OK no worries, I am at work just now but will post a picture later. One port was before and the other after.

When I had the Eaton M90 supercharger on my supra, I modified the re-circulating valve from a ford 3.8l engine which is vacum controlled. The vlave basically provided a free path between the inlet and outlet of the M90 when open. At tickover and low revs the valve remained wide open and as soon as vacum level became close to atmospheric pressure it closed and remained closed on boost. I still have it and will send a photo if it would help.

My boss is a keen watch collector but he is on holiday for the next week. If it is still available when he returns I will pass him the details. He recently bought one with a great big ugly lever at the side and apparently it was designed for pilots in the 1st WW and the lever was so they could use the stop watch while flying and wearing thick gloves...

If it's just pads and discs you are thinking of changing then imo you won't get much better value for money than this. I have had several sets from this guy now for various motors over the past 6 years and they have fitted perfectly and his service is great. The last ones I bought for a Supra were made by Mintex. Just check yours are the 16" versions before taking the plunge. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300320582045&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT We did order a set from him for a Calibra and when they arrived they didn't fit as ours was made in a switchover year and the bloke could not have been more helpful in resolving it and getting the right ones to us. I will be ordering another set for my new TT very soon Don't be put off because he is a Ebay trader, seems there are still a few serious traders on there. Oh and the ones in the picture are not from a supra, he uses the same image for all makes and models.

It's the polystyrene foam that sits behind the bumper I think and not the complete bumper.

There are some Bose units that fit the Supra front housings perfectly without modding anything, the 3 holes line up perfectly. That's what I have in mine and imo sound second to none. I salvaged them from a pair of Bose cabs, but if you have that sort of budget I am sure you could find similar and do the same.

You know what, I would try it and if because you are catless you dont like it I reckon you would get most of your money back selling it on SH. Wish I could have found a SS one this cheap when I bought mine.
-
That's good news. What's the source of information?
-
Are you decat? If not then the fact it's 3" wont make a lot if any difference as your cats will be providing the restriction not the exhaust. If however you are full decat then possibly 3" might be a bit much and very loud. But if you have the cats in place and need a cheap exhaust then its a good bet at that price.

If Lil num doesnt want it I'll take it, ta.

are the waterpump on a 2jzge and a 2jzgte the same?
Shane replied to luisito-awo's topic in mkiv Technical
It's true they are identical. If you are changing it then be sure to change the small core plug at the rear of the housing. It's impossible to change it once the pump is in place and I have seen two now that have rotted through from the inside, worryingly until they fail they look pristine from the outside. -
As per the title, just about any condition considered so long as it's complete. Will pay fair price dependant on condition.

I originally put approx 145,000 in the add as I thought it was about the same as my other one. But last night someone contacted me and asked the exact mileage as shown and it's 117xxx km. It does clock up in miles but I have no idea when the speedo mod was carried out and dont have any service history or import docs for the car so I really dont know for sure what the mileage is. Same guy who contacted me last night reckons he is coming on Saturday to buy it for £2K, but I get the feeling he is going to bid me on it, he tells me he deals a bit in Supras:blink: but not a member here. I have already told him he wont be driving it away for any less and I mean it. I would rather break it than let it go for less than 2.

