  1. i'm not really worried about the lower insurance costs - I'm more interested in the peace-of-mind, and added security from jealous kids or whatever. In a garage it can't get seen so it won't get keyed etc.
  2. I spend about 7hrs in 1 day, about once every 3 months, cleaning my car from top to bottom. Wash, Clean, Polish, Wax, Wax, Wax, Wax... lol. Plus a standard wash once a week, and every month a top up of wax (OCW at the moment) I love doing it - it's all part of the fun. IMO, you can do a very good job with very basic knowledge - so long as you buy the right products that complement each other - and I'm more than happy with my results. I spent £160 on cleaning products last year, and most of it should last me another year. (bar the shampoo and such) If you're REALLY into it - get on to detailingworld - learn, and even get shown how to do a good job by a member who lives close to you! - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk
  3. I am suprised that theres so many on main roads though! Not sure if I could do it myself.... not in the areas i live anyway.
  4. good answers peeps - thanks. keep em coming
  5. hmmm ok. It would be GREAT if my new house has space to build/extend a garage - i'd love a double garage (with 1 large single door) so that i could park in garage at an angle, giving loads of room around it to work on the car.... but it's not going to happen. In my budget, i'm finding it hard to get a 2 bed semi-detached with a garage at all! But its early days yet.
  6. damn straight - my Supra needs to be looked after! I HATE parking my Leon on a main road.... i've lost 4 wing mirrors and gained several scratches due to the "public" t*ssers.
  7. exactly what i'm trying to do... but i don't even have the supra yet! (just future plans lol)
  8. poll was being written peeps! gimme a chance! lol I am really trying to find a new house with a garage thats big enough for my future Supra - but many people tell me that most houses that have garages do not have garages big enough for the Supra - some people report climbing in/out of windows and such...
  9. Hey all, I have searched, but can't find anything similar to this before, so thought I'd ask in a Poll.... Where do you park your Supra? I'm just interested to find out how many people actually manage to fit the Supra in a garage, and how many feel O.K about parking it on the road. Thanks
  10. good point - didnt think about the gas soldering irons - i'm always the t*t who runs a mains cable from his front door all the way along the path and down the drive to where the car is located, usually in bad weather too (neighbours think i'm mad) - a gas powered iron would be soo much easier
  11. just a thought, but I have, in the passed, used the side of the soldering iron tip to shrink the heatshrink material. NOT the tip, as this is much hotter and just melts it, but the side of the tip shrinks it nicely. EDIT: Electric soldering iron... Only if you haven't got a hairdryer to hand though - as it seems to do a much better job.
  12. if u do go for some, i highly recommend the Varad UL range... I have the Varad UL 200 (i think) - they are 7mm thick bars with LED's, rather than neon tubes that can get broken easily, dead easy to install and quite bright too! (although i have seen some brighter ones)
  13. well the cr*p weather has bought me a few unwanted suprises 1) Totalled fog light due to large stone. £80 from dealers, or fingers crossed a couple on ebay at the moment... and now, on my way home from playing footy: 2) Totalled windscreen, due to large ROCK! (yes ROCK) bouncing off the top edge of the windscreen. £60 excess... I'm now watching the crack grow and grow as i drive - i have a nice 55mile commute to work tomorrow to see if it'll make it all the way across... (hope its not raining) before I can get it replaced by whoever. I am actually praying for a dry day tomorrow, so my windscreen can be replaced without soaking my car interior.
  14. well the fibe-optic one we have seems to interest only 1 of the 3 cats we have. She licks the tree, and tries to scratch the pot, and we've found baul-balls (sp?) all over the flat. So long as we find them, and don't have to get them "irrigated" from the cats intestines, we should be ok!
  15. woohoo! well said Mine are a solid colour, none of this flasing malarky.... and mine are Red - on a platinum grey car. I like anyway - and its MY car. so ner ner!
  16. EDIT: but i see chavs driving Supra's now too... does that mean you're all chavs???? Kidding BTW - i will have a Supra eventually!
  17. i don't own a supra, but i have undercar LED's. They were an xmas present that i couldnt not use really.. i kept getting asked if i had fitted them. I do actually like them. To try and redeem myself, I put the power switch for them in the boot of the car - this stops me or anyone getting the urge to turn them on while the car is moving, and therefore helps me abide by the laws, no matter how confusing they may be. As mentioned before, spend time working out where you are gonna put them. I eventually found a fantastic install position - in which the bars cannot actually be seen unless you are on the floor and almost under the car
  18. on a previous club forum we used to have competitions each month - we're given a high-res image of a car, and we all have to photoshop/modify it and submit our designs afterwards. Some truely fantastic, some utter sh*te, but good fun if you've got the time!

    new pc

Up the screen res - probably running 640x460 or 800x600 - if its a 17" monitor is should easily handle 1024x768, if not 1280x1024. If your picture is not filling the entire screen, go into the screen menu (via the buttons on the front) and run an auto-set, if not manually stretch the image across the screen using the options in there. D'OH - beaten to it.
  20. I too work in IT (3rd line Tech Support) and 100% agree with the above quote... I have a 3com router i bought for about 40quid. 54g, so a bit older now, but all this "netgear rangemax" stuff is just poo in comparison. You want range??? Get a 3com. I have mine in the back bedroom in a 2nd floor flat, and I park outside on a main road a good 70m away, and I can quite happily sit in the car with my laptop running some diags on my ECU, and still have an internet connection. EDIT: I've just realised that the 2nd link (ADSL) in the post is the one i have. Quoted at working up to 91m!!! And I can vouch for that! (nearly)

  22. I'm 24, but i don't own a Supra... yet. I'm holding out until I can a) get a really nice example (if any are left) and b) look after it the way it deserves. Killing me having to wait, but I'm going to do it nevertheless.
  23. definately! Hopefully some point early next year I'll get my ass down to one... just so busy with work at the moment. Must say i really like the colour, I want my supra to be blue
