Hi poeple. Well Im stumped, I have taken the car out early on sunday morning, no one on the road, I must have covered 50 miles trying to recreate my problem and unfortunately I couldnt. I have looked at all the points poeple have sugested and anything else I could think of, looking at TLicences comments and totally agree about idle control valve and of course it does didnt think at the time but pressing the brake will take cruise off. Like everyone says it could be opperater error but Im 99% convinced it wasnt, I hate it when things do this. Im going to test it a few more times then Im going to have to use it, just have to think about it all the time and be carefull. If there is ANY change I will re-thread. Thanks again all who posted. Bob.

Thanks everyone Ill now answer all new posts. Gordan. I think if it was related to the work I had done I would have thought something would have shown up earlier, that said Im going to check all the work out big time. Smellywelshman. sounds very much like what happened to me I shall have a good look at the cc stuff. Homar. yes it deffinatally was full power I realy had to stump on the go slowie pedal with both feet to bring it to a stop. Im going to go through all the machanical side of the throttle. Kranz. It was very hard to say if the pedal went all the way to the floor, I was too busy to think to check stuff at the time. Fargo. If I did have something stuck in the butterfly it would be stuck in WOT all the time, although I supose it could have cleared. MikeM and Wez. Good point, just happened so quick and I needed to bring it to a stop rappid at the time. THANKS for all the comments and wishes. Im going out tomorrow early poddle to the M27 (so stay well clear) and see if I can recreate the problem, as said above I can always put it in neutral and seperate the drive from the engine. Ive got a few things to get on with and Ill post or do a new thread to let you know how things go. Thanks. Bob.

Not this time but it has happened before, like leaving toddington services in a convoy on the 22nd and not even getting past the fuel before putting it up a bank, oh and ending up facing the wrong way looking back at 40 other supras with everyone staring. Bob.

Welcome, agree with above, special club, hope you get a good un. Bob.

Hi, now one of a special club, pics, pics, pics? Bob
-
Would this be enough to give WOT?
-
No I didnt, didnt think off that and Im pretty sure the peddle didnt move.
-
I know what you mean but no was only doing 30 ish so peddle no where near floor or mats. although I never thought of that I wouldnt have thought it was the cruise. No, checked all cables and they are spot on everything clean and free moving.

Just bulk standard apart from above mentioned.

Hi people. Im not sure wether this should go here or on tech but seeing as more people may see it and it may be of interest to a lot of you Ill put the thread here. Ill set the scene first, the car had been running for about five minuites poodling along at about 30 going around a few roundabouts in town, I get to the last big one heading off down a duel carrageway. all of a sudden without me pressing any harder the car seems to jump up to full throttle, I had to jump on to the brake to keep it down to about fourty. Luckilly just at the start of the duel carrage there was a layby, to bring the car to a stop I had to push VERY hard with both feet with the car still on full. Luckilly I managed to stop the car before the end of the layby, I moved the auto to N there was a jerk and the car dropped back to tick over. Switched off, checked everything, nothing obvious, started up and drove home in manual (dont know why just felt safer), I have tried it an hour later by myself, in auto no problem. As you can imagine this was a bit of a scare and Im pretty concerned that this may happen again at a worse time. My car is a uk BPU auto and I had a 1st decat, fuel cut defencer and boost controller fitted about 5 weeks ago and done about 800 miles over that time. Any ideas or any knowledge on this would be greatly appriciated. Cheers. Bob

Lui's MEGA CONVOY to Japfest 2008@Castle Combe Saturday 17th May
BOB B replied to lui's topic in National Events
Hi Hoping to join in on the convoys, starting off with "juanchan" from Southampton M27 and then from Reading, joining Lui,s convoy to Castle Combe, I can only make the convoys but I think thats going to be a good enough event in its self. Now being a computor duffer Im not sure how to put my name on the list, if somone could ablige or even tell me how to do it be much gooood. Cheers. Bob. -
Hi. Just cought up with all these convoy threads and I am now totally hooked in. Im on duty Friday night and dont normally finnish till 0900 in the morning but Im pretty sure I can get the hours off. I havnt got tickets for Castle Combe and I am back on at 5 pm, but I think just the getting there will be a good enough thing. If I do get the time off, if its ok Ill join you at the Southampton airport car park at 0515, if I have got anything wrong let me know, Ill stick my name on Lui list. Bob.