Hi mate, yes I have been running my daily driver on all sorts of stuff over the past few years. There are some engines/fuel pumps that are much more forgiving than others. iirc, lucas/cav are the weaker ones and dont like it up them and Bosch and many of the jap ones produced by Nissan, Toyota, Isuzu are fine. However you still need to determine if your pump will handle the viscosity of SVO when cold if you want to run 100%. I have found the 1.7D, NA Isuzu Engine as used in the Diesel Nova, Corsa, Midi etc to be bullet proof and have run 3 of them over the past 6 years all with no problems. The only reason I have changed the vehicle has been due to MOT failure rather than engine failure. The first one a Nova I had for over 2 years and had no issues running 100% SVO, this was changed to a Corsa that ran for a year or so before being replaced with a later corsa also with the isuzu engine. There was a website called something like SVO.. which had been building a database of cars and how they survived when run on various mixes. I tend not to use it 100% all the time in the absolute peak of winter as it does get really thick when below about 2°C. The only down side that has come about now is that since the Government relaxed the laws regarding the use of veg oil in road cars the price has over doubled and unless you shop around constantly you are lucky to save only up to about 25p per litre and unless you are really commited to the cause or travelling 1000s of mile you have to weigh up if its really worth it. Re-cycling waste oil is something I havent done yet as I am too lazy, but if done properly will run the same as normal diesel in 99% of cars and some claim produces more power. I can say that my engine is a lot quieter when running svo or a 50/50 mix then when running derv. I dont use a pre heater and I dont use a secondary tank which is oneof the reasons I tend not to use it too much in the extreme cold as cranking when cold is whenthe pumps are reckoned to give up. The only other thing to bear in mind is that you do need to virtually flush it through every so often with diesel as the veg oil will cause damage to natural rubber parts and tubing after a while. They seem to go almost soggy and disintergrate, but this only happens when the rubber parts are in veg oil for long periods and so long as flushed every so often shouldn't be a cause of concern. I first came across this in Romania when a guy I know used to run his truck on sunflower oil/deisel mix during the spring and summer. He had a plot of land full of sunflowers that used to keep his bees happy and also provide hime with plenty of fuel. But some say sunflower oil is not as good as others such as rapeseed etc, but mixed seems to be fine. There are loads of great sites providing advice on this subject but seem to recall the "SVO" site with the comparison charts was invaluable to me when I first got into it. Hope this helps.

Well it's still with me! I have had a lot of enquiries and what appeared to be serious interest at one point from an overseas member. However no deposit or cash so far. I thought £2k for this was cheap and it would fly out, strange eh. Although I need the cash, I may just hang on to it as I am not prepared to let it go for less than 2k, I may as well break it for that which seems a shame for such a straight car. But am sure in time I would make more than what I am asking now if it was to be broken for spares, just not sure if I want it hanging around and all the hassle of postage etc. I do have a guy meant to be coming tomorrow evening so see if this one turns out to be serious. Have decided though, I will never list a car on ebay again, you cant even leave negative feedback for non paying winners! How biased is that.

I have had some interest from a Dutch member regarding the car I have for sale, he obviously would like to keep the whole V5 and I know from years ago when I was taking vehicles overseas a lot a V5 is essential, but where do a stand as I should by rights give him the new keeper supplement and send the rest of the v5 to DVLA. Or am I wrong and can I just send section 11 the export declaration to DVLA and give him the rest?

Red one was me mate, we were taking my GF's lil sister back home to Sleaford after a week with us in Northants. And yeah he made the journey from the A1 to Sleaford tedious. I was going to pass him on several occasions but there was a jag in front of him driving just as bad!

Well I still have this car, it went for £2,100 on ebay but Mr Hussain of High Wycombe the winning bidder has not been in touch with me to arrange collection or pay a deposit. Had another guy contact me just before the auction ended saying that if the buyer turned out not to be serious he would have it for £2k so I have now contacted him, but so far nothing back I really need to turn this car back into cash as the work has now starrted on my house and progressing at quite a rate. First offer over £2k secures it with the 18" Pirelli P Zeros

here you are http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1136977&postcount=74 Also for the cutting out problem it was code 41. Have a look at Ian C's guide and code explanations, just click on fault codes

The signal from the speed sensor after it leaves your speedo passes through the odometer. The odo meter can somehow corrupt this and cause the symptoms you are describing. I had exact symptoms with mine. There is a wire you can cut and splice which will take the buffering part of the odometer out of the loop. I cant remember what pins wire etc it is but I discovered this and when I tried it on mine it 100% cured my gearbox problem. I think it was a pink wire but do a search and sure you will find it. However that wont cure your cutting out. Mine did go through a spate of cutting out at junctions etc and after reading the fault codes it reckoned that the signal from the TPS had not been there all the time. I simply cleaned the connections to the TPS and the fault cleared and the fault code never re-appeared.

Great stuff, pleased it's fixed.
