  1. On a different note, I got stuck into changing the sump today. It's a pretty easy job if I'm honest. Dropping the rear part of the for t subframe was a pain but once I got my head round it, it was a doddle. A couple of the threaded holes in the upper sump that hold the lower sump on we're slightly damaged so I decided while it was all stripped, to replace the upper sump too. State of play at present is:- Lower sump removed, upper sump dropped off and just need to borrow my mates engine support bar to hold the engine still while I lower the front part of the subframe so I can pull the upper sump clear. On a positive note, everything inside the engine looks brand new still and I've done 3000 hard miles in it since it was built. Hopefully I'll get a few pics up either tomorrow or Monday, and a little how-to step by step on removing the sump pans.
  2. I'm not sure if I'll make it Dane, we've got loads on in September and its the weekend after Tuff Mudder and I'm not sure what sort of state I'm going to be in after it and how many days I'll need to recover.
  3. I'd reccomend have Teflon lines made up with crimped fitting. My entire setup is done that way, and I NEVER have any fuel smell inside the car.
  4. That's Paula's job, I'll get her onto it straight away. Burberry lol.
  5. Few updates on the car. Although I've had great results with the extended sump mod, I seem to be catching the sump all the time. It's got to the point where I'm worried that its going to split. So I've decided to remove it and fit a stock oil pan back on. The car also seems to be over boosting a little. I think this was my fault. The 1/8 NPT threads in boost solenoid were way too tight so I've tapped them out to the correct depth. I think I've got a little swarf in the solenoid and jammed it. I've ordered a new MAC boost control solenoid to replace it. I've also got a heat shield I want to fit between the shifter and my exhaust to stop it stiffening up when it gets hot. Work starts tomorrow, so I'll update as I go.
  6. No tacky birds in bikinis here, only classy woman will do for The Kraken. My wife on ladies day.
  7. That's an N/A converted with a UK TT engine. My guesses are its a UK box and diff too. You'd make more than 9k stripping the car for sure. If I have the cash lying around I'd be all over this.
  8. Welcome to the club Ray. Of reccomend buying a single, an VERY BIG single . There loads of fun.
  9. Bloody hell Robby, didn't know you were still Alive mate.
  10. Well I'm loving the sound of this. Lets just hope the subframe bolts come out ok. They don't look too bad to be fair.
  11. I've done an oil pump change before but wasn't sure I'd be able to take less off just for the oil pan. I'll update as I go. I'm happy with only taking a couple of hours that's for certain.
  12. How long did the job take you start to finish bud?
  13. Yeah that's what I meant when I said engine brace. Got 1 of those. I'll give it a go Friday.
  14. Are you using rubber or Teflon lines?
  15. Yeah I'm just removing the oil pan bud, Friday is the day I recon. I'm going to try and do a bit of a how-to as I go, to help other members who need to do this in the future.
  16. Just loosening the bolts and dropping it down or removing them and supporting it with a jack? I've got an engine brace bar to hold the engine that's no problem at all. I've just been under and by the looks of it, if I remove the rear section it looks like the sump will come straight out.
  17. Can someone tell me how much of the subframe has to be removed to drop the lower sump off. I've fitted an extended sump to the car and if I'm honest I'm sick to death of catching it. Odds are I'm going to put a hole in it at some point and trash my engine, so I'm going back to stock. It's just the bottom sump I need to remove though, top sump is all good. Cheers John
  18. All ordered. Thanks again.
  19. That's perfect thank you.
  20. Yeah that's right but I'll need the full numbers of there no good bud
  21. Hi guys Could anyone give me the part numbers for the round rubber seal and 1 way valve that sits underneath a TT idle control valve please. Thanks John
  22. Yes I am, but with a slightly smaller dinkle
