  1. If weather ok i'll be there to have a snoop around the new place now they have fully moved in
  2. Where do you get your performance numbers? The performance numbers come from the Cartest 2000 computer simulation program. This java-based application allows you to enter specifications for a vehicle, which is normalizes to perform mathematical acceleration and track simulations. This application must make several assumptions about power delivery, center of gravity, suspension geometry, etc. so the results may not match real-world numbers exactly. Every effort has been made by Car-Videos.com to achieve as realistic numbers as possible. In the rare case that satisfactory numbers cannot be achieved, the model in question is removed from the site.
  3. Its not that easy doing quick 0 to 60 times on a prepped drag track with drag tyres so doing it on normal tarmac with road tyres would be very difficult and take a lot of practice. To do calculation on power, trap speeds etc is quite the same as actually doing it, i wonder if some of the cars on the list have calculated figures or actual proven figures? Anybody else on here got any results from runs done with measuring equipment like at York?
  4. Very interesting i ran a 4.3119 at York Raceway on their 0-60mph equipment in 2008 on R888 which was only a 12.5et run. Better than 4.3119 i would think Any ideas what the table listing cars 0 to 60 is taken from, track performance, normal road performance, special tyres etc
  5. Pulling it out is much worse i'll assure you
  6. New motorhome looks nice not that the old one isn't I know what you mean about pushing your luck with weight of the unit and car on trailer. I'm looking at doing my CE to make sure i'm legal, its all very complicated to work out. Also i'd like to get a bigger motorhome eventually
  7. Home after a great weekend drag racing. Arrived friday in the rain and it then carried on raining through to the early hours of saturday morning. StuW set up camp along side and dude (enjoyed meeting the 'legend' at last)arrived in style with his large motorhome parking along side also. Sunshine and dry weather saturday am although it was a slow process drying track out for racing to start. Good to see JP again and very wise of him to leave his supra at home It was also nice to see Ryan arrive and do some laptop work on Stu's car. After the track opened at around 1pm both me and Stu managed a run together my time being 12.2 and stu runing and 11.2 a nice warm up for both cars, Stu decided to visit the pits after this run and didn't join me in the warm up lane which was a bad move I managed another run at 11.7 before rain stopped play again and the track was closed for the day with both me and Stu line up ready for another run on a track just starting to give grip and very cold air temps giving good power levels. After an heavy overnight frost it again took time for the tack to open on sunday morning. It did give us time to meet with the supra lads that had decided to come along for the day It became the busiest day at Shakey i have seen, the fire up lane went down the total length of the pit lane After doing 2 runs one being an 11.679 @ 129.03mph I was having problems engaging gears (boiled clutch fluid i'm hope as this is my second HKS twin plate in just over 2 years) it was decided to not run car again and take some video of stu launching, then pack up and head home. The lads that did try their luck on the 1/4 mile really enjoyed the experiance and may well have got the addiction i was warning about I've got lots of pictures that need sorting through and when done i've load them here, video may prove more difficult as i've never shared that before
  8. don't think track open until 10am sunday hours to keep local quiet! i ran an 11.7 which isn't far off a pb for me today, but only managed 2 runs. track is slippy but power levels are good with cold air
  9. come over and say hello if it isn't to early when you arrive
  10. hope you make it, me and Stu are here waiting on dude arriving pissing down with rain at moment but forcast says it'll be fine tomorrow
  11. Car is loaded on trailer, motorhome is packed and i'm ready for the off See you at Shakey
  12. And that is what i remembered about them back in the mid 90's The big fat arse and big 'artful' rear wing
  13. I'm looking at getting there before dark on friday night to get a good pit area for motorhome, trailer and car. Then have a few beers Come over and say hello anybody that visits either saturday or sunday, i'll be running my car both days but will spend time in pit area chilling as well. Who is staying over saturday night?
  14. racing will not start until about 10:30 on sundays so you may want to review arrival time you can get breakfast and a drink at food stalls when you get there as these open at around 9am
  15. I'm still planning on being there for the weekend, should get there friday night and set up camp in pit area ready for saturday test and tune before race day on sunday I shall be looking at weather forecast before going

  19. An 11.6 or lower would make my year at Shakey on 17 Oct other than that car is runing great and no complaints here
  20. I would check tyre pressure to start with and see if altering it as any affect. Wheel hop can happen on diiferent surfaces doing different things and isn't always an every time thing. Low tyre pressure can sometimes give you to much grip, add a few pounds and less grip = wheel spin and no wheel hop
