  1. Here's the bracket: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LE40M87-PLASMA-Mount-Bracket/dp/B000QYL5B8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1199615226&sr=8-8
  2. well the wall definately isn't plasterboard. My bracket has 8 holes (4 along top edge, 4 along bottom) and they supplied 6 of the lag bolts and concrete anchors. Thinking I might pop to B&Q and see if they have any of the anchor bolts, and use some of them as well as the bits I've already got.
  3. I'm not sure it'll be worth it for you or me to be honest mate - it'd probably cost £50+ to get it posted, and then there's finding a box big enough or something to wrap it in, and you can guarantee it'll get wrecked unless it is very well boxed. I'll see what happens as it's in the local paper(s) at the moment so someone may phone and pick it up, but failing that I may drop you a PM and see what we can sort out.
  4. Yep Merckx - that looks like the jobbies, but mine look MUCH longer. I think the instructions suggest a hole at least 60mm deep... and I'm sure the screws (hex socket heads) are probably close to 80/90mm long....
  5. Do you have any idea how BIG the TV is???? It weighs a LOT, and combined with the wooden stand, glass etc I really don't think I could arrange delivery I'm afraid. It took 2 people to get it into the house in the first place LOL.. Unless anyone else can think of a way to post a tv like this....
  6. That is EXCELLENT reassurance (I thought it was something like that) and I have no sockets or lights in that area - I DO have 2 sets of lights on the wall to either side and above the TV installation height - so I don't think these will go anywhere near where I'm drilling. Same sort of thing goes for radiator I think - it's much lower than the tv height so can't see any pipes being there.
  7. Hey all, Yeh, so I'm a right pleb when it comes to this sort of thing, mainly as I think it's just going to rip out of the wall. I've got a 40" LCD TV, and also a wall bracket for it. Bracket looks strong, and mounting "seems" straight forward - 6 x holes in the wall, insert large "concrete anchors" (to me they look just like large wallplugs) and then screw some 90mm long screws into them to hold it in place. Seems easy - but I'm not 100% sure about the wall - it's the wall seperating our house with the nextdoor neighbours - so I would assume it is at least 1 breezeblock thick, right? Would there be a cavity inbetween 2 breezeblocks? I want to mount it in the middle of our living room wall - I wouldn't think there are any wires or pipes running through the wall, but you never can tell.....? Should I buy one of those "pipe/wire" detectors to make sure? Any other hints/tips to make sure it stays on the wall? I'm going to need to buy some new masonry drill bits as all mine are shot anyway. Cheers folks!
  8. Have tidied the first post lists up now, and further price reductions made, more items now sold.

    yey

ohhhh HD - should be good Wish we had gone for HD now - am I right in thinking there is no extra monthly cost, just the initial cost for the box??
  10. No problem mate - PM sent. First post updated.
  11. Ah ok mate - nope - didn't get your PM - but glad you got it ok Never trust Royal Mail these days......
  12. Tis weird mate, they say payments will clear in 7-9 working days..... I've not got this problem or ever had the problem TBH..... So I'm not much help am I?!?! haha
  13. Rob - has the HDD turned up yet mate?
  14. buying newer cars does not solve the problem - they'll depreciate just as much as the older ones, if not more. IMO you lose a LOT more money on new cars as it is usually in the first 3 years you see the worst of the depreciation.

    Musical Instruments?

I play classical, electric and bass guitar (play bass in a rock band) but I also have some basic knowledge/skills on Piano, and I can fill in for our drummer on some basic beats if required.
  16. Well I don't have a Supra, so can't answer this thread LOL
  17. Thank you so much for all your ideas/thoughts. Thanks Cheekymonkey for the very kind offer of free hosting! However, I've managed to find some free hosting that I have used before - I thought my account had been deleted but apparently not so! Cheers!
  18. I don't have a pair I'm afraid, just a single 1GB stick.
