/kids want want to compete in events/tournaments. The alternative would be kyokushin karate which is much more aggressive and violent. Kung Fu has a lot of form but broken down is actually quite effective. The problem I had was that after coming from KB and JJ I found it very slow and boring. My best advice is to start somewhere and you will soon see what you prefer. As long as you're dong something then that is all that matters really. Hope that helps
  23. Ok, another problem that I think may be connected has reared its head. The milometer light and stereo light are staying on even when car is locked and everything has been switched off. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
