  1. Ford ka engine transplant for my sister Joy of joys.
  2. I would go with the 1 bar RR as well, that way in the winter when its nice and cold and you start naturally making a bit more boost you don't need to worry about it going over 1.2 bar (as you would with the 1.2 bar RR).
  3. I've got a 3.6 Beamer, great fun. Can really tug when it wants to though, my friend has a 2.5 and the difference between them is big.
  4. Stunning car and excellent spec. Good luck with the sale
  5. Don't hold your breath, i've been waiting 6 weeks for mine
  6. How random, I was wondering how this was going today.
  7. Welcome You've come to the right place for excellent advice.
  8. Terrible news. Although I never met him, Lew always seemed like such a great guy. I can only echo what everyone else has said, he will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his friends and family. RIP mate.
  9. Perhaps the exhaust is naturally quite restrictive? If you are still only making .9 bar then you will need to carefully reduce the size of the RR until the boost rises. Be careful and keep an eye on things! The other option would be to raise the boost using a boost controller, although if it was me - i'd play around with the RR until I was making around 1 bar then use a boost controller to up the boost when I wanted to (no more than 1.2 bar if your on stock J-spec twins ) Oh and i'd change the induction kit back to a stock air box
  10. As Rob mentioned earlier, Chris Wilson Fast Road Pads are highly recommended by many users.
  11. This will give a good improvement and won't break the bank too much
  12. edit: talking rubbish, didn't read the bit about it being a problem only going over bumps etc.
  13. My mate had a Primera GT and apparently his used to drink juice like it was going out of fashion so not sure if it will make the 35mpg+
  14. Don't be scared, be excited. I'm sure it will be fine p.s. the feeling after you've jumped and you look back up at what you did is amazing.
  15. I agree, i've done one before as well, this is definatley the best way. Don't look over the edge/hang around. Once everything is rigged up stand at the edge, try and look forward rather than down! Once they finish the countdown go for it, first time, nice and confident I did mine from a bridge in Oz its great fun once you've jumped. Good luck
  16. I know its not the same but Seat told me it was a one piece unit for an Ibiza and it would be £60 for a new one and I managed to get into that eventually. Can't help with the BMW key tho Good luck.
  17. Wrap some bandages or something else soft around the handles, otherwise you'll end up with blisters which gets very annoying.
  18. Unfortunately the time has come to sell the supra It’s a red 1993 (K) Jap import twin turbo automatic. It has MOT until March 2009 and tax until August 2008. We are looking for £4250 ono I’m advertising this car on behalf of my parents, they are the first UK owners since it was imported. This car has had a mature lady owner and has never been driven hard. A new house and job means its time for a new owner. •Low mileage – only 82,000 miles. (94,700 km in Japan and 23,433 miles in the UK) •Regularly serviced at garages including cambelt change approx 19,000 miles ago. •Engine completely standard – has never been run above stock boost or modified in any way. It runs great with no smoke. •Always run on Optimax/V-power and has been warmed up and cooled down carefully. •All the usual extras; remote central locking, electric windows, PAS, A/C, stock traction control, electric drivers seat. •The J-spec lights are nice and clear, no yellow/cloudyness. Extras (all fitted in Japan apart from the CD player & alarm): •Momo race steering wheel. •HKS turbo timer. •17 inch Work alloy wheels. •Sony headunit with 6 CD multichanger in the boot. •Cat 1 Alarm/immobiliser. This sounds great, but why so cheap I hear you cry? There are a few problems, mostly cosmetic that I will do my best to describe, I am not out to mislead anybody and therefore will be as honest as I possibly can. The bodywork needs some TLC (see pictures), main points: •The front bumper is scratched and is chipped on one side near the wheel arch (thanks to the garage at our old house which was a very tight squeeze). •There are two stone chips at the front of the bonnet. •The lacquer on the paint has kind of ‘peeled’ a bit in a couple of small localised patches – on one of the wing mirrors and on the rear wing. •There is a dent in the rear quarter panel. •The wheels could benefit from a refurb. The rest of the paintwork is in generally good condition although there are some other expected light scratches/imperfections found in a car of this age. I am confident a number of these could be removed by someone with the correct knowledge/ equipment. I am not a mechanic but am fairly sure that the front brake discs and pads need changing and probably the rears as well. These can be obtained easily either new or second hand here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=141408 The car also has a very intermittent starting problem, suspected to be the common problem of the starter motor contacts needing to be refurbished. It will almost always start perfectly second try. It has an almost new battery. The active spoiler was removed in Japan. There is a private plate on the car at the moment which can be included in the sale. I really have tried to be as honest as possible here and have described everything as it is, these problems are minor and the car would make a brilliant project/base car for big things. I respect the fact that the car isn’t perfect – I know cheap prices can be off putting but I am aware of the current market and am trying to be realistic. With a small amount of work you really could have a lovely car. It has been greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Any questions please post here or PM. If you would like to chat contact me for my number. Thanks for looking, James The bad bits: (The dent is not as big as it looks in this last pic, if you look carefully the top of 'the dent' is the shadow from my legs/head! )
