    freeview box

To record a different channel than you are watching, you will need a TWIN TUNER. The only freeview boxes that come with this are expensive, and usually contain a harddrive internally to record onto. The cheap freeview boxes are simply receivers - allow you to get the extra channels and get digital quality. Things to look for: Twin Scart (mentioned above) - and make sure you have at least 1 scart socket on the back of the tv. Decent build quality Decent remote control (a lot can be REALLY naff) TV Guide - can be useful to plan your weeks watching Subscription Card Slot - if you want topup tv. Oh, and make sure your postcode has a decent reception of freeview, or no matter how hard you try, you just won't get all the channels. Check postcode here: http://www.freeview.co.uk/home On the reception note, you'll need a decent aerial too. Saying this, your current one is probably fine (and you'll only find out by purchasing a box and testing) - if not new aerial may be required (I think they are called Wide-band)
  3. If I'm selling anything expensive, then I make sure i've covered the local freeads etc first. Totally free to advertise, and if it does sell, chances are it will sell for a hell of a lot more than I'd get on ebay. If that doesnt work, I do things by direct bank transfer or personal cheque only. Or you've always got Nochex, although its not as good or safe (i think) Only real reason I use paypal is to PAY OTHERS. Doesn't cost me anything then, as I don't usually buy if seller charges extra. One thing that has been forgotten here - If the amount in your paypal account is less than £50, and u want to transfer it to your BANK account, then theres another fee there too!
  4. Sent the payment Rosie, + a PM just in case
  5. holey cr@p batman, thats a bargain! Good luck CJ - but u won't need it - someone will rip your arm off for this ...
  6. well what an interesting read to come back to, not had much time to come on recently but seems i've missed a h00t Not worth having or knowing people like this. Kicked people out of clubs for far less before now...
  7. i've been doing a bit of work on my PC, trying to do this, but unfortunately with my lack of knowledge it's prooving very difficult.

    Respray Advice

Sorry to drag up an old thread guys, but how did you get on? I'm interested in reading about resprays, as it is something I'm considering when i get a Supra. I'm not sure that i like the idea of just respraying the exterior bits, so an engine-out would be good to learn about (inc. costs) Cheers
  11. and we haven't even started on ur signature yet..... "Triple X.... LARGE!!.... again
  12. so it does! I swear it didnt when i did that 2 minutes ago!
  13. hmmm... is it the way i'm reading it (i've tried adding to basket too) but it comes out at £80 including the games, even though it says you get them for free??
  14. i am so glad i don't go to THOSE UK clubs...... horrifying! Luckily where i go i think the bouncers have taste - and stop the ugly ones at the door!

    my car

damn! If I was ready to buy I'd have had this one i recon - looks stunning! Good luck with the sale mate.
  16. hmmm, i say leave it too. For now at least, and decide later. Out of interest... do you pay your own heating bills? I recon you don't, and thats why you left your house door open
  17. - its a p*sser. Someone put a nasty dent in my SEAT over a year ago now. Its right in a place that means it can't be pushed out, and so will need filling and respraying the front end of my car. The paintwork is fine, which is why i still havent got around to doing it, but its the one thing that really makes me feel sick about my car. Hope you get it sorted soon!
  18. bad dude-luck... hopefully your luck-do is ok.... oops, wrong way around.. only messin with ya Bad luck dude, hopefully your do-luck is ok. I hate to think how gutted I would feel too.
  19. Every racing game i play I always make sure I buy and keep a Supra.... Got all the NFS series, Forza Motorsport, Project Gotham Racing(s).....

    Carputer Install

My whole carPC cost me about £450-500 all in. I did a lot of the work, I already had a spare copy of XP, and a spare laptop hdd, so saved a few quid there. Cheaper today i recon - and you can get an indash motorised Touchscreen rather than a std 7" tft which i moulded into my dash. Think about it this way though - get a cheap laptop and remove the screen. Flog screen on ebay for circa £100+, and use the base of the laptop as the carPC. Then all you'd need is peripherals - usb gps receiver, screen, wireless keyboard/mouse, psu... I recon I could pick up a laptop for about £200 ish, recoup a bit from the screen sale.. In fact, i was working on this recently: Dell C400 laptop on ebay (1.4Ghz, 512RAM, 40G HDD) - £200 Sell screen from laptop - £80 In dash touchscreen - £180 Other peripherals - £100 hmmm... maybe i'll make another one some day
