  1. Hi all, just need some advice. Thinking of selling the supe later this year and the plate that came with it ends in WOW. So thinking this may be worth something and might get more buy selling the plate and car separate. The plate on the car at the moment is private, it just came with the car. My question is this. 1) Can i buy a cheap private plate and transfer it onto the supe, and then sell the existing number plate ending in WOW for more money? any ideas on this appreciated as the DVLA site doesn't have an answer
  2. anyone used this website before? is it legit? Ive been looking for a Monster cable 2000 HDMI which are way over £100 on Amazon and are going for about £25 in ebay auctions http://www.focalprice.com/CA263B/Monster_Series_Monster_2000HD_HDMI_Cable_M2000_HD_8ft_Black.html?Currency=GBP they are only £11 inc postage on this site Thoughts?
  3. You forgot that when you die you are taxed on your assets.
  4. Haggling is certainly possible directly with Sky as a sky customer (i.e. with a dish) but this generally comes with the clause of signing a new 12month contract. Thursdays are best, as they have a limited number of deals to give away in 1 week. They don't want to give them all away straight away and Thurs is the end of the week for them so if they have any left they are easier to get. As an existing customer, out of contract, I made 25+ calls to sky to get a free SKY+HD box with free install if i signed a new 12 month contract (the boxes were about £100 at the time). They wouldn't do it, but i new if i persisted that i would get it eventually, and i did. Not sure about sky sports contracts though via virgin, but i bet they are similar.
  5. lucky you:) not all of us are so fortunate. Reading is full of em. I have to drive miles out of my way to miss them.
  6. It was free on one of the ustream links posted up earlier
  7. Thanks mate. Are there any drawbacks with these remaps? or is it one of those rare moments when there are none and you get the best of everything?
  8. Cheers mate, looks identical to the antera from the stats (apart from antera is 150BHP and captiva is 148BHP.
  9. Spotted this supe parked on a driveway at a new development below the dam wall of Whitenights/Reading University. My lad plays football every saturday on the field next to the house. Had twin blue viper stripes on silver car.
  10. Just bought a Chevrolet Captiva 2.0vcdi. Its basically the same car as the Vauxhall Antera but not sure if the engine is the same as other vauxhalls. Any idea if it shares any parts or if it can be remapped?
  11. Theft from multi story car parks - Its wrong on so many levels Conjunctivitis.com - now there's a site for sore eyes
  12. Thanks mate. Not really the answer i was looking for but I suppose its a good thing that the price is that low to start with. To be honest ive seen lots of others of that spec at the same price but they have always been far oooop north, and the cars down south always seem to fetch loads more. Its a 3Hr round trip to this garage for me so im not certain if its possible to negotiate for main dealer cars over the phone to save a wasted journey? I really don't want to spend more than 10K as I cant afford it, so not keen on a massive wasted round trip
  13. That`s looks a clean car but its only the LT model (not LTX) so it doesn't have all the toys like leather seats, parking sensors etc (and im down south so Rotherham is a mega long drive)
  14. Yes have money in the bank, so no faffing about. What`s the best way to pay? ive only ever bought on finance before so ive no idea. Carrying cash is obviously not an option. Im assuming its a switch/visa transaction?

  16. Ok, im looking to buy a used Chevrolet Captiva from a main dealer. Its priced at £10995. How much do you recon i can get knocked off? im looking to spend no more than £10,000. I have no idea what margins these companies make, so im really looking for advice on what i can reasonably expect to get knocked off and i know that someone on here will have worked for a main dealer before and have some advice. Fire away
  17. looks like a giant pair of ears are glued to the base. Also look uncomfy, but i bet they are light.
  18. Jesus!!, that's 30,000miles a year on a 2005car. How come you do so much driving?
  19. Hi Scott. It was over 0.3% (was about 0.5%), but the important point is that 0.3% is the incorrect spec to use according to others on here. They should have used 3.5% as the car is a 93Jspec N/A. Ive since visited the garage and they have agreed that they tested it incorrectly, so now i just need to get get it back in for a retest using the proper specification. (i wouldn't mind all this hassle if it wasn't patently obvious that its a 93car because its an L plate and even said that its year of first use was 93 on the MOT failure sheet!!, For some unknown reason they tested it as a 95> car)
  20. Not sure about what you have listed. I bought mine off Nick the Import Pimp on here. His prices are great.
  21. JACKPOT - cheers for confirming that mate. Anyone got any ideas on how i approach the MOT station to explain all this? Im thinking of printing the flow charts of and going through it with them, but dont want to sound insulting/demeaning.
  22. Thanks mate you guys are fantastically knowledgeable. So basically according to those charts it progresses to page 9 after the fail, they cant find an exact match and so they should have used 3.5%?
  23. thanks Nick. Actually i think only 1 cat is fitted. If i recall correctly from last time i visited the garage and saw it on the ramps the cat on the horizontal part of the exhaust appeared to have been cut/welded suggesting to me that maybe it had been hollowed out or something like that. Bearing that in mind do you think it will be cats or O2 sensors or both? (or something else?)
