  1. hope you have a great time in Tokyo-to so many things to do and see while there. All the usual places people visit will be Shibuya, Akihabara & Shinjuku for electronics/camera/PC etc, Ginza for stores, Roppongi for nightlife, Kokyo - The Imperial Palace. If you like Art and culture go to Ueno Park and visit the Tokyo National Museum. There is a lot more listed here all about tourism in Tokyo - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourism_in_Tokyo I guess one of the most recognisable sights of Tokyo is the Tokyo Tower. if you have time you can visit Fuji-san, from Tokyo. ja ne Ian
  2. Congrats on your upcoming marriage. will be fantastic getting married in Tokyo. Are you going for western style wedding or the full traditional Japanese wedding with the bride wearing Uchikake ? ja ne Ian
  3. Thanks for all the replies, i know it is not just me interested in getting some TEIN SS and thought it valid to ask about the EDFC as well as the other threads about just the SS.. Well, the Supra has now gone for 2 weeks, and by thursday i will know how bad the suspension is. Not that i will be keeping it as i am now convinced of the TEIN SS route, and maybe get the EDFC as well if the price is right. I must admit i like idea of changing settings in-car, for the ease and safety issues. The place where all the work is being done are going to give me a price so will see how it compares to forum traders prices, and also how long it takes to deliver them and shipping costs. cheers Ian
  4. Hi everyone, as my Supra goes for two weeks today to sort the broken suspension, just wondering if i get a set of TEIN Superstreets do i need to get the EDFC as well. I cannot foresee any track days, so they will be for road use 99% of the time. if i have to get the TEIN SS i will not have them with top mounts. down in Sussex most of the roads are useless to drive on, so bumpy and many potholes or recessed drain covers. until you get out of the bexhill-hastings area onto better 'A' roads they are bad. cheers Ian
  5. Interesting thread Michael, how long is it going to run for?. voted as well, one of the easiest decisions to make, lol ja ne Ian

    Bionic Woman

downloaded the first episode of Bionic Woman the other day, not watched it yet. Usenet rocks Eastenders never looked like this, lol ja ne Ian
  7. black or red with 'supra' decals. if no decals, yellow, red, blue in that order ja ne Ian
  8. Cheers, thanks for the reply, that gives me a figure to work from. all the best Ian
  9. Glad you were not hurt in this, or the kids got hit by this idiot. Really do wonder how some people ever get a licence seeing how they drive on the road. Hope they catch the person, but even if they do more than likely nothing will happen to them. Maybe it is time for police to take cars and crush them from these morons. Also, hope you don't have to pay too much to get repairs done ja ne Ian
  10. hi all, As my Supra is going in for work on it next week, have been thinking of adding skirts and an aftermarket spoiler. really appreciate if someone can let me know approx costs involved in having a set of skirts painted silver and also the cost of having a aftermarket spoiler done too. not sure if i am buying secondhand or brand new at this moment. So paint costs will have bearing on where i buy, either new or s/h from forum. Maybe will be quick enough to nab a set off the forum. Thanks Ja ne Ian
  11. Hi Nic, Thanks for the quick reply, prices are much cheaper than i thought. My Supra goes away on Monday for a week to have some interior lights work done to it and also for the suspension to be checked over. I called the place today to get MOT at same time, and asked him how long it takes to fit the handbrake and auto lever. Said he may be able to help on the parts as i need centre console as well. He will call back and let me know, if he can't help with those parts, then i will place order with you for them and a few other things, and get them done in a few weeks time. thanks Nic, for the help and info. sorry i can't be more definite right now. with family health problems i am trying to get everything done as soon as i can, but if not, i will do it later on. ja ne, or as you are in HK, xie xie Ian
  12. hi, i am thinking of replacing both the following parts as they are showing their age now. handbrake - only the handgrip section as it has many marks and scratches on it, the rest of it is fine. auto shift lever - only the leather grip section, just for aesthetic looks, has a few scratches on the Leather. how long would these take to replace? appreciate any part numbers as well, if possible, and if they are easy to obtain really appreciate any help on this thanks Ian
  13. we got them all the time here. i don't mind if they left a card and said call them if you need to talk. but not to keep coming to the doorstep. my mother used to work with the guy in charge locally and she told him that she was not interested so he told them not to call for many years i don't have problem with people believing in religion. But i think anyone who does not allow blood transfusions (in majority cases) is not the thing i am interested in one bit. Michael, made me laugh reading your way of getting to them ja ne Ian
  14. The Shuttleworth Collection is renowned for the number of older biplanes and first world war planes it keeps flying. here is link to the webpage for the Grace spitfire. http://www.ml407.co.uk/pages/main.html recommend if you can get a copy to watch this video - http://www.ml407.co.uk/pages/plgsmore.html was originally single seater, but later converted to two-seat Spitfire http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._485_Squadron_RNZAF hard to believe it is 20 years in 2008 since Nick Grace got killed. great that you and your dad had good time at the Collection ja ne Ian
