  1. hi everyone, just thought i would share my thoughts after my first Supra upgrade purchase. As many will know i had my suspension killed by a Skyline forcing me into a recessed drain cover after taking my half of the road. Therefore i needed to get a new suspension system sorted out quickly. I asked lots of questions on forum and appreciate all the great advice i got for many here I decided to go for the TEIN SS without Topmounts and an EDFC setup, which has been delivered and fitted to my Supra. Car won't arrive back until tomorrow. Jody, really did help so much on everything, and much more than the Suspension package and spent a long time on the phone talking about more things i will have done. First things will be a blue dash conversion and dash respray. Afterwards more things as well I have never written a testimonial on a company on Forum, but really have no hesitation in recommending Jody. Anyone wanting a new TEIN SS setup, i would give Jody a call first, and check his prices out, really great, and fast shipping Finally have to say that this is first time in a while i actually feel happy about driving the Supra, getting it to be like i want it ja ne Ian
  2. Thanks for the link, Mark that does look really nice scheme Cheers Graham, liking the look of yours as well. It's not easy choosing the interior schemes as i am going to have blue dash conversion done, but need to get it painted at same time. If i could afford it would like to have interior trim like this Supra. http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/articles/interior.htm Maybe as i need both Auto Gear lever and handbrake leather replaced, get them done it grey now ja ne Ian
  3. hi, another one of those dash questions, i know they seem quite topical atm. Really would help me if anyone has photos in good detail/true colour of Gunmetal or Graphite dashes. I need to get mine repainted, and have seen DamanC's silver coded 199 which looked good and also some bright silver dashes. But, have not seen any of the gunmetal or graphite ones mentioned. I need to make a decision in next few days as i am having blue dash conversion as well as some other things done. cheers in advance ja ne Ian
  4. Hiya Jody i know we talked on the phone, but just so it looks polite in the forum will reply too, hehe. yes, both items were recieved by the garage, and will be installed on Friday, so car should be back on Tuesday. So far it has been the best experience of using a Trader on the forum, many thanks Later on today, will write up a positive report on all the advice and other things we talked of, and give positive i-trader as well cheers, for everything, and will see you soon ja ne ian
  5. Cheers for the photos Gerald, that is how i am having it installed for the moment, as i just want it installed and working ok. Will be getting it moved somewhere else soon
  6. Thanks Daman, for the info, looks nice in 199, from the photo not as bright as the silver dash panels you normally see when painted. looks like a choice between 199, graphite and gunmetal now
  7. Hi Jake, down here in Sussex the roads are dreadful, recessed rain covers, badly patched surfaces, so many bumps - a nightmare. You have to drive the other side of Bexhill or Hastings to get to any good roads where the normal suspension feels good. didn't help when some guy in a Skyline came towards me on my half of the road and forced me into a recessed drain cover and killed my suspension :| Hi Gerald, thanks for the the reply, appreciate it. I think it will be used same as you, in town on the bad roads - soft, then on the good roads set to a more hard setting. Thanks for the pic, look forward to it Hi Daman, thanks for the photo, if only i had the space to have it fitted thatway, but still need 2 Din slots, for DVD setup. btw, what colour pain code is your dash, i like that colour and am getting mine repainted in a couple of weeks? Cheers guys for all your help, appreciate it ja ne Ian
  8. Wow, Daman, really liking the look of your Supra. Both front and rear look great and the skirts and spoiler just finish the whole package Top rate work there ja ne Ian
  9. Hi, Hope someone can help. tomorrow my EDFC unit arrives ready for install. just wondering if someone has any photos showing their install inside the car, and where is it positioned for use when driving. Not sure where to locate it so it is easy to reach when needed. Any help really appreciated, thanks Ian
  10. try this site - http://www.kanjistep.com/ shows the actual sequence of brush strokes in animation and also has audibles. covers Hiragana and Katakana as well as Kanji i use this site quite a bit over the last few years hope this helps ja ne Ian (ja ne - Japanese for 'see ya')
