...and 'exclamation' The worst ones are mistakes in peoples sigs and the line underneath the username. It is annoying enough once, let alone hundreds of times.

I'll let you know tomorrow, i've got a few errands to run but i'll be around sunday afternoon. Like I said, i'm near lichfield but will be heading back to wales through cannock and up the M54 later on if that is more convenient for you? If it's easier to go in one more local, no probs. I'm not 100% I can make it yet, depends how saturday night goes

I'm in the midlands this weekend, in Shenstone (Lichfield). I'm probably going to be a bit pushed for time but might be able to take you for a spin on Sunday?

Not sure, I never had a Saturn. I'll rephrase it: The N64 was the first console to popularise and take full advantage of an analogue control stick.
-
I agree with most of what you say. However, regarding the N64 not being revolutionary - it was was the first console to have an analogue control stick, now standard across the board and Mario 64 pushed platformers into 3D. Yes, some of the camera angles were annoying but it pretty much formed the template for every platform game from then on. The engine was later used to much better effect on Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is still an amazing game. Most of what was coming out on the PS (and DC to a lesser extent) were just rehashes of existing games types with prettier graphics, or faux 3D with the play locked in 2D (Tekken for example). The Dreamcast had innovations being the obvious one - online capabilities being the obvious one, but IMO the N64 changed more.

No, not the pipeline card. This is a genuine £3000 of free petrol, you just need to buy a new Subaru to claim it From Pistonheads: "If you're in the market for a Scoobie, now might be the time to buy, as the company's summer incentive scheme kicks in. With fuel costs at their highest for 20 years, Subaru UK has announced that it'll give away fuel vouchers worth £3,000 in its biggest-ever freebie. Subaru reckons it's the equivalent to nearly two years’ free fuel for the average driver -- although our calculations show that a hard-driven car returning 20mpg at £0.96/litre will complete just 13,766 miles before the giveaway runs out."

I wouldn't touch the Admiral group with a barge pole, I was insured with them the first year I had my car. They made countless admin mistakes, including cancelling my insurance (with no warning) because they missed the obvious fact that I had paid in full months before Another (ex) member had a nightmare when it came to legitimately claiming for an accident off them. As mentioned above, I would be very mindful that they have your car insured correctly.

Ok, i'll agree to disagree about the controllers I never use the original joypad for any of the games i've got, mainly the Sega Arcade stick for beat 'em ups. Takes me back, arguing about consoles. I remember fighting the corner for the 3DO years ago on the school BBS I think of it like this: Dreamcast vs N64 - Predator vs Rashomon. Rashoman is undoubtedly the better film, but which one have I watched more times?
-
I had a N64 but not PS, IMO the dreamcast was and still is a very good arcade games machine. For revolutionary and in-depth games the N64 was no doubt better, but for pick up and play fun the dreamcast was IMO superior. That is not to say that they didn't both have good games of each type, but that the Dreamcasts strengths were in the the coin-op style games Sega and Capcom used to churn out in their sleep. Goldeneye is probably my favourite game ever, and the N64 my top console. However, it is the Dreamcast I still enjoy playing more. I concur about the controller, but that is what aftermarket controllers are for. I've got the arcade power stick, a full wheel/pedal set-up and the gun for my DC, all awesome with the right sort of games.

What are you on about? Popularity is everything, every song that gets to the top of the charts is obviously miles better than those that don't Get him a dreamcast and all the toys

Fair enough, at least you have a decent reason to sell which is more than I can muster. The Aristo is another alternative, but I am not a fan of the way it looks. I'll take my Supra out for a run along the coast at lunchtime, that should settle any doubts
-
Hmmmm, tempting offer but I am going to have to say no It would probably be a bit slow compared to your last one anyway and is it not a UK manual you need to complete the set? The more I think about it, the more it looks like I will keep the Supra. I'll have a beer fuelled conversation with my mates at the weekend just to be sure either way

I don't know, Like I said I probably can't justify a fun car at the moment. I use my Navara a lot of the time as I always seem to have big things to carry as I am doing my houses up. As far as alternatives - are there any? Stuff like Elises and Caterhams don't float my boat - no power. An Audi S8 might be an option, but they are a bit anonymous. I am going to buy Autotrader later and have a browse, but TBH if I did sell i'd probably put the money in the bank until I feel another car calling me.

Indeed, multiplayer Powerstone 2 is so much fun it's ridiculous.

The kitchen bit was a joke, i'm getting a new one whether I sell the car or not The car just doesn't hold the same allure for me that it once did, simple as that. My decision would be based on that, not financial reasons. I've had it four years now, it might be time to move on. I'll probably end up keeping it, I don't know.

I've had nagging thoughts of selling my Supra for a while now, and they are getting more and more frequent so I *might* take the plunge. I don't get chance to use it much anymore, mainly due to a lack of time and because I tend to drive my company car. I take the Supra out at least once a week, but it usually just to give it a run. I am finding it hard to justify keeping a car that has given me four years of excellent service, but now spends most of its life in my garage. Other factors such as the rapidly deteriorating image bother me, and I don't think I need a 'fun' car at the moment. A new kitchen would be nice I don't know, just thinking out loud really. Anyone else have these moments?

Strange timing, I had mine out for the first time in about 3 years over the weekend. They are good machines, but were muscled out by the Sony marketing machine. Pretty much every decent arcade game of the late 90's/early 00's has a faithful dreamcast version. Its excellent for a quick thrash on Streetfighter Alpha 3, Soul Caliber, DOA, Powerstone 2, House of the Dead 2, Sega Rally, Daytona 2000, Marvel vs Capcom 2 etc. I picked mine up with a load of games brand new for next to nothing when it was on the way out.

Would a TT supra not be more expensive to run than a 350z in terms of petrol, insurance etc? Also, there is no warranty if things go wrong. I suppose it depends how you pay for them in the first place. I bought my supra outright, but spent enough on mods in the first 3 years to have had a much more expensive car on the drip.
-
These threads always go the same way, usually with the same people involved. If someone came on with a Mclaren F1, we'd no doubt have the 'if I spent blah on a supra, it would beat yours' response. One mans pleasure is another mans poison.
-
I would only go for an interest free mortgage if I had a low loan to value percentage, as there is obviously less chance of negative equity that way. I'd go for the 40 year mortgage, you should be remortgaging every 3-5 years so you can just bring the term down each time.
-
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, you don't have to agree with it. The bbs would be a boring place if everyone kept quiet when some asks whether 20" spinners will look good on a Supra. I for one don't really understand why people ask 'what do you think of these wheels' or 'which spats'. Your car, your choice - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I do agree with a lot of the criticisms you refer to, but now I take the 'if you can't say something nice, don't say it' line. Hence the low post count

4:50, got to allow 10 minutes to walk home.
-
At the other end of the scale, we're going to pick up our 8 week old Jack Russell tomorrow after work. Got a springer spaniel 'reserved' as well. I'm just sorting out a run and kennel for them on the grass outside the office.

It is worth it, just about. Waves are better in the winter and there are none of the following in the water: Speedboats Jetskis Rubber Rings/dinghys Fat people eating chips Grannies Children Jellyfish People on foam bodyboards Crap surfers/canoeists/bodyboarders getting in the way I usually share the line-up with a seal in January.
-
I get the 'you can do mine next' while mowing the lawn among other things. Hilarious. My favourite is after surfing in January - standing in a 5mm wetsuit, gloves, boot and hood, lips frozen and hands shaking so much you can't get the car key in the door. Some ancient dug up always potters over and says something along the lines of: "Is it cold" I have, so far, managed to remain polite