  15. section 1C seems to list the areas between groynes where dogs are allowed to be on the beach, and the slopes leading to the beach from the road/pavement. there are also 'dog mess' bins along the promenade at various places too. sure is typical council speak. lol
  16. hi, it's me living in Bexhill, not so sunny today. was not sure of the dog areas, so found this document which lists all the places you can and cannot take dogs in Bexhill. lists the groyne areas on the beach where they are allowed. One thing to watch for, most of the beach is stones, unless the tide is out where you can get to the sand. hope this helps http://www.rother.gov.uk/media/pdf/h/n/Summary_of_Existing_Dog_Controls.pdf a thought, it is only small document 3 or 4 pages, maybe an idea to print it and take it with you in case someone argues the point of where dogs are allowed ja ne Ian
  17. Hi guys, thanks for the replies and offers of help it never rains but poors for me, after i had written this thread, i went out in the Supra. Was telling Russ that i went out afterwards and drove over this drain cover that was low in the tarmac, did something to my suspension. So now the smallest bump in the road, feels like both rear tyres are deflated. Looking like i need to get Supra looked at to find out the damage, so not sure what i am doing about second car now. Not sure what i am going to do at this moment, as i need to get my Supra sorted out, but i have thought about Soarers, Aristos, Lexus for a while now as second car. Thanks Russ, for the PM. i know we replied to each other but wanted everyone to know i replied to you really do think your car is fantastic. Hi Robert, thanks for the offers of help, appreciate it. I have no idea what nice Aristo's go for, have checked the for sale threads here on forum and have some idea. I don't need one that has been highly modded, but it does need to be auto. Going to check out the ClubAristo site, so probable see my nick there probably depends what the Supra costs to fix, as to what i end up with, Soarer, Aristo, Lexus. Also need to find out about the different spec's. cheers once again for all of your help and advice in this thread ja ne Ian
  18. i know i can even get a 2nd hand cavalier, or vectra as option. Really i thought if i am going to buy a 2nd car may as well have a decent size and liking Toyota quality, i find smaller cars uncomfortable as i am 6ft5inches, and also i only want auto as most of the driving will be local around town. would have been ok of the ECU in my old Carlton had not given up the ghost. anyway, i want something nice if i take the family out, or mom and g/f together. ja ne Ian
  19. Hi Pete, Will be great to hear all about your time in China, you are going to be there before me now. Hope you take loads of photos of everything you see, if you want to get some idea of the country before you go, CCTV9 (sky 511) is a good option, they have travel documentaries and other things on there. I can't go now until Spring Festival/Lantern Festival 7th/15th Feb 2008. My mom need replacement elbow surgery this week, and won't be well enough for my vacation to China in October. hope all the plans are getting sorted out for you by now, not long to go 5 weeks thereabouts check out this website and search for the places you are visiting, lots of photo albums on there of all things, really good resource - http://www.flickr.com all the best Ian
  20. Still happy with the Supra, and from choice don't really want to get rid of it, but maybe have to. This really is Supra related, stay with me Family reasons mean i may have to sell it, or if i can get cheaper auto Aristo or Soarer as 2nd car. Last week my mother had a really bad fall on gravel in the road just walking behind the Supra to get in it. She has now had to have a replacement elbow as her elbow fractured into many pieces, worst the local hospital surgeon had seen. Now she can't get into the Supra. really needing to know how much lower is the bottom of a Supra door compared to an Aristo/Soarer, also the height between top of the door on Supra, Aristo and Soarer. Have a nasty feeling that i may end up with a cheap BMW if i can't find an auto Aristo or Soarer. Don't think i can afford s/h Lexus. but want to stay Toyota if at all possible. Really am needing some help on this as it is urgent. thanks to anyone who can help with the answers cheers Ian
  21. All done and dusted, Visa arrived a few minutes ago in the mail, by Royal Mail Special Delivery ja ne Ian
  22. Hi Pete, checked my email and received one from the Visa company saying that my Visa was on its way to me, so maybe today or tomorrow it will be here. At least i know it cleared the Chinese Embassy, so one thing less to worry about. 16th October should be better weather, slightly less humid. just drink lots of water even so. Don't drink tap water, only bottled water, even in hotels, for health safety. Take some anti-malaria treatment as well for mosquito bites, you never know. last night my g/f who is currently in Nanning got bitten by 6 of the buggers. Chinese tend to at night and then in the day have the windows open all the time. and look out for the big spiders (not looking forward to that, myself). ja ne Ian
  23. now you have Pete worried, lol, won't want to go to China now i am staying away from the Animal part, told the g/f i can't go anywhere near that if they have cats