  11. i use Giganews, probably the best Usenet provider out there, if you don't mind paying for it. currently they hold and archive of 200 days binary retention, and over 1000days of others. they hold uncensored groups too, and you can get groups added if not on their server. Also, they have both a Europe and a US portal. Newzbin is good utility as well, only 2GBP for 8weeks. there is also a porn version of Newzbin, if you should want it, lol Recommend both if you want maximum retention. for a newsreader client i use Newsleecher, it is very good for use. one bad thing, if it crashes sometimes you can lose all the headers and have to get them again ja ne Ian
  12. hi, interesting thread and perfect timing. thinking about having dash painted as well. Silver looks nice, but does anyone have photos of the Graphite or Gunmetal finishes to compare them all? Really would appreciate some photos, as i have to get this all sorted in next few days. cheers, Ian
  13. This morning, at about 9.30AM, a Black Supra going from Bexhill along to Glyne Gap Roundabout. Saw you at Glyne Ascent as i was walking there. ja ne Ian
  14. got sent this and think it's a classic ja ne Ian
  15. Hi Adam, Good to see you on the forum again yes, it was the setup i bought from you. very happy with the whole thing. problem was the was it was installed, sometimes it did not turn off when you set to to turn off. so one day i turned ignition key and it jammed against the handbrake and the gears got stuck. then when started car again the screen came out and just goes to 45degrees and the gears grind, though screen still works. I took the side off but when fitting it back together the main housing cog still doesn't engage the other cog, so imagine they are out of alignment now cheers for the offer of fixing it for me, but i now bought one on eBay. my bad timing, lol. i should have asked you first, before going for the auction. Then again how much would it cost to fix it. i may just resell the one i got last night again on eBay. hope all is well with you these days, i know you had lots going on when i bought the Kenwood. all the best Ian
  16. No longer need this - not too bad now picked one up brand new for 100GBP
  17. thanks for the offer, but i need the part that goes around the auto lever with the ashtray in it
  18. may as well add, if anyone has a UK Dash for an auto that would do as well really do need these parts
  19. cheers Gaz for the info so hopefully i can get them sorted tomorrow. may as well bump my 'wanted' thread once more just in case, lol
  20. hi everyone, needing these urgently and wonder how long they will take to order and deliver from Toyota. Dash Panel - Right hand section - UK Spec with all the switches in great condition and no scratches. autobox centre console surround - in good condition with no scratches handbrake handgrip (or handbrake complete) - in great condition with no marks/scratches Auto gear lever, the top leather part of the lever to replace mine which is scratched. Left hand side drivers round a/c air vent. Asked in wanted section but no one has these for sale now. cheers Ian
  21. Happy Birthday Darryl have a good one, sport One good thing about birthdays, another year older, another year closer to cheaper car insurance ja ne Ian (glad to see you are still in 'red' a year later one)
  22. Hi, another few things i am after if anyone has them. Left hand side drivers round a/c air vent. ja ne Ian
  23. Looks like my Sat Nav screen/Monitor is knackered, only comes out to 45degrees and then the gears clash and it stops. anyone have a cheap KVC-1000 screen/monitor they no longer need. seen one on ebay for 100GBP starting bid, but not sure i can wait that long for auction to end on 15th Oct. Need it delivreed and fitted by end of next week while car is having suspension done. if i can't find one in next couple of days, will just need to get a KVT-920/925 unit cheers Ian
  24. hi, needing to buy a setup of TEIN Superstreets without top mounts also probably add an EDFC at same time as my suspension has to be replaced and easier to do it all in one go. As this is my first big Supra related purchase, I really would like the best deal available for this as I plan on using same supplier again for other things. Appreciate knowing a total price for the following to be delivered courier to Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Also need to know rough delivery time as at present have no Supra to drive and won't for another 1.5weeks. a) TEIN Superstreets without top mounts b) TEIN Superstreets without top mounts but also an EDFC i will need these to be delivered by beginning of next week so they can be fitted and car returned to me by end of the week cheers in advance, Ian
  25. Oh well, have now found out the suspension is toast, so have to go with the TEIN SS without Top Mounts and also probably get the EDFC at the same time. So now it is a case of getting the best prices to deliver this setup to me. also looks like my Kenwood KVC-1000 screen is not working so have to get a replacement for that.
