  1. Anyone here got some handy tips for selling at car boot sales? I've got a load of stuff I don't want from a house i've just moved into - records, ornaments, books, pictures etc. Rather than selling on ebay with the all hassle of p & p, i'm doing a couple of local car boots over the weekend - one is a big one. I can think of better ways to spend my holidays, but the fun tickets might come in handy.
  2. Do any of you have the Supra owned and paid for by the company or claim mileage for using it? If the co owns it, do you know what the percentage charge/value and benefit in kind is?
  3. I overtook a Clio 172 on a short stretch of dual carriageway at WOT, eased off and pulled into the inside lane. A Lotus Carlton went past me like I was standing still. I didn't see it coming, but I doubt I would have got close anyway. It sounded modded, but i'm running at 1.1bar. My uncle had one brand new, it was very quick - loads of torque.
  4. Also, you can have it put as unequal ownership when you sign the contracts. If you are paying more into it, try to get the ownership percentage to reflect this. It might be worth speaking to a solicitor if you want to go ahead.
  5. I'd go for it. If you do fall out, then just sell the house - I doubt you'd lose money on it. A mate of mine bought a house with his girlfriend, they fought the whole time and eventually split up after 9 months. They each got 3k profit after all the fee's and stuff. Either that or it works out fine and you're both on the ladder. You may as well pay your own mortgage instead of someone else's.
  6. Some of my mates were on CD:UK. They were on TV, perving behind Cat Deeley. One of them got mistaken for a member of Busted and chased by loads of screaming teenyboppers.

  8. I thought flats could only be leasehold as no single flat owns the land they are built on?

    Wales Meet #1

The problem isn't that it is a big place, it's that the roads tend to be a bit twisty. It takes me 3 hours+ to get to Cardiff from mid wales
  10. It is dangerous, thats why I want it felled. The neighbour said he's had the forestry over and they said to take it down, it's some sort of conifer so I doubt it is protected? Like I said, a bloke from the forestry commission is coming to have a look tonight.
  11. Tight track that, how did you get on? A guy at work races bikes up there, I heard they are putting a new stand and facilities at some point.
  12. Thanks for the info, you've confirmed what I already suspected - ignorance is bliss where the council are concerned. I've learned that the hard way through dealing with Snowdonia National Park and the Environment Agency at work. Idiots, the lot of them. Someone at work knows a bloke in the Forestry, he's coming to have a look later. It needs to fall at an angle into my garden, shouldn't be too difficult for a pro. I just want it away from my garage and car.
  13. Thanks. I would have a go myself, but its right between my house and the neighbours and it has to fall in a certain direction. There is a few smaller ones i'm going to tackle though. £400 sounds reasonable enough, I don't have a clue really. I want to keep the tree for firewood so that might save a bit?
  14. I've just bought a house with a load of trees in the garden, there is one that is a bit big and too close to the garage. Does anyone know roughly how much it will cost to have it chopped down by pro's? Cheers

    Second car

A 2001 1.7 Astra Diesel Estate. Does the job. I'm getting a Nissan Navara Outlaw when they sort out the delivery times, should be the end of the month.
  16. I left mine on the turbo timer outside a shop, a policeman came in to tell me that my car was still running. I explained that it was locked and would turn off in a few seconds, he just said 'ok' and walked off.
  17. We had a 20k Transit pinched last year. The driver left it running at the goods inwards of a big company in Wednesbury, walked to the front of the van to get something signed and someone jumped in it and drove off. Never saw it again. Its at a 'director level' with the insurance company, but I don't expect we'll get anything.
  18. 'Liar' was an awesome song. Good video as well.
  19. The Dawn of the Dead remake was ok, I didn't like it as much as the original though. Different film really.
  20. Great, another pointless horror remake that will no doubt totally miss the point of the original. Substitute atmosphere and menacing undertones with with loud 'nu metal' music and comic book gore. That'll work.
  21. This one? http://209.123.187.136/test/img/reports/208p4P1010274.JPG
  22. I can't say I noticed tbh, not a bodykit fan myself. Its got a huge veilside sticker down the side, and a big 'V' on the back.
  23. Not nice. What is it with the japanese and wood veneer? The gauges are all non-turbo related, oil pressure etc. I guess the guy who had it before wanted people to think it was a turbo? Fooled me at first.
