Hi Ben. If it is the rear you will have to take off the hand brake and then turn the disc/wheel by hand untill the hole in the disc is at bottom dead center. You then have to stick a largish screwdriver into the hole and what you will then be trying to do is turn a little star wheel inside, the star wheel has its points facing you if you see what I mean, you have to use the screwdriver to turn that star wheel either upwards or downwards, one direction will bring the handbrake on more one direction will take it right off. You will have to do it by trial and error cos I cant remember which way does what, but if you turn it a bit one way then check the handbrake you will know which way your going. You have to loosen this right off before the disc will come off, I know from past experiance. Let us know how it goes. Bob.

Hi Garfy. I would definately be interested in this, Im UK and would like the control this would give me. Where abouts in east Sussex are you? Bob.

I think you would be wise to if you wont more from stock speed. Im UK full BPU, you will love it. I supose £1000 - £1500 should see you good, as said above you want to make sure everything is in good working order, ie plugs, coil packs, coil pack conector housings, joints and gaskets, radiator and finally your IC. I was lucky to get a Greddy SMIC from Chris. Good luck. Bob.

I did mine some time ago in gold, they look spot on, if you have the time its better to take them off, de-grease them, clean them, give them lots of coats of your colour paint, (make sure paint doesnt go where it shouldnt). Get some good Supra de cals from flee bay, stick them on carefully then a few coats of clear laquer. Do two at a time, easy to do over a weekend, possably a day, for two. Good luck. Bob.

Saying goodbye to the Supra today, and life changing weekend!
BOB B replied to Pabs's topic in Supra Chat
God man sorry to hear about your bad luck with the crash, it just aint your time right now. Ive been watching all your threads to do with your (what do I put, difficult times, testing period, more like, having a shit life at the mo). its so bad that everything always seems to happen at the same time, Im not glad that you had to get rid of your car, such a great one too. Hope the money and the new job work out well, take everything a week at a time and within a year youll be up on it, with a new life and hopefully a new Supra. All the best. Bob. -
Hi everyone. When I put my foot down a bit, about half WOT above 2000 revs I get what I can only discribe as the sound of all the valves in the engine rattling and knocking. As soon as I ease off, the sound goes, I havnt pushed it towards WOT, too scared, its very hard to pin point because it only does it on load, reving it parked up no problems. Any help or relevant suggestions greatly appreciated. Forgot to mention I have done a pritty lengthy search and there didnt seem to be anything the same. Bob.

I hate to say this but Im gunna. Sent Chris an email on Saterday, bank transfer on Monday, SMIC arrived today. Its a thing of beauty, been cerressing it, mind you that was after playing with the white foamy things for a couple of hours, (man of simple pleasures). Chris was a hero through all this, smoothest deal I have ever had. Smiling even more. Bob.

Hi Rob. Do the hard pipes you have fit a standard UK tt set up? also would you know if this item would fit direct to a Uk or would I have to change the auto front spoiler or even have to get a new front nose? Cheers. Bob.

Ive changed the coil pack connector housings when I did the plugs. It doesnt seem to be an intermittant fault it just starts off hardly noticable then just steadilly gets worse over the period. I first notice it at say traffic lights, it just pops every second or so then as time goes I notice it just driving along then aventually a bucket of spanners for a short time then it seems to start biulding again. Sorry forgot to mention Im prity sure its a missfire, sounds as you said tricky and when it starts its there warm, cold, low rev, high rev. It has happened twice so far. Bob.

Hi Chris. If you have any of these left send me a PM Ill have one thanks. Bob.

Hi experts, I need some advice/help. The story so far. The build up, around 3 months ago I went full BPU, Im UK so full de-cat, fuel cut defencer, and boost controller, before I had this done I had a full service done including all belts. Since then I have had a problem with missfires, started off realy minor, hardly noticable, then over a distance of around 1000 miles it became worse untill the engine ran for about 10 seconds sounding like a shaken tin bucket full of spanners and lost power. It then sudenly became ok, so went for drive no missfires, at this point I changed all the plugs Ik 24s and the connector housings. Everything seemed well for a while then I found that the minor missfire came back it got worse over a 1000 ish miles and then yesterday driving along and then came the bucket of spanners, back again. Pulled over lasted about the same time and then everything came back fine again. It dawned on me today could this be anything to do with the timing and timing belt being changed. Any help or relevant sujestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. A now unconfidant Supra driver Bob.

Hi. My wifes car is a 98 golf GTI and I have a problem with the brakes, it feels like (and from what I have read) worped discs, it has all the same symptons but I have changed all the discs and pads in January and the front discs again in June. The car seams to run ok then after a month or two it comes back and slowly gets worse. Could it be anything to do with the callipers or pistons? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Bob.

Hi. Im no expert and there are loads of threads on here about raising BHP, but from what I gather you will only be able to raise your power up to around the 390 to 420 at the very best to go higher you would be looking at fitting a single. (By the way thats at the fly wheel). Bob.

Just thought I would do a small thread about my spark plug change because I encoutered a few problems that some members might like to know. My 97 TT started missfiring a bit about 3 weeks ago nothing bad just occasionally at idol or normal driving, thought it might be the spark plugs so got some new ones ( good deal from http://www.carsparkplugs.com, denso Ik 24s x 6 £51 something which was the best I found). Did the change, not too taxing a job appart from 2 screws holding down the packs were rounded off and they took ages to remove. Two days of normal driving then started it one morning it sounded like somone dropping spanners into a tin bucket, I was pretty sure at least one cylinder was not firing. After mucho bigo search and thanks to comments from Ian C and others I got 6 new housings from Toyota (£48.82), changed them and jobbid the pins as per Ian Cs FAQ advice, great thread by the way it went exactly as he says. Everything great now and I am sure theres more power and quicker pick up. Lastly though and probably most importantly whilst changing the housings I noticed that the old ones were badly broken and very brittle and a lot of bits of the housings were all around the area of the sprk plug heads. I woulg presume that if while changing the spark plugs those bits bropped into the cylinder it could cause some damage, it took me ages to clear all the bits away so be warned. sorry to have gone on (so much for a small thread) but if one member learns something from my thread then all is well ,,, somewhere. :d. Bob.
