Hey all,
Yeh, so I'm a right pleb when it comes to this sort of thing, mainly as I think it's just going to rip out of the wall.
I've got a 40" LCD TV, and also a wall bracket for it. Bracket looks strong, and mounting "seems" straight forward - 6 x holes in the wall, insert large "concrete anchors" (to me they look just like large wallplugs) and then screw some 90mm long screws into them to hold it in place.
Seems easy - but I'm not 100% sure about the wall - it's the wall seperating our house with the nextdoor neighbours - so I would assume it is at least 1 breezeblock thick, right? Would there be a cavity inbetween 2 breezeblocks?
I want to mount it in the middle of our living room wall - I wouldn't think there are any wires or pipes running through the wall, but you never can tell.....? Should I buy one of those "pipe/wire" detectors to make sure?
Any other hints/tips to make sure it stays on the wall? I'm going to need to buy some new masonry drill bits as all mine are shot anyway.
Cheers folks!
